‘Betrayal of the Country’: Leftists Vent Fury After SCOTUS Overturns Roe v. Wade
The hyperbole. Goodness.
The world is going to end because Roe is gone. The reactions are as priceless as you’d imagine.
Abortion is not in the Constitution. Bearing arms is in the Constitution.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has taken away our right to abortion and overturned Roe v. Wade, opening the floodgates for states across the country to ban abortion.
The court has failed us all — but this is far from over. ⤵

BREAKING: The Supreme Court just reversed nearly 50 years of precedent and overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the federal constitutional right to abortion.
We won't deny what a horrible moment this is.
Half of the states are expected to ban abortion.

Perhaps Roe can be salvaged if women reclassify their vaginas as holsters. #iykyk
— Jon Stewart (@jonstewart) June 23, 2022
The Court's decision to overturn Roe endangers women everywhere, by taking away their right to make their own health care choices.
This court isn't conservative – it's partisan, with a socially backward agenda.
They can't be trusted to protect our rights, so the Congress must.

1) Schumer: Today is one of the darkest days our country has ever seen. Millions upon millions of American women are having their rights taken from them by five unelected Justices on the extremist MAGA court.

The Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade is an assault on the rights of women across America, which we cannot allow to stand.
“We the People” means something and we must exercise our voices in November, and refuse to let our country be pushed back 50 years.

I believe we got to this point because the Left went straight up moonbat. The pendulum is swing back, hopefully, to sanity-but I fear that it may overswing in the other, extreme direction.
The Left does not have to go straight to moonbat. It’s always there.
The biggest Abortion supporters I know are middle-aged Catholic women who lean in and whisper, “What would we do with all those little black babies?”
I don’t know, act like a Catholic and take care of them? My team sometimes really pisses me off.
Yah sure Matt…that’s who run with middle aged Catholic white women whispering nasty racist things….sure we all believe you..got to post your daily load of anti Catholic bigotry…
Feelz better now?
Sampling? Why would you even say that? The biggest abortion supporters I know are underage Chinese raped by Black Cambodians on a dadgum Ferris wheel in Mongolia.
Why is that comment here?
I sometimes wonder if you could substitute Jewish and “little schvartzers “?
That’s true. The pendulum swings back and forth overtime with changes in political fortunes. My question to you would be why are you concerned about overreach from the right? There’s zero evidence that will happen in DC, see the current gun legislation sailing through.
The establishment right in DC continually refuses to exercise power in the same tenacious manner as the d/prog. As a single example: where’s the completed border wall? In 2017 and 2018 r held the WH, the Senate and the HoR yet they failed to get legislation and funding for THE signature 2016 campaign issue.
This decision simply pushes the issue back to the State level. Each State legislature, informed by the Citizens of their State and taking into account the differences in culture and history will decide 50 separate solutions that match the unique character of each State.
What’s so bad about Federalism? Every voter gets a shot at making their voice heard. If they wish they can then vote with their feet to find a home in a State with a political climate more to their liking. All that happened today is an end to the previous 50 year reign of a poorly decided one size fits all opinion.
perchance you have heard of the Patriot Act???
Nice but I meant overreach that benefited the small govt, limited govt principles the r establishment claims to represent.
Batting for the other team, a totalitarian minded bureaucracy and revolving door opportunists who willingly use the full apparatus of the State to achieve and maintain control doesn’t count.
ah I misunderstood before, sorry
No worries.
^^^ This ^^^ Show me ANYONE on the right ready to repeal it. Or asset forfeiture. Or The War On Drugs (no-knock raids, needing to sign a book and provide ID to buy non-scrip meds).
The GOPe voted to renew FISA a few years ago even after the verifiable abuse. ‘Nuff said.
Here’s two in DC.
Sen Rand Paul and Rep Thomas Massie.
Then there’s you and me and a bunch of others outside DC.
No leftist is ready to battle beyond their usual threats or violence for Roe v Wade. They re cowards, losers and idiots. What did they do when they lost the New York case? Whine, moan and bitch and pass laws that they know they can’t enforce. Nobody lost ANY rights under this Dobbs decision. Slattern women wanting abortions can still go over state lines and obtain one, but this time they have to pay money for it. Oh heavens to Betsy! How dare they have to cough up the cash to pay for their own bad choices?! It’s not like there’s a drug store or convenience store on every corner offering a myriad of contraception that they are either too lazy, stupid, cheap or a combination of the foregoing to use and try to make society pay for their horniness. Well now that stops. They have to pay for their impulses. And as my father, DrSamHerman always said, the most important person in self-care was SELF. Heaven forbid some stupid teenagers had to learn a hard lesson from not being prepared for the consequences of cheap, drunken or badly made decisions. Growing up is difficult. Well, SCOTUS just made it a fact of life. As it should have been ALL ALONG.

