Bill Maher Takes On “Gender-Affirming Care”: “We’re literally experimenting on children”

Maher: “If we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay by 2054”

As usual, the left has invented a truly mind-bending term for the myriad horrific “treatments” inflicted upon children who claim to “feel like” they are the opposite sex than the one they were born.

In this instance, the left is happy to acknowledge that there are indeed two sexes because how else would they insist on puberty blockers, disfiguring surgeries, and the host of other “gender-affirming care” being pushed on children and their parents to remake a boy into a girl or vice versa?  Naturally, it’s not possible to do this, so that’s when the linguistic gymnastics come into play and new ‘gender identities’ have to be invented. The only one not available, apparently, is being happy in your own body even if you “feel like” it’s the “wrong” sex.

It’s all exhausting.  And it’s doing incredible damage to tens of thousands of children, damage that may not be fully understood for decades.  A fact leftwing comedian Bill Maher noted in his Friday monologue.

He makes a lot of interesting points, points that others like Andrew Sullivan have made but that will perhaps get more widespread attention coming from Maher.

He begins by observing the data on the percentage of the population that has historically identified as transgender, noting that it’s gone up quite sharply in recent years.

Via TMZ:

The “Real Time” host began his weekly editorial with some interesting stats … before 1946, only .08% of the population identified as LGBTQ. That number shot up to 2.6% among Baby Boomers. It shot up again to 4.2% with Gen X, 10.5% among Millennials and 20.8% with Gen Z.

He follows this up by joking that “if we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay in 2054.”

TMZ continues (somewhat gingerly):

Bill’s argument is laced with humor, but at its core, he’s saying especially when it comes to kids, their feelings are not always innate … he says they often react to trends, to friends, to social media and parents should not reflexively take their children down a path of gender reassignment until the child’s self-identity is certain. He zeroes in on hormone blockers on young kids, the consequences of which he thinks have been glossed over.

It’s an interesting, controversial argument he makes. Take a listen and judge for yourself.

Deadline has more:

Noting that polls have documented an exponential increase in those who claim LGBTQ status, he asked whether people should be allowed to ask, “What’s up with that?’

It wasn’t that long ago when adults asked children what they wanted to be when they grew up. “They meant what profession,” Maher joked.

He quoted a recent ACLU finding that claimed the controversy about abortion rights affects LGBTQ people more than so-called “Breeders.” While allowing that everyone should always be mindful of respecting and protecting others, he said, “Someone needs to say it – not everything’s about you. It’s okay to ask questions about something very new,” and turned toward the trend of putting young children on hormone blockers.

“We’re literally experimenting on children,” Maher claimed, adding that we don’t know about the long-term effects of that, “but logic tells you there’s going to be problems,” citing bone density and fertility, among other issues. “It’s not a lifestyle decision,” he added.

. . . . “Never forget childen are impressionable and very, very stupid,” Maher said. “A boy who thinks he’s a girl maybe is just gay – or whatever “Frazier” was, noting that being a girl doesn’t mean you have to act like a Kardashian. And maybe, if life makes you sad, “There are other solutions than hand me the dick saw.”

“I understand that being trans is different, it’s innate,” Maher said. “But kids do have phases. Kids are fluid about eveything. If they know at age 8 what they wanted to be, the world would be filled with cowboys and princesses.” He recalled, “I wanted to be a pirate. Thank God no one scheduled me for eye removal and peg leg surgery.”

There is nothing “gender-affirming” about experimenting with young, developing bodies in the name of wokeness. Maher’s right that society is much more accepting of everyone’s sexuality these days, and that’s a good thing, but it is horrifying that irreversible child mutilation is not just permitted but actively encouraged. It’s even become, as Maher notes, “trendy.”

Transgender conversion therapy (e.g. grooming), Mengele mandates, reproductive rites performed for social, redistributive, clinical, and fair weather causes. One step forward, two steps backward.

He encouraged all the crazies for decades, making millions, and now he’s surprised we have come to this

This clown – literally (and he is a funny clown) – is one of the inciters of all this insanity that he is suddenly complaining about. Then Elon Musk says he’s done with the democrat party, and Maher goes back to his former idiocy.

Exactly. And I don’t think he ever apologized to Dennis Prager, who told him on his show that all this shit was coming down two or three years ago. Maher and his Leftist guests all laughed at Prager. Who’s laughing now?

