Half of the CDC Team Investigating East Palestine Spill Fell Ill With Symptoms Similar to Residents

“An official familiar with the workers’ illnesses told CNN that while it’s unclear what caused their symptoms, members of the team found it suspicious they became ill at the same time with the same symptoms.”

Remember when the Biden administration officials claimed everything was okay after the train derailment in East Palestine, OH, spilled dangerous chemicals?

Residents didn’t fall for the hot air. They told anyone who would listen about their symptoms after the spill.

Now the CDC admits that 7 of the 15 investigators also fell ill:

Investigators who experienced symptoms were part of a group conducting surveys house to house in a neighborhood near the derailment.

“Symptoms resolved for most team members later the same afternoon, and everyone resumed work on survey data collection within 24 hours,” a CDC rep said in a statement to CNN.

All team members resumed data collection within 24 hours, and “impacted team members have not reported ongoing health effects,” the CDC added.

An official familiar with the workers’ illnesses told CNN that while it’s unclear what caused their symptoms, members of the team found it suspicious they became ill at the same time with the same symptoms.

In February, healthcare workers told WKBN the ailments they see in people, including chemical bronchitis:

Some even complain they start feeling better when they leave their homes for a while, only to feel worse once they return.

“This could be a lot of things, but if you’re leaving your house and [symptoms] improve, and you go back and it comes back, I’m not thinking that’s allergies or not thinking it’s a cold,” said Deb Weese with QUICKmed. “I think it’s related to that stuff you’re inhaling there.”

Weese says the burning sensation when breathing could be what she calls a form of chemical bronchitis. She urges anyone suffering similar symptoms to seek treatment.

“Let’s face it: If it comes down to it, it might be something in the future that comes about from all these chemicals they’re breathing in that we don’t know about, so it’s important that they document all of their symptoms,” Weese said.

East Palestine residents have asked independent researchers to help them find answers about how the chemicals affect them. A survey starting February 21 and as of March 21, over 400 residents had symptoms:

The top 5 symptoms residents report have remained the same throughout the survey period:

  • Headache – 76%
  • Anxiety – 62%
  • Coughing – 54%
  • Fatigue/tiredness – 52%
  • Irritation, pain, or burning of skin – 50%

I remember reading what happened in Chernobyl, how the residents were told – at first – everything is fine. Then they were evacuated. And clean up crews were sent in. Then the crews were dying.

I see similar shadows here. maybe not as deadly(?!?!) but the same coverup and disregard for life from the offender.

The key difference is that the CDC people are all surely fully COVID vaxxed and boosted, and are trained pronoun compliant. Therefore, the Federales will worry about them. Now as far as the mere East Palestine residents, they do not care.

      Yahbut…
When the CDC “admits” that their team’s maladies were all found to be attributable to the vax, that’s when East Palestine residents will REALLY start to worry.

Oops. Not a good look when the team from the govt themselves report the same sorts of symptoms of exposure. Doubtless there are areas with higher concentrations of these chemicals than other areas.

And people wondered 🤔 why President Biden didn’t go.

Well, golly, Beav, I don’t know what that might mean. I’m sure Dad can explain it when he gets home.

Also, no offense to the folks living there, I don’t think anxiety is caused by the chemicals, but more by the act of the derailment itself.

This story just gets worst worst and worst.

I’ve worked with acrolein, and it’s very nasty. The odor makes your nose and eyes burn like fire, and if any gets on your skin, it causes blistering. Vinyl chloride is also on the list of highly toxic chemicals, and I would never want to breathe any of it. Vinyl chloride boils under 10 degrees F, so it should dissipate rather quickly. But it’s heavier than air, so it will stay close to the ground. These two chemicals could easily cause the symptoms of the residents and the CDC.

I’m fascinated, but not surprised, at the shallowness of the “reporting” on the stuff that got loose. There’s a ton of info in the standard hazardous material forms — whatever the proper name is; somebody round here knows. Yet, the talking heads natter on in ignorance.

We have a hell of a time governing ourselves for our own advantage, working from ignorance. I don’t so much mind getting government as dumb as I am. I do mind getting government, policy, and prescription even dumber than I am.

Mayor Pete may need a couple more months off to recuperate from being exposed to the New Palestine air for 15 minutes during his Handyman Hank photo op

“… found it suspicious they became ill at the same time with the same symptoms.”

Suspicious? Well geepers. Whatever could the common factor be? Seriously, what the hell did they expect?

These are the “experts”, God help us..
