I’d rather it be DeSantis and anybody instead of Trump. The Democrats will lie, cheat and steal to beat anybody or anything to do with Trump. Look at AZ. They screwed Lake to the wall, just because of Trump. His rant the other night at DeSantis was unhinged. Trump did a good job as POTUS, especially with everything aligned against him. But he will not be allowed to win again. If we are going to save America, it ain’t gonna be with him involved, sorry. I supported him for the past 7 years, but it’s time for him to let it the fuck go.
“The Democrats will lie, cheat and steal to beat anybody or anything.” FIFY
Do you really think they will let up if Pres. Trump pulls out? Look what they’ve been doing to DeSantis already, especially when they weren’t trying to drive a wedge between him and Trump.
Look what they did with McCain, Romney, Bush, etc. It is only going to get worse, and perhaps a guy that has been fire tested in the gauntlet might be the best choice. Maybe his plan is to draw their fire while the Republicans get their game on (snort!).
We should be focusing on getting the voter rolls fixed and minimizing the effects of the mail in/early ballot and illegals voting.
In the meantime, the Dems will continue to f-up, although they will blame most of it on the new Republican controlled House.
Buckle your seat belts. It’s going to be a rough ride.
The media has already come after DeSantis and couldn’t make any of it stick. Nor does DeSantis generate the visceral negative reaction and outright hate among some voters that DJT does.
The media will go after whomever the r nominee is, Romney was cast as the devil. The thing is though the bloom is off that particular rose so to speak.
The playbook is pretty worn and tired at this point and it’s less effective because many voters have finally caught on to it. Launching attacks and trying to demonize future presidential candidates will be more difficult. While DJT does bear the damage done when the demonize strategy reached its zenith.
I will vote for either DJT or DeSantis in the general. We can not refuse to do so and simply hand the d/prog the Presidency through a forfeit because our ‘guy’ didn’t secure the nomination.
The Constitution prohibits electing a President and Vice-President from the same state. I will predict that the governor of Florida will not move out of Florida just to become eligible for Vice-President.
Henry is correct, I don’t know why this myth has staying power. The ticket can have two from the same state but electors can only vote for one and not both. If anyone is to move in such a scenario, it would be Trump. He’s already got several places in NY and I think NJ he could claim a residence.
It’s ridiculous, though, because DeSantis is not second fiddle, beta male, ribbon snipping material. And it would be a huge mistake after the results of the last three elections to tie himself to Trump. If DeSantis does this, he loses all respect.
LOL, I love gonzo, actually, so I could see that happening.
I used to like Marco Rubio, though, and no longer do (though I voted for him because he was better than Val Demings). Ditto with Paul Ryan; I liked him when he started out Tea Party, but then he went crazy neocon. Politicians are not our friends or family, and when they screw up, they lose my support. DeSantis on a Trump ticket would be a huge screw up.
Thank you for the correction Colonel. I suppose (in theory, assuming Republicans couldn’t rustle up 270 electoral votes for both candidates) that if they had control of either the Senate or a majority of House delegations they could use the Electoral college to elect either the President or Vice-President, and then use a contingent election to elect the other one (I bet that would make liberal heads explode 🙂 ).
Absolutely. And his candidacy does not preclude anyone else from running. If DeSantis decided to give it a go, and could pull it off, I would have no trouble voting for him.
But given Trump v. Biden, it is Trump all the way (to the bank).
And? Does Trump have corporate media? Does Trump have big tech? Does Trump have Academia on his side? I could go on but Biden is able to win despite his weaknesses Trump can’t.
When you nominate someone detested by 60% with 100% name recognition you can’t expect to win.
By the way here is something to consider
For exactly how weak Trump was in 2016
1. Despite the built in hatred for Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton got significantly more votes than Donald Trump
2. Mitt Romney got more votes than Trump in Wisconsin.
We barely won in the electoral college while being defeated in the popular vote (with 46% of the vote) in 2016. We then outright lost the remaining elections to present (Trump lost every competitive election for us in 2022).
They were, and they are still able to do it because of:
– The cowardice of all those who refused, and still refuse to acknowledge that the 2020 election was stolen.
– The cowardice of not demanding a full and transparent investigation of all the irregularities and fraud.