The beginning of the swing is usually welcome, even by the other side even if they won’t admit it. Then it gets unwelcome and unreasonable. It’ll happen again.
Roe was just overturned and you’re already worried about the pendulum swinging back? It took 50 years and who knows how many tens of millions of snuffed-out human beings to get here. I don’t know how much more extreme you can get that what we just ended.
Actually, I think all this is good.
Its almost like scales falling off, eyes opened, unmasking and even separating wheat from tares.
True colors and agendas are coming out in droves.
Now, do the sheeple stand with the tablets or the cow?
It would not surprise me if this isn’t by design.
Schumer – Millions upon millions of American women are having their rights taken from them by five unelected Justices on the extremist MAGA court.
Well, if your position is so mainstream, through elected representatives make sure state laws reflect it or amend the US Constitution.
You just nailed it!!! That’s the issue, it forces them to spread out and convince the majority to their way of thinking instead of allowing them to just push it through a very small area of the country.
“opening the floodgates for states across the country to ban abortion.”
So? Move to a friendlier state… like you’ve forced gun owners, dealers, and manufacturers to do for the past 50 years.
Ya damn snowflakes, throw a little of YOUR money at U-Haul, for a change.
I’m pro-abortion. My response to this ruling is the same as yours: The legislative means are available to establish the laws people want. So quit whining and change the law.
At least Schiff gets it. It’s Congress’s job to pass new law, not the court’s.
Their tears are delicious.
And Whiny Green Jacket Lady never ages a day.
Much like Pelosi, whose face seems forever frozen at 80.
B”H” The day finally came. Thank you Prof. Beiser ztl for everything