And still making bank off of it

So, if an anorexic child sees a doctor and tells them they feel their body is fat (they identify as fat), they are treated for mental illness. If they see a doctor and feel their body is the opposite gender (they identify as “transgender”), they must have their feelings affirmed. Both should be treated as mental illness, IMO. Remember, if you are born with a d*ck, you are not a chick…..

One day as young NCO I sat with a haggard, cynical, world weary SR Chief at bar after a joint deployment. We swapped stories as Soldiers and Sailors do and before long we were deep in our cups. Towards the end of the evening with a very wistful look he confided that ‘there are no chicks with d17$, only dudes with t1$’.

The purpose of “gender-affirming care” is to profit off of children. It works quite well. There is no experimentation involved.

The fact that it is extremely harmful is unimportant to the people engaged in it.

“Profit” off them? You mean “have sex with them”. Let’s say it as it is:

A few years up the road there is going to be an explosion of lawsuits when those kids grow up and realize what their parents allowed Doctors to do to them. When they come to their sense and realize that they can’t procreate all hell is going to break loose.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Gosport. | May 22, 2022 at 6:53 am

The doctors doing this stuff to kids are as bad as Mengele.

I think you are right here, and this is how they (and we because we are here now) will be judged. As diabolical genocidal freaks who are willing to harm human beings, children no less, in the name of some great woke godlet. It’s beyond belief that this is happening in the 2022.

This will be looked back on as just as debased and disgusting and intolerable as female genital mutilation once was (but that was back before clitorectomies were super fun and totally cool and “gender-affirming”).

IMO, the main reason the globalist machine is focusing on children with their vaccine madness is to sterilize children. These Nazis have finally imposed a “final solution” (actually a series of them) on their “overpopulated planet” madness. Everything they do leads to illness or death. And life expectancy is down for the first time in generations in this country and probably the entire world. Now we face the starvation “solution”. Paranoid? Sure. It’s all one big coincidence.

randian in reply to Pasadena Phil. | May 22, 2022 at 2:43 pm

No, if they are doing that it’s the population in the first world. They’re basically ignoring the third world. We all know who the majority first world population is.

CommoChief in reply to randian. | May 22, 2022 at 5:35 pm

The davos crowd has already arranged a food shortage and likely famine upcoming for the third world. They will happily allow them to starve.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to irv. | May 22, 2022 at 4:24 pm

I miss the days when profiting off children meant mom had to get THREE boxes of Boomies for the necessary number of box tops to get a Flash Gordon decoder ring.

I think that disgusting, depraved freaks have seen a chance to make a buck and are happy to take advantage, but no, there is no way on earth that the initial intention behind this sexualization of children, this prompting them into any one of a bazillion approved sexualities (heterosexuality is NOT approved) was about anything other than control and power.

The same is true of the racist “anti-racist” industry; it started out as a means to indoctrinate the nation’s children, to cow and ‘manage’ the population, that people are making big (huge) bank on it is a bonus windfall, not the point.

We will always be caught flat-footed by the left if we refuse to understand that their goal is exactly what they say it is: the destruction of every American institution, up to and including the Constitution, and our nation’s fundamental transformation. If they can get rich along the way, that’s good, grifters gotta grift. But the grift is not the goal, the endgame, and it never was.

WE are not doing anything, Maher, you leftist hack.

YOU and THE PEOPLE YOU CONTINUE TO SUPPORT are doing this.

You are against Maher taking the red pill? What is wrong with you? We are heading into an election where the McConnell Republicans winning would be a major defeat for those of us who hate the Republican wing of the Uniparty as much as we hate the Democrat wing. It would be the biggest Uniparty victory of all time! If the Mahers of the left are now articulating the problem better than most Republicans, this is a great thing! Maybe now WE will wake up?

Doubt it. The word Uniparty is still a foreign concept to most or “our” side. When it comes to making the right choices, most of us go right back to LOTE and the rest of the Republican “conservative” idiocy. Trapped in our mazes within an echo chamber. It’s time for a lot of US to take the red pill.

CommoChief in reply to Pasadena Phil. | May 22, 2022 at 11:35 am

Yeah. It would be nice if we had room for folks who had seen the errors of some of their positions and been even partially redeemed, so to speak. I’m constantly amazed by purists who demand complete conformity with their particular political orthodoxy. No dissent allowed!