– The cowardice of allowing the same corrupt ballot harvesting practices again in 2022.
– The cowardice of not standing against the Jan 6 kangaroo court and all their blatant disregard of the Rule Of Law and the Constitution.
– The cowardice of not standing against the politicization of the FBI and all the abuse of power derived from it.
But it’s easier to blame the mean tweets. That attitude fits perfectly within that pattern of cowardice.
Agreed. Why is it not enough that we all have to accept Biden as president but have to swallow the story that the 2020 election “was the best run election evah?”
We know that the mail in ballots are rife with fraud. The rest of the world agrees. Early voting puts you out of late developments, and motor voter allows illegals to vote, particularly since purging the voter rolls is such an onerous task.
On another thought, why don’t they put the mail in ballot drop off boxes in the post office? At least there would be some supervision, and it would shorten the chain of custody (presuming it still exists).
Just terrific! This formerly Conservative site has fulfilled every demonrat wet dream. Pitting Conservatives against each other and battle lines are being drawn as I type.
How about we stop throwing spit balls and start thinking of who can win AND what can be done with the voting system in our country that reeks of corruption? We could present the candidate of absolute perfection and that person would lose in a landslide considering the lack of power we now have, and have had for many years. The problem is that we could think tank all day and as soon as any viable solution is found, the info goes to demonrat think tanks for how to destroy that platform. We still have two years, but so far the best we can do is massively get out the vote. Still, as long as the demon team can draw out counting votes until they *win* we all are sunk.
Great idea. Let’s all unify at a minimum until the midterms are concluded and agree that any political figures who put themselves and their political future ahead of getting Walker over in GA is violating the spirit of that unity.
I don’t doubt that low bar will be rejected by those who prefer to advance themselves over the spirit of ….oh wait …someone already did. Yesterday.
The nomination will not be handed over uncontested. An incumbent may deserve such consideration but we don’t have an incumbent POTUS in our party. Whomever is ultimately selected as the nominee will have to earn it.
Right. I expected the announcement, and was hoping Trump would during the speech go into a lot more detail about the good that Republican governors, U.S. senators and house members could do. For example, what Abbott did today. See, https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/11/abbott-calls-out-the-guard.php
In any event, Trump’s speech this evening was much like all his recent rally speeches, except that (i) but for a brief comment about China being involved in te 2020 election, he did not relitigate that election, and (ii) he officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 election.
Meanwhile Governor Abbott has declared the border crisis an invasion, and using the Federal Constitutions power toallow states to rep[el invasions has called out the NG to repel it. No longer an immigration matter once he does that. Any judge taking on the case and ruling against him will be ignored. Rughtly so. It’s a battlhe now between two Chief Exxecutives. I can just see Biden going live to condemn this and answer quesions live…
That is incorrect. President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas NG at Little Rock. President Kennedy federalized the Alabama NG at the Univ of Alabama. In neither was the permission of the Gov needed.
All the POTUS has to do is sign an order placing that particular State’s NG on Federal status. This can be done in whole or in part. The permission of the Gov is not required for this to occur. It effectively bypasses the GOV and removes the particular units or individuals from State control for the duration of the order.
That was then, this is now. Remember hurricane Katrina? Rememebr how Bush couldn’t activate the LA NG without the governor’s permission? All orders to activate teh Guard today are issued through teh governor of the state, who may decline to do so.
10 U.S. Code § 12406 “(3)the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States;
the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary to repel the invasion, suppress the rebellion, or execute those laws. Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States or, …
Exactly what would be the reason for activating- AND PAYING- the TX NG? WHat would Biden do with them? Send them to Poland?
You are not following the logic of your own argument.
1. If Abbott calls forth the TXNG to State Duty then they are now activated.
2. Biden then signs an order bringing those members/units (already activated by Abbott) under Federal control.
3. Biden then tells them to go home, mission over.
4. Rinse and repeat.
The Feds usually play nice with the Gov re use of NG. They do so because it is better to have a good working relationship. The Feds can act without State permission. Especially when the Gov has already activated the NG.
The problem with Gov attempting to use the NG re immigration is that CT ruled that the Federal govt has exclusive dominion over naturalization and immigration.
When we have a POTUS who refuses to take his responsibility re border enforcement seriously the States have very little they can do directly.
