Poll: 49.7% of Cambridge University Students Identify as Heterosexual

Fewer than half of students at Cambridge University are heterosexual… with a third identifying as bisexual, survey suggests
Less than half of students at Cambridge University now identify as heterosexual, a survey has found.
Around 600 undergraduates took part in the anonymous online poll for student newspaper Varsity last month.
Of those, just 49.7 per cent said they were heterosexual, against 11.9 per cent who said they were homosexual and around a third, 29.7 per cent, who said they were bisexual.
The remainder were more creative with their answers, with one claiming their sexuality was ‘rower’.
The results show a large rise in the number of homosexual or bisexual students compared to six years ago, when a similar survey by online student newspaper The Tab found 19 per cent of students at Cambridge were gay or bisexual.
The findings of the Varsity poll also tally with a survey by Oxford University’s student paper Cherwell, which found 49 per cent of students identified as heterosexual and 33 per cent said they were bisexual.
Similarly, a YouGov study said half of young people did not consider themselves to be exclusively heterosexual.
The 2015 poll, which had a much bigger survey sample, asked participants to place themselves on the Kinsey scale which plots individuals based on the sexuality they identify with.
Pieter Garicano, editor of Cherwell, told Varsity: ‘It’s fascinating to see the resemblance in outcomes between Oxford and Cambridge.
‘One wonders whether this is due to the similarities in student populations or because Varsity and Cherwell draw similar types of readership.’

It is an online survey. It is meaningless. The majority of respondents are those who think their imaginary identities are important. Most normies likely wouldn’t participate in such nonsense.

I came out of a Catholic HS. Slacks, sportcoats, and ties every day — not uniform colors, but conventional businesswear.
When I got into college, people asked me why I had to be such a “conformist?” Why didn’t I wear bluejeans… like everyone else on campus?
(I don’t believe I wore a bluejean until my late 20s. For physical jobs I did compromise on brown-jeans.)
As an early-to-mid boomer, this is what drove me the craziest about my contemporaries in the 60s: the conformity hypocrisy. The media swooned over our bravery at doin’ our own thing. “Own.” Yeah, right. They never ever mentioned the conformity. Glad to see someone else bringing it up.
My mom wouldn’t let us girls wear jeans that zipped up the front. (she thought it made us look as if we had had male anatomy). We could wear jeans if they zipped up the side. (But these were the 60s and 70s, not the 50s). And we couldn’t wear jean overalls, because they looked like potato sacks. So we’d borrow from our friends. My mom then relented and allowed me in 8th grade to get Sears Toughskins, in a burgundy color with the semi – invisible patches on the knees. Humiliating.

Transubstantiation is difference from transgender.
All of the self ID as “bisexual” makes more sense if you read it as “liesexual”. As in, the vast majority of them aren’t really attracted to the same sex, and just identify as bi because it gets them into the rainbow without having to do gay stuff.