We either continue to welcome folks who join us if only on a particular single issue vote and try to help them see the rest of our positions in a positive light or we will lose. We can’t expect to have a majority when we reject folks for daring to hold independent positions. There’s truth to the adage that a conservative is ‘a liberal who got mugged’; do we tell them to go away, they aren’t welcome?

Olinser in reply to CommoChief. | May 22, 2022 at 2:07 pm

He hasn’t seen the error of his positions, or been redeemed. He’s the same leftist hack he’s always been. He’s never vote for a Republican in his life, and won’t.

He’s angry that they’re SO OPEN about their insanity that they’re making the rest of them look bad.

He’s not advocating they do anything different. He’s selling them to stop being SO OBVIOUS and so arrogantly in-your-face about what they’re doing.

He doesn’t want them to stop teaching CRT and grooming kids. He wants them to stop posting on TikTok that they’re doing it.

You obviously haven’t been listening at all to what he has been saying. He’s been getting more and strident about making his points too. He articulates what we are trying to say better than most of us. That means he gets it. Sure he’s a liberal, a term that is being reclaimed by liberals themselves. I’m hearing more and more liberals making sense these days that all of the sneaky NeverTrump LOTE noseholders purportedly fighting for conservatism… whatever that is. No one is ever good enough to be included in that club.

Right now we are winning and so many people are coming over to our side. If you take that as getting swamped and losing control, you aren’t paying attention.

Tim Pool, one of my very favorite go-to shows is an avowed liberal although I think he is really a libertarian trying to rescue what classic liberalism means. His TimCast show is the most reliable place to go to hear informed and intelligent discussions and he gets great guests no one else seems to care about.

I also enjoy Joe Rogan who has only recently been interested in forming his political views. Musk is coming around too but he is really out to lunch with politics. He only knows those who are trying to ruin his big ambitions to go to Mars. He really is a strange but exciting person to watch. He is right up there fighting big battles for us and I doubt he sees it that way.

If it weren’t for Trump, the “big middle” would not be leading the charge today. The Mama Grizzly movement is clearly non-partisan. Do we go after them for not being true conservatives? How stupid would THAT be? They are already leading the charge on an issue we have been fighting for ourselves! And for the right reasons! Self-interest!

America is waking up and I am really praying that pig-headed conservatives don’t blow it for everybody. It isn’t about conservatism. It’s about basic survival over traditional American values. It’s a reawakening of common sense which is better than politics.

This is a good post, Phil, but you have to know that Trump may not be the man to lead this new coalition. Trump is toxic to the newly-red-pilled, previously apolitical people. Musk might vote Republican in Texas, but how’s he going to vote if Trump is on the GOP ticket in 2024? Or Tim Poole (whom I adore)? Or Joe Rogan? I’d bet you dollars to donuts not one of them (and certainly not Elon Musk) would vote for Trump.

The left set out to destroy Trump, and effectively, they did. It’s wrong, it’s unfair, it’s horrible, but it is what it is.

I’ve been asking myself lately, ‘do we fight for America or for Trump?,’ because that’s the real question going into 2024.

As an aside: Here, I find myself wanting to assure you that I would vote for Trump in 2024 if he’s the nominee, and of course I would, but I don’t like the feeling that I have to add that. No matter how true it is. I’m really beginning to resent the ONLY Trump line for that reason. I do not ever want to be made to feel, in my home as LI is our home, that I have to say something. This self-censorship due to known incoming from the bully crowd is not good, and it is going to turn people off. It’s turning me off in a big way, anyway.

If it’s ONLY Trump, what happens when he drops dead, which could happen any day since he’s no spring chicken? America is doomed, over, done, gone? No way do I believe that. And I want to believe that no one else does, either. Crazy optimist that I am (on some days).

CommoChief in reply to Olinser. | May 22, 2022 at 5:31 pm

          Olinser,

I agree with Phil. So what if these guys are slow learners? Seriously the antics from left since the occupy Wall St movement have grown more aggressive and totalitarian every year.

There are plenty of folks who have found themselves on ‘our’ side of the political divide because the d/prog has sprinted leftward so far as to reorient the the political center to the left of a large number of people.

Even if they are only temporary allies we shouldn’t reject them. If we can get half a loaf then take it. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to get the whole loaf or play nice (rino) by refusing to maximize our temporary political advantage.