The strategy used by DeSantis and Abbott in sending illegals to blue enclaves is one of the outside the box ideas that was successful in bringing attention to the failure of Biden. It attacks the failure indirectly.
We should preserve your comment for revist after the inevitable Trump crash and burn. There are better options than the great Cheeto. Trump has become politically toxic and it is all his own doing.
That is a rather bizarre take. A more rational outlook is DeSantis is Trump without the baggage. That makes him a much better choice. Same is true about Youngkin.
Agreed, but let him run the gauntlet of the primaries and the hostile press as Trump has done (above and beyond the call of duty). It will make him a better candidate, tested and ready to rock. The gauntlet includes running up against Trump, which will also hone him to a fine edge.
The Dems, presuming to change in POTUS, will not be primary tested, but they will be concentrating their energies on the next cheat.
“As predicted” Trump scares all you marxists. Really scares you. Even with every resource at the disposal of the federal government (FBI, DOJ, CIA, etc) you can’t find anything he’s done wrong to hang him with. You make stuff up.
You’re nothing more that a deep state marxist intent upon the destruction of America.
Do you think Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman is a Marxist? He’s dropped Trump like a hot rock. You really don’t gain anything with your insults and name-calling. In fact, you’re pushing people toward DeSantis.
Of course it is about him. It was in 2016 too, but this time, he has a record of presidential accomplishments that will be difficult to dispute. They will try to bury it though.
As I remember, Pence issued his letter outlining why he wouldn’t challenge the election result… on 1/6. He could have easily issued the letter days before 1/6 and settled that issue…but no. Why so late and with no time for the marchers to know about it? It’s almost as if……
Nobody thought he had the authority to refuse electoral votes and he had made that clear well in advance. He made it clear he wasn’t overturning the election well in advance and was attacked by fake news sites like GatewayPundit.
Issuing a formal letter is not meaningful it is no different than writing an op ed.
Nobody thought the election was undecided on Jan 6th. The vote count is purely a formality.
Some snake, hope we can get a few more snakes like him lined up:
1) stopped ISIS cold
2) EO stopping the drug companies from charging medicare more than what they charged foreign countries
3) EO forcing hospitals to disclose their prices
4) Move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem
5) ENERGY INDEPENDENCE for the first time in my lifetime of 70 years, and record low energy prices
6) Started no new wars
7) Elimination of regulations, required to eliminate 8 to add a new one
8) Cut Taxes across the board
9) Increased the individual tax credit eliminating the need to file more complicated returns
10) Started the space force, sorely needed today
11) Replaced NAFTA with an agreement better for American workers
12) Put tariffs on china, starting the process of moving American production out of the enemy’s land
13) Brought back massive amounts of money saved in foreign countries
14) Withdrew from the farce know as the Paris Climate Accords
15) Withdrew from the Iran deal
16) Increased the $$$ of the average family by over 5K IIRC
17) Started the process of fixing the VA
18) Increased the spending by other NATO countries
19) Killed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)
20) Created several million jobs, actual creation not bafflegab bullshit
21) Economic growth rates were going up, somewhere around 4% before the marxist killed the economy with the scam chinaVirus
22) Lowest rate of unemployment ever, across the board for blacks, hispanics, asians, veterans, etc.
23) Opened ANWAR and had the Keystone pipeline being constructed
There is much more of course.
That’s just a short list. Trump did this by himself, with little to no help from the republican party opposition from the republican party and the democrats. He did this while the deep state through the FBI, intelligence agencies, congress, and the DOJ were conducting illegal surveillance and investigations. But Trump didn’t falter, didn’t stop. He just kept on working.
No one else was capable of doing this, no one else has ever done this, no one else will.
Yeah, he was pretty terrible. Restored American greatness. Too bad we aren’t allowed to remember that. It would make a hell of a commercial buy though.
I am old enough to remember people saying a businessman should be President.
Trump represents the principles of the constitution, a government by, for and of the people. No more career politicians, right or left!
Unfortunately DJT endorsed McCarthy for Speaker. McCarthy is the epitome of the establishment, DC insider, perpetually afraid that if he actually takes on tough issues and does want the r base wants that he won’t receive invitations on cocktail party circuit and that the media will say mean things about him.
