Dick Wolf, Creator of ‘Law and Order,’ Calls on President and Board of UPenn to Resign
“I do not support hate in my businesses, personal life or philanthropy.”
Wolf graduated from UPenn and is obviously not happy about the school’s response to what happened in Israel.
Campus Reform reports:
‘Law & Order’ creator calls on UPenn President and Board of Trustees Chair to resign
The creator of television series Law & Order has called on key figures in the University of Pennsylvania’s (UPenn) administration to resign.
Dick Wolf, who is a graduate of UPenn and the namesake of the university’s Wolf Humanities Center, wrote a letter to UPenn President Liz Magill condemning her promotion of the university’s Palestine Writes Festival and stating that he will cease all donations to the school until she and UPenn Board of Trustees Chair Scott Bok resign.
Wolf is known for producing television shows such as the Law & Order, Chicago, and FBI franchises, as well as Murder for Hire, Feds, The Human Factor, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Blood & Money. He has also produced several podcast series, including Dark Woods and Hunted.
On Saturday, UPenn student Jared Mitovich posted Wolf’s letter to Magill, which stated that “things have gone from bad to worse at our beloved UPenn,” to X.
“Having grown up in New York City where I was raised by a Jewish father and Irish Catholic mother, I have supported many faith traditions and free speech throughout my life,” Wolf wrote. “I do not support hate in my businesses, personal life or philanthropy.”
“My background and my time at UPenn set the foundation for a 40-year career as a producer of content,” Wolf continued. “I am used to people attacking me for my views and opinions. I’ve never shied away from supporting and fully backing diversity of thought. I wish I could say the same about UPenn’s leadership.”

This is a nice gesture
But as long as folks are willing to pay tuition at Penn
and as long as folks are willing to work there
nothing will change.
—————
People of character must be willing to walk away from Penn and places like it — Michigan, Stanford, Harvard, others
What was …….. will never be again.
We were complacent and allowed it to happpen. Ok fine.
Let us resolve to put on our big boy and big girl pants, and establish BETTER paths going forward.
Let us resolve to use our smarts and our good intentions, and create educational and apprenticeship programs that OUTPERFORM what is currently offered at old fashioned, rotted out places like Penn etc.
We can do it.
It can be done.
You want concrete examples from Real Life?
1. The National Football League pretended that the upstart American Football League did not exist, that it was second rate. For years. Until players out of college chose the AFL over the NFL. And fans found the AFL games more wide open and entertaining.
2. The National Basketball Association pretended the upstart American Basketball Association did not exist. That it was bush league. Etc. Until college players chose ABA contracts over NBA contracts. And fans found the ABA game more wide open and fun to watch.
Other examples in other industries.
There’s no reason that a better higher education product cannot be developed.
Higher quality
Ofttimes lower priced
Better outcomes
I’m no freaking genius but good heavens if there ever was an industry ripe to be made completely obsolescent it’s America’s colleges and universities.
Leftist infiltration:
1. Identify a respected institution.
2. kill it.
3. gut it.
4. wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect.
The problem is that lefties are too shiftless to put in the time to tan the hide, so the skin suit always begins to stink in really short order.
If LEGAL INSURRECTION (and others) can succeed and grow competing against behemoths like AP and NYTimes and CNN etc
then it ought to be possible to establish and develop alternatives to even the “finest” U.S. colleges.
Employers could help too if they’d be a little more discerning before hiring from most of these schools
I really hope that folks like Dick Wolf and or Huntsmans and or Wexners and or Lauders and or others will put their heads together
Regardless, Penn is lost.
There’s an enormous subsidy in the college model that’s not present in the blogosphere/MSM sector. There’s also the ability to offer viewing free of charge, which is not feasible in the college model.
There are alternatives, though…they just compete against a national many-headed behemoth.
UPenn is woke trash dumpster fire!
Like harvard they don’t teach critical thinking nowadays. Its all conformity to CRT, DEI, BLM, LGBT.
Woke trash.
Wow, you’ve really captured the essence of Penn with this incredibly lucid and articulate observation.
Did you attend or teach there?
Based on their acts, especially in recent weeks, it would seem apparent that SMOOTH is more right than wrong
One would not have to enroll there or work there to understand that.
We need more such letters at all Ivy League and major state universities
