Obama is the anti Reagan. It is very sad.

I was just watching the Obamas dancing their first dance at the inaugural ball and it hit me like a ton of bricks. How in the h-ll did these people pull this off? This unknown, unaccomplished, underwhelming man – how did he do this?
He didn’t do anything. He has long been a tool of leftist and Islamic interests who pushed him through ‘the program’ (got him into Harvard, onto the Law Review), then got him into teaching part time (Alinski tactics),’community organizing,’ then into Chicago politics, etc. His books were written by William Ayers. He was constantly promoted as a good mouthpiece.
He won the Senate race by pure luck (remember, his GOP opponent, who was way ahead, got caught with his pants down). He won the presidential race because the GOP was again stupid enough to put up a candidate based on his ‘being around long enough.’
The groundwork for this kind of thing has been long in the process, (even before the Vietnam War) with the left taking over education, right to vote for 18 year olds being pushed. Unions played their part in the Democrat/government/union money laundering scam. The media and Hollywood were long infiltrated by leftists and played their part in corrupting young people, as did the leftist education complex. (McCarthy was right.)
So this is not sudden, but a process long in the making, and willfully ignored by the country club a-holes of the GOP.
As ‘sudden’ as all this has come, you will see how ‘sudden’ your loss of freedom is, as it is eaten away one executive order at a time, while the likes of John Bohener and John Roberts twiddle their thumbs. If you read accounts of people who lived under the rise of the Nazis, they will tell you to a one how they ‘suddenly’ realized their freedom was gone.
Time to wake up and fight back, tooth and nail.
This bolster of cyphers started with Hillary Clinton: a clumsy, bitchy wanna-be was pronounced ‘smarted woman in the world,’ and promoted by the left, until they realized they had a less of an idiot in Obama.
But if it wasn’t Obama who won in 2008, next time it would have been another of the tools they have in the pipeline. Remember, Al ‘Jezzera’ Gore was almost president — as was John Edwards. There are a ton of Obamas being made in the leftist education factory. It’s just that they finally got one in office.
Another one is Elizabeth Warren. A true monster — and even more dangerous than Obama.
The left’s manufacturing of useful tools and useful idiots reminds me of how the US won World War II: by overwhelming the Axis with manufacturing power. The GOP is in a position the US was at Pearl Harbor.
The problem is, we have absolute political incompetents running the party. Do NOT count on anything changing until there is new party leadership.
I’ll never forget the day Reagan died and they brought his body first to Gates Kingsley Gates funeral home here in Santa Monica.
I walked to Wilshire Boulevard to see the hearse going by and then decided to walk the few extra blocks to the funeral home.
There was already a large crowd gathered on the lawn and in the street in front of the funeral home. As I stood next to a hispanic couple and their darling little children holding little American flags, the crowd suddenly erupted into an impromptu and very hearty rendition of “God Bless America.”
Tears were flowing on many faces.
About a year ago I was telling my sister this story and she said, “I was there, too, dummy!”
Neither of us had known the other was there. But we both admitted we’d never sung so loudly and proudly in public before.

I live about 180 miles SW of DC, in Virginia. We watched the motorcade after the funeral, which took him to Andrews for the flight to California. We have most of the east coast air traffic fly over us, or at least within sight of our house. The jet trails are visible throughout the day.
I figured time for take off and gaining altitude and prepared myself on the back deck with binoculars. Sure enough at about the time I figured I saw the jet, with a fighter escort on either side flying west. I’m really sorry I didn’t think to have my camera with me.
I’m proud to say he was my Commander in Chief for his entire 8 years. I really miss hearing him talk about the greatness of our country.

Read today that some LSM loser lib [I know I’m being redundant] from CNN got so emotionally choked up over The Choomer’s speech that he said “pinch me”. My gut reaction to four more years of the Kenyan is to have somebody “shoot me”.
Reagan convinced me that conservatism is about progress, about the future.
Conservative principles and the lessons of history are supplies that the wagon carries on the way to the frontier.

Wise, and humble. That’s what I appreciated most about President Reagan.
Are we reduced to decadence? Reliving the glories of the past? Sure, I believe every word he spoke, but look at the date. 1981. We have to deal with today. I feel great listening to that speech, but we have to deal with the present crisis, not bask in the glories of the past.
I want to believe those days and such a leader will emerge again, as Reagan was, in my opinion, the best president of that past century. Likewise, I rate Obama just below James Buchanan as our worst. Yet, he is still the president, and we still have to endure a 2nd term. We have too much corruption to make me think we’ll ever see another good leader again, though I pray I am wrong.
The amazing thing about this speech is how timeless it is. If someone made that speech today, the same problems, the same opportunities, we wouldn’t need to change a word narry some personal greetings in the beginning that have passed on.