Here we go again, only this time I don’t give a crap anymore. The communists will cheat no matter what, and since they’ve never been held to account for it, they will have no restraint nor will they hesitate to do so. Their difficulty is coming up with a different scam to justify the irregularities and the slow-rolling of counting. I’m done with it, destroy the country, I no longer give a shit.
So. If we do not bow down and demonstrate complete devotion and fealty to the one first in line for the next vacancy in the Holy Trinity, we are Marxists?
Boo! It would have been hilarious if he had filed as a Democrat.
I hope he doesn’t do too much more damage to the GOP, the eventual nominee, doesn’t run third party afterward, and his followers don’t take their ball and go home.
Trump running again is exactly how you end up with four more years of Joe Biden. Trump will force the more viable, less toxic candidates with less baggage out of the race making it easier for sleepy Joe to bamboozle the masses a second time.
That’s an huge assumption on the health of Biden. He could be in a vegetative state in six months.I’m not opposed to Trump running again, especially if Biden can’t for the above reasons.
We’re more than a year out before a vote is cast in a primary or caucus. There’s plenty of time to figure out who is the best person for the GOP nomination. In that year if you’re living in a blue or even purple state, learn how to ballot harvest. The only way we ever win again is beating the Dems at their own.
For the people that don’t want to get down in the dirt to fight the Dems, being a noble loser gets you nothing in American politics. Abe Lincoln bent the Constitution to the point of breaking it to get us through the Civil War.
Unlike the Trump cultists, I would support Trump in the general if he wins the nomination. I see it as a losing battle, but I’d vote for the most unpopular person on earth over what the other side is bringing these days.
What I won’t do is support Trump if he loses the nomination and decides to run independent, which would be a move that means he is all about himself. It would be interesting to hear what the Trump lovers would do if that happens. In particular, I’d be interesting to hear a “pledge” from Phil since he is so big on pledges (including made up ones that never happened).
Trump is a clown. He has gone one insult too many for my taste. One gratuitous smear too many. I will be with DeSantis or someone who actually can be an adult.
The New York Times assembled 17 “swing voters” to get them to gripe about Trump (which they did – many blamed him for the poor showing by Republicans in last week’s election).
“The election is held today. It’s Donald Trump versus Joe Biden, and you can vote for either of them, or you can explicitly say, ‘I would not vote.’ But you have to choose Trump, Biden or not vote. Who chooses Donald Trump? [Nine people raise a hand.] Who chooses Joe Biden? [Six people raise a hand.] Who will not vote? [Two people raise a hand.]”
People may hate him, but they will still vote for him.
Grover Cleveland won the popular vote 3 times. He is not similar to Trump.
Trump was the one who lost in 2022. The candidates he picked to replace Republican incumbents all lost. Even the deepest red districts got into play thanks to Trump.
It was a greatspeech but Trump is incapable of staying on message like that for any long period of time and all of his candidates other than De Santis that he campaigned for in 2018 or endorsed in the crucial swing states lost . DeSantis would have a great chance against Biden or any other radical Democrat
I don’t think he did a bad job as the Pandemic President, given what the left threw at him. However, I am tired of geriatric leaders. We need a strong candidate that won’t be collecting social security before their term is up.
Two observations after reading these posts:
– I stick with my view that 2024 should be an election of the next generation and the party that first puts forth a credible younger candidate and makes that a theme will have “first mover” advantage.
– I am tired of the claims about Dem cheating with mail-in ballots, etc. You play the game the way the rules permit and the Republicans did not, in either 2020 or 2022. Because of redistricting, my district was a nationally known swing district with a Democrat incumbent. I have been on the voter rolls for decades and obviously a Senior conceivably in need of help voting. I got zero contact from the Republican, who did win by about 4 points, other than the usual glossy mailers. If you run an election like it was 50 years ago, you deserve to lose.
If you mean fortunes in electoral politics 60% do not like him, and nobody has no opinion on him and nobody is changing their minds.
The longer he stays in charge of the party the worst off we are.

What?!
The GOP is a dead letter with people like McConnell running it.
McConnell hates Trump with a passion. Never Trumpers love McConnell because the enemy of your enemy is your Friend.
Why do you think that DeSantis would even consider such a demotion?
