Buh-Bye: Stanford Law Diversity Dean Involved in Shoutdown of Conservative Federal Judge Departs
“I write to share that Tirien Steinbach has decided that she will be leaving her role as Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Stanford Law School to pursue another opportunity”

In March, students at Stanford Law School shouted down 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Stuart Kyle Duncan. The incident was ugly, with some students even saying “We hope your daughters get raped!”
An Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion named Tirien Steinbach was present and made the situation worse by taking to the stage and berating the judge.

She was initially placed on leave but is now leaving the school.

From the Washington Free Beacon:
Stanford Law School Ousts Diversity Dean Who Egged on Protest of Federal Judge
Stanford Law School has parted ways with the diversity administrator who in March joined students in protesting a sitting federal judge, according to an email reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.
“I write to share that Tirien Steinbach has decided that she will be leaving her role as Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Stanford Law School to pursue another opportunity,” Jenny Martinez, the law school’s dean, said in an email on Thursday. “Although Associate Dean Steinbach intended to de-escalate the tense situation when she spoke at the March 9 event, she recognizes that the impact of her statements was not as she hoped or intended.”
Steinbach had seized the podium from Kyle Duncan, a judge on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and, in a video that went viral on social media, lambasted the conservative jurist for causing “harm.”
“Do you have something so incredibly important to say,” she asked, that it is worth the “division of these people?” She went on to tell him that he had to weigh whether the “juice [was] worth the squeeze.”
In April, two federal judges announced that they will no longer hire clerks from Stanford Law.
Professor Jacobson suggested the the diversity dean is a symptom of a much larger problem, which is the toxic culture of schools like Stanford that embrace DEI policies.
This news comes just one day after the president of Stanford University announced that he is resigning due to flaws in research.
So far, 2023 has not been kind to Stanford.

Rather than one step forward, two steps back, maybe it’s becoming two steps forward, one step back.
However, the actors like this woman and their performances will get more bizarre as the realization of changing momentum sinks in. It’s all they know, but they are too ignorant to understand how it turns most people off.
Pity to the students under their tutelage, and moreso to those they will wreak havoc upon with their elite educations and dangerous childlike approach to themselves and the world.
Agreed. Infantile performance theatre of pompous outrage seems endemic. The loony leftists probably will escalate their favorite pastime of ritual denunciation and misplaced anger at those who defy their demands for subservient compliance with their orthodoxy. These sorts hate it when anyone has the audacity to refuse to immediately buckle and kowtow to them and their response is to go directly into attack and destroy mode regardless of the underlying rights and wrongs.
Finally, some good news!
I watched the video contemporaneously, and I believe that one of the law students yelled, “I hope your daughter gets raped!” This was a law student, not some punk freshman. I may be misremembering the event in which this was shouted.
I like the judges fighting back by declaring that they will hire no clerks from Stanford. This type of thing has got to put the fear of God into both the law faculty and the law students themselves.
More judges should have declared such.
Erronius
It’s the ninth circuit IIRC, those political hacks probably increased their hiring of stanford idiots.
“More judges should have declared such.”
A few is a start.
I think she would fit in well at Oberlin.
I was thinking the same thing. Great minds…
Such as not planning, triggering, and participating in the despicable ambush of a distinguished guest speaker.
…. and expelling some of the student protesters.
When we lower standards by Affirmative Action, is it any surprise we get unintelligent, overprivileged, disrespectful bad-example-setting louts like this?
You’re too kind to her.
She’ll fail up just like that nasty Meredith Raimondo who left Oberlin for a promotion at Oglethorpe.
I rejoice in her lived forced resignation.
Well, bye.
First off that thing is butt ugly.
Next thing that comes to mind is how much did they pay her to leave? I have doubts that she’s leaving without some kind of bribe.
They didn’t pay her to leave. It has been arranged. It’s the same way some professors decide to take a position at another university after allegations of inappropriate relationships.
“So far, 2023 has not been kind to Stanford.”
The beatings will accelerate until MY morale improves.
Let us hope that the offending individuals are not forgotten for the serious harm they have done. For if presentism (Punishing people in the present for sins committed by those from the past) demands failures of the past be forever punished in the future these individuals certainly qualify
Is this the cleaning of DEI crap from the toilets of academia?
Good riddance!
Call me a cynic but I belive this is due to some large donor threatening to withhold their next check to the school…
As quotes in Caddyshack, “The world needs ditch diggers too”.
As another poster commented, there is work left to be done.
Any law student who participated in trying to silence the speaker should be expelled and never readmitted. Not only have they self-selected as not worthy of being in Law School or being admitted to the bar, their speedy and permanent departure might serve as an example discouraging others from such hooligan activity.