We actually have a chance not just to slow the decay (rino weaseldom) or halt the decay (Bill Buckley style conservative) but to reverse the decay and breath new life into our founding documents and reinvigorate the spirit and promise of our Nation.

We need these classical liberals and libertarians and anyone else who will sign on in order to achieve lasting change. Don’t reject them because they don’t agree with 100% of your ideas. As the Rolling Stones said ‘you can’t always get what you want’….but you just might find ….you get what you need’.

RandomCrank in reply to Olinser. | May 23, 2022 at 5:48 pm

Too many people have forgotten that effective politics is about addition, not subtraction. I can’t say that I trust Maher either, but trust isn’t required.

Yeah, I don’t get this at all. Things have really gone downhill, and even lefties are realizing that it’s too much. I don’t care if they are still lefties as long as they are willing to put themselves out there to say very unpopular things, at risk to themselves. We need more of them to come forward and speak their minds, not fewer because we slam them for not getting it sooner.

@Fuzzy. You are again engaging in splitting the team. We have two superstars running riot over the competition and too many “conservatives” are determined to drive a wedge between them. We all should be pushing for justice for what the Uniparty did to Trump and nothing would be better than for Trump to come back and reclaim the White House.
To say that Trump may not be the man to lead this coalition is very premature and ignores history. That is one of the main arguments used against him in 2016, “he can’t win” because [pick one]. As Mark Levin often says “Trump was the most effective conservative in my lifetime. I love the man and what he has done..”

Regardless of your personal difficulties in grasping the enormity of what you are saying, the 2024 GOP nomination is Trump’s to lose. If he loses because DeSantis succumbs to the siren’s song of personal ambition and goaded on by Trump haters, he too will lose. If your can’t see that, at least don’t tempt fate by encouraging people to turn on Trump.

Trump and DeSantis are stomping the Uniparty everywhere they go. Why even have those discussions now about which of them will win the nomination? If they both keep rolling, Trump may have accomplished everything to set everything in motion for DeSantis. It is in DeSantis’ best interests for Trump to win big which means giving him the choice as to whether he wants to run.

I can think of nothing better than for Trump to be campaigning for DeSantis in 2024 which means DeSantis has something to prove to Trump and all of us. Is he another Cruz, all ambition and no vision, no game? I think he is smart enough and cares enough to start the job of finishing up for Trump after Trump is done. Twelve years of Trump then DeSantis would be awesome but Trump wiping out the Uniparty THIS YEAR would be even better. We can’t have a riff between Trump and DeSantis. They need each other and we need them both.

I don’t know why that is such a difficult thing for so many “conservatives” to grasp. We just don’t seem to know how to win. Even when we are romping we talk like losers. We are NOT going to win as “conservatives”. Period. But there sure are a lot of patriots across the middle political spectrum joining in the fight these days. We don’t need a “conservative” victory (whatever that is). We need a VICTORY and suddenly people are dropping their politics to fight for personal liberty? Why do we have to mess that up?

I love you, Phil, but calm down. All I said was that Trump may not be the man to lead a coalition that includes the men you mentioned. They are all on the record hating Trump and insisting they would never ever vote for him.

That’s not me trying to mess things up, it’s me trying to point out that very simple and very obvious fact that being anti-FJB is not automatically being pro-Trump.

The newly-red-pilled are just left-leaning, not even centrist by our normal understanding of the term, and they are not going to be floating a boat in the next Trump parade.

We can’t have a coalition built on crazy dreams and fantasies, right? And I’m telling you right now that Bill Maher, Tim Poole, and Elon Musk are not about to board the Trump train. They aren’t on the platform. They aren’t even on the same continent. That’s not ME busting your bubble, that’s reality.

Can you see why these men you admire don’t like or trust Trump? Why they might think he’s not the best choice for the country? Or are you just going to stomp your feet and insist that Trump’s the ONLY answer . . . even if the new coalition you do support won’t support or vote for him? You can’t have it both ways (at least not in the real world).

healthguyfsu in reply to Fuzzy Slippers. | May 23, 2022 at 12:42 am

Just as an aside, I will continue to use the term red pill as you just did and completely ignore that abysmal 4th matrix movie. And I encourage every conservative to continue to do so.

It became plain and clear that the rumors about those two despicable “trendy trans” parasites stealing the original concept of the matrix from a pitch writer have merit.