He’s the only one standing between them and us
Just look at what they have done to this country in 2 short years
Trump 2024
And they were able to do it because of Trump’s hissy fit in Dec 20 – Jan 21 that handed 2 GA Senate seats to the Dems.
AZ is now blue and PA and NH solidly so.
Trump is a disaster, Inarticulate, insecure, narcissistic and frankly just not very bright. And he is too old.
Give me DeSantis any day. Smart, articulate, young and every bit the fighter that Trump is without all the selfish baggage.
“Trump is a disaster, Inarticulate, insecure, narcissistic and frankly just not very bright. And he is too old.”
Add corrupt, drugged out son, and you completely describe Biden. And Trump didn’t try to deliberately destroy the country.
Seems like we might try to aim higher, then, no?
Absolutely. And his candidacy does not preclude anyone else from running. If DeSantis decided to give it a go, and could pull it off, I would have no trouble voting for him.

Trump won 2020, even brain dead Biden knows
Two words: Beto. Abrams.
No, Pete and repeat.
Now that would be fun.
Michelle Obama. Kamala Harris
Make Me President Again
As predicted, he made this about him.
How can people continue to defend the narcissistic and divisive political time bomb that he has become?
It worked for Obdumbo. Twice.
Trump 2024 !
The only thing that scares us about Trump being nominated for the general election is that Democrats will sweep the ballot from top to bottom.
Marxist from your mouth has no meaning whatsoever.
LOL I’m not scared of Trump. Do you think I’m secretly Pierre Delecto or something???
What scares me about Trump is your kind…the useful idiots that won’t vote for anyone else that could actually win.
He also has a laundry list of failures. He buried himself in those.
Pence is making squeaks.. I hope they have debate.
Pence is a phony
/Truth. https://legalinsurrection.com/2020/12/january-6-no-mike-pence-cant-just-reject-electoral-certifications/
A wooden nickle, so to speak… Yeah,, milquetoast.
Mice always do when you step on them.
Pence is someone I would not vote for over Trump. God help us if those two are our choices.
They won’t be. Pence can’t win any more than Trump can.
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin, “you knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.”
No wonder the Dem socialists hate him so.
Spot on.
You are allowed to remember whatever you want, that’s the beauty of America (for now).
The problem is a majority see it very differently from you and your group of selective memory sufferers.
Pretty much what my husband said.
My wife as well. She predicted this last election, saying the record of Biden would make no difference with the Dem cheating operation.
She was right (don’t tell her I said that!).
Cheaters, cheaters never win. They always get it…always get it in the end.
Now isn’t the time to roll over and play dead.
Anyone surprised by this is either paying no attention or at a level of unsurpassed ignorance.
Trump just put the entire GOPe on notice. He’s coming for all you marxists and he has a large backup, 70+ million strong.
So. If we do not bow down and demonstrate complete devotion and fealty to the one first in line for the next vacancy in the Holy Trinity, we are Marxists?
No that is what Dems do.
And they are Marxists.
Biden had 81. Gonna fight the same war twice?
Did Trump announce whether he is running as a “Republican” again or has he officially reverted to his “past” affiliation of Democrat?
Here is the filing.. It says Rep.
https://docquery.fec.gov/pdf/249/202211159546802249/202211159546802249.pdf
Boo! It would have been hilarious if he had filed as a Democrat.
I hope he doesn’t do too much more damage to the GOP, the eventual nominee, doesn’t run third party afterward, and his followers don’t take their ball and go home.
Did anyone ask that of President Reagan?
Yes.
And how did it work out?
Very well for America. As did Trump’s presidency. Can Trump win again? I don’t believe so, but I guess we’ll find out.
My point exactly. And if he doesn’t make the primary cut, he will have prepped the next in line.
This is a very good move for him. Running will keep the DOJ off his back for the next two years.
I was thinking about that very thing earlier this evening.
How about the useful idiot in NY?
Which one?
LaTitia.
Trump running again is exactly how you end up with four more years of Joe Biden. Trump will force the more viable, less toxic candidates with less baggage out of the race making it easier for sleepy Joe to bamboozle the masses a second time.
Exactly.
Everyone has made up their minds already about him.
I think he is vegetative already, but the Dems are playing “Weekend at Bernie’s” with his shell.