I think abortion will in fact be banned outright someday but for reasons of demographic decline. In effect drafting women to have kids.
Every single leftist screaming about loss of rights…my body my choice…forced medical decisions..loss of medical privacy…financial implications etc etc can all just STFU. They have FOREVER lost the right to bring up any of that because of what they said and did and are still doing regarding Covid vaccines.
Yes, it’s a betrayal of the country that women can no longer murder future Americans.
These people are sick.
That argument might have had better traction with Democrats if you’d said “future taxpayers”.
Probably not, since they apparently aren’t moved by the “future Democrat voters” argument.
And when they are, they actually screw up and manufacture future Republican voters.
txvet2 is probably right.
I’m usually a good sport, but in this case I relish watching the left absolutely lose its shit.
As with every other outcome the d/prog and the leftists only respect the process when the results are in their favor. They are now experiencing and coming to terms with what our side endured for 50 years post Roe.
They’ve been so outrageous that I have to agree.
Define “women”. Since when did Pelosi become a biologist?
For just an instant, I red that as Pepsi Cola.
Today this is the last news I will read today, the day Roe is overturned should be a fun day so I would advise everyone else to also make this the last news of the day.
One of my favorites is the claim that this is “proof” that the SC will also overturn interracial marriage. Yeah, I’m sure Justice Thomas will happily rule that his own marriage is unconstitutional.
I just left my wife. I’m not even sure she was black. What an opening!
A point I made talking to my father this morning. Abortion will likely stay legal in many of the more liberal states, at one stage or another. However how long will that remain the case? California, New York, Illinois, three of the most liberal states and all bleeding out in terms of population. Even with illegal immigration California actually shrunk in terms of population in the last census. A shrinking populace means less power in DC in terms of representation in Congress. Now if more conservative states maintain stable populations or even increase how long will those liberal states continue to hold onto keeping abortion legal if it keeps depriving them of people?
Or, expressed as a bumper sticker:
If red, wimpled robes are ever manufactured, it will be in progressive sweatshops.
Abortion will most likely stay legal in even some conservative states, as evidenced by the law at the root of this decision allows essentially a first trimester for the decision to be made. So most of the country (geographically) and more than half (population wise) will still have it available, albeit with some time restrictions. From my experience most leaving CA are doing so to escape the crazy politics and resulting tax burden; those remaining will carry on the crazy. So even with the population shift that tail will have trouble wagging the dog. Note that with this past census CA lost one rep and Utah gained one, so the migration may have already had impact.
This decision re establishes the importance of federalism in the US -what goes in California, New York and Illinois may not fly at all in Mississippi.
President Pudding Cup is on TV now basically saying, “We don’t care what SCOTUS says: the baby extermination program will continue.”
But insurrectionists! J6! Democracy!
Paddy, those people did some bad things. I’d not have followed. Why would you have?
Mybe they did. Yet nothing bad enough to have been held virtually incommunicado in a literal dungeon for 18 months and counting, with no hearings, habeas corpus, or medical treatment.
Does this apply to pregnant men too?
I can’t answer that question. I’m not a biologist.
I’ve been trying to explain to myself why I’m a midget and have never been invited to sleep in any Oral Office. Orifice?
Anyway we midgets hate dwarves, Mr Burden is a dwarf of sorts. Are pygmies dwarfish?
I can’t believe the temper tantrums on the left when they don’t get their way. Roe was wrongly decided from a legal standpoint–there is no “penumbra” of rights in the Constitution that court relied on. Abortions will still be legal in some states–already Pritzker here in Illinois has signed legislation and has been talking about that’s going to be a money make here (which is disgusting, but par for the course).
The vile Dumb-o-crats are obnoxiously totalitarian and vindictive children. Histrionics, tantrums, threats and insults is the only way that they can respond to political misfortune.
Let’s not forget about all their appalling acts of violence, vandalism, arson and domestic terrorism.
Progs are acting like the world just ended today, which is weird because I thought we all died after net neutrality wasn’t adopted.
Huh…..
glorious day
Perspective – The Seattle Times said there were 500 protesters at the Federal Building protesting the over turn of Roe VS Wade. At the preCovid Bite of Seattle – which is a get together in the to celebrate food and fellowship – there were over 1.5 million people. Also Husky games fill the streets and highways were all backed up on game day to get to the stadium preCOVID.
Hmmm – The population is 650,000 plus in 2022 for Seattle. Granted people came to the Bite multiple times and people from all over traveled in to Seattle. So less that 0.08% of the 2022 population of Seattle protested. I saw King News 5 filming via helicopter of the protest and it was ~ one block. One block is about like people on lunch break with a good food truck out front of building.
I’m currently in Manhattan on the UWS. It seems like a normal day. No women demonstrating that I know of and the Catholic churches untouched, then again the UWS has a lot of young families with kids riding scooters. Abortion may be in the minds of the mothers but not a priority, after all they did have a couple of kids. Maybe I missed the modern day feminists that were screaming to the sky. I think this outrage is more so a media and social media creation in creation to boots on the ground experience.
IN 1973 when the left assumed this power. They took not only the baby’s rights but also the man’s rights. What law says a female right supersedes everyone else? I can’t seem to find one.
Without going into the legal reasoning of the decision, my question is this: does anyone think we, the public, will ever find out who really leaked the draft opinion over two months ago? My bet is a resounding NO.