The evidence unfolded with every passing follow up film and peripheral. They did an awful job with the rest of the trilogy, the games, and now this thing that can’t even be described as worth the the bandwidth that it streams on. If you didn’t know, they are now trying to ret-con that “The matrix as an allegory for being trans”….bah, tell me you flat out stole IP without telling me that you stole IP. Also, their media/PR teams are very aggressive as they’ve been in all kinds of lawsuits and one of them killed someone with their car I believe. I couldn’t find ANY mention of any of these things on the web any more. They’ve all been memory holed.

RandomCrank in reply to Pasadena Phil. | May 23, 2022 at 5:42 pm

I live in WA State, which is turning into California. Neither Trump nor DeSantis stands a chance here, but if the Repub nominee is DeSantis, and he runs a campaign that tries to reach out to independents and disaffected Dems, downticket Repubs might do better here than they have for a while. Trump had plenty to say and still does, but I’d rather see the Repubs move on.

Conservatives need to think it through. Kids, you have a big chance in the next 2-1/2 years. Win big in ’22, and nominate someone (I think DeSantis, but that might change) who has broader appeal than Trump does, and the Republican Party is going to have a long run in Washington. Nominate Trump, and there’s a pretty good chance that the Repubs will blow a golden opportunity.

There are plenty of ways that Trump, who’ll be 78 years old in ’24, can play a very helpful role in conservative fortunes — but not as the Republcan nominee.

In some states, physicians and counselors are banned from trying to determine if the kid might grow out of the “gender dysphoria.” They must give the kid “gender-affirming” care, which often means sterilizing drugs and surgery. Imagine if they applied the principles of “gender-affirming” to anorexia.

In the anorexia-affirming world, if a teen girl comes in and says she’s fat, the physician would be banned from weighing the girl or doing anything else to determine whether she’s actually fat.

Even if she’s 5’2″ and 80 pounds and looks like a skeleton, the physician is expected to put her on a diet and give her drugs to make her lose weight.

Every GD Doc takes an oath to do no harm. I guess they just want to make money..

if we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay in 2054

The Forever War

A different approach. Prosecutors in “red states” might consider prosecuting those who deliberately lead our children into gender doubt they may not have absent the doubts planted in them by charging them with child abuse. It is arguably child abuse to take such advantage of children at an age where they are so vulnerable to suggestion from adults, particularly those in authority like teachers.

For what it’s worth, some observations and opinions from a 64-year-old gay man (same-sex married):

1. LGBT is bullshit beyond the first two letters. The “B” matters only for the LG component, plus a multitude of surveys show that there are even fewer bisexuals than there are gays and lesbians. The “T” is a complete can of worms that would take forever to explain, so I’ll summarize: Nothing in common with the LG other than being heavily stigmatized until very recently.

2. Those recent surveys showing more LG should be taken with not just a grain of salt but the whole shaker. Most of the increase, or at least the recent increase, comes from kids who think it’s trendy to say they’re LGBT or one of those. Watch what they do, not what they say, and those numbers would drop.

3. Most of the leftists on the LGBT train are hitchhikers. Some are Orwellian, wanting to enforce distrust of biology (in the case of “T”) for the purpose of destabilizing society.

4. Gays and lesbians aren’t after the kiddos. Okay, some are, but molesters and kiddie-chasers can be L, G or none of those. This particular point makes me seethe at those who want to instruct K-3 kids in “gender identity” and “sexual orientation.”

5. Why so much media attention? Because the media loves its freak shows, plus they’re lazy. They have their speed dial lists, representative or not.

6. The “mainstream” gay organizations have been captured by the “T,” because they can keep raising money that way. The real villain is an organization that once was on the “hero” side, but no more: “Human Rights Campaign.” I’d toss them $100 every now and then, but haven’t done so for more than a decade.

The whole “debate,” such as it is, to me is phony and disturbing, like so many other “debates” that ignore real people and real lives.

Thanks for this, RandomCrank. I agree the “T” part is the part that is tearing everything apart and destroying our progress (meant in a good way, not in the “progressive” way). The question is: what do we do to shut this crap down? Or at least to stem the tide?

Bill Maher can whine and cry and moan and complain all he wishes. It only makes him look more the HYPOCRITE! He wanted this when he called for President Trump’s ouster via a hoped-for Economic Crash in 2019. Well, he got his wish. Now it’s time for him to simply SHUT UP and go away…