Indeed. We need folks who prove capable of winning fights. People who don’t achieve victory and raise their hand to be sworn in …are less impressive.
I can hear the “abandon Trump, he’s toxic” meme revving up in the mainstream media. Coming in 3…2…1…
If you want Mr. Trump to run in general, you will need to find someone who can defeat him in the primary.
Conservative outlets, if he wins the primary, I would hope you would support him in the general. (I wish I could say expect them to.)
Eventually, if you wish conservative outcomes, one finds they must vote for the person running as a conservative.
Thankfully the left cannot meme. That’s a fact. Trust me, I am science.
Hee!
No, the mainstream media and the democrats WANT Trump to run. That is why they are giving him all this media coverage. Their dream has come true.
Not just in the media.
Trump is a clown. He has gone one insult too many for my taste. One gratuitous smear too many. I will be with DeSantis or someone who actually can be an adult.
But he indisputably produced for the country.
You aren’t marrying him, you know.
I am not voting for a 78 year old man running for President.
Do you see any age related issues with him, or are you just ageist?
I’m all in, but right now feeling they have their vote fraud down very well and will do it again and again so it may not matter who runs.
The New York Times assembled 17 “swing voters” to get them to gripe about Trump (which they did – many blamed him for the poor showing by Republicans in last week’s election).
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/11/15/opinion/voter-reactions-midterm-elections.html
But, buried in the article:
“The election is held today. It’s Donald Trump versus Joe Biden, and you can vote for either of them, or you can explicitly say, ‘I would not vote.’ But you have to choose Trump, Biden or not vote. Who chooses Donald Trump? [Nine people raise a hand.] Who chooses Joe Biden? [Six people raise a hand.] Who will not vote? [Two people raise a hand.]”
People may hate him, but they will still vote for him.
It was worse with the “Should Biden run again?” survey groups.
And rightly so.
You should never form any conclusion based on a poll of 17 people.
So, in a heavily divided country that’s the best you have?
“Support Trump, he’s better than not voting at all”
Sounds like a losing message to me.
As Biden plays Woodrow Wilson, the question is whether Trump will play Grover Cleveland or Teddy Roosevelt.
We have a year to see how Trump ages and how his challengers campaign; and what the democrats will do.
While the republican’s loss poses questions of how viable their old guard is, the democrat’s success allows their old guard to continue on.
Democrat’s success could lead to some interesting matchups:
Biden/Fetterman 2024
It’s a No-Brainer!
Kamala Harris would blow them away!
Grover Cleveland won the popular vote 3 times. He is not similar to Trump.
Trump was the one who lost in 2022. The candidates he picked to replace Republican incumbents all lost. Even the deepest red districts got into play thanks to Trump.
The Ds handed this to him by cheating in AZ against Lake and Masters.
A significant amount of people are going to see the cheating in 2022 as confirmation that things were cheated in 2020.
Credible elections are important, and the Ds have abandoned that idea. Without credible elections, the consequences will be worse than we can imagine.
Agreed. Credible elections are the foundation of the country.
Which party is trying to destroy that foundation? (that’s a rhetorical question, of course)
It was a greatspeech but Trump is incapable of staying on message like that for any long period of time and all of his candidates other than De Santis that he campaigned for in 2018 or endorsed in the crucial swing states lost . DeSantis would have a great chance against Biden or any other radical Democrat
It really was a great speech, but unless there are drastic changes in the next 2 years, neither Trump nor any other R has a chance in 2024.
So, just because the Democrats cheat we have to pick up our money and pack up our tent?
Geez oh Lou, what a bunch of milquetoast fluffs you are!
Democrats did not cheat in 2022 we lost because in the actual competitive races we ran weak candidates who beat the 2020 drums.
Fringe theories when exposed to reality die. Reality has a way of reasserting itself.
I will ONLY back risk of losing for a principle not a prince.
I do not owe Trump another 4 years of Biden and I am very sorry to see you do feel you owe him Biden’s re-election.
Walls closing in on Trump ? Think again ..
https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1592248515543326720
If you mean is he going to jail probably not.
If you mean fortunes in electoral politics 60% do not like him, and nobody has no opinion on him and nobody is changing their minds.
The longer he stays in charge of the party the worst off we are.
