New Biden Talking Point: “MAGA Crowd” is Most Extreme Political Organization in Recent History

“Let me tell you about this ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are.”

It looks as though the primaries this week put a scare into Joe Biden and Democrats because on Wednesday, when Biden was making remarks on the economy, he tried out some new talking points on the “MAGA crowd.”

Biden repeatedly called Republicans extreme and even coined the phrase “ultra-MAGA,” whatever that is.

It’s very telling that instead of explaining to voters why they should keep his party in power, he instills fear of the other and paints them as extreme.

Quint Forgey reports at Politico:

Biden: MAGA is the ‘most extreme political organization’ in recent U.S. history

President Joe Biden on Wednesday escalated his rhetorical attacks on the Republican Party and rebuked former President Donald Trump’s enduring grip on the GOP.

“This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history, in recent American history,” Biden told reporters at the White House, referring to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement.

In prepared remarks on the economy, Biden also referenced Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) by name, criticizing his “11 Point Plan to Rescue America” — which proposed, in part, raising income taxes on low-income Americans…

Speaking at the White House, Biden described his personal economic philosophy as “in sharp contrast to what today’s Republican Party is offering — and if they hadn’t put this in print, you’d think I was making it up.”

“Senator Rick Scott of Florida … released what he calls the ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s a MAGA agenda all right,” Biden said. “Let me tell you about this ultra-MAGA agenda. It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are.”

You can read Rick Scott’s 11 Point Plan here.

This is like a replay of Hillary Clinton’s famous “basket of deplorables” comment:

Biden also made blatantly false accusations about what Republicans want to do:

Scott hit back at Biden’s comments during an appearance on FOX News:

“Since Joe Biden got into politics, think of what’s happened,” he continued. “Taxes have gone up on Americans constantly… My plan is to reduce taxes, but let’s get everybody back to work.”

Biden, speaking from the White House on Wednesday, ripped Sen. Scott for his plan saying, “It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are. It will actually raise taxes on 75 million American families.”

Sen. Scott denied Biden’s claims, highlighting rising consumer prices as American families grapple with sky-high prices at the grocery store and the gas pump.

“What he just did was a complete lie,” Sen. Scott said. “I want to fix this country. We’ve got to rescue this country, not take it down Joe Biden’s horrible path.”

Here are a few Twitter reactions:

Biden is just flailing. He sees what’s coming in November and he is desperate to stop it.

Screw off, you damn Alzheimer’s President. When are you going to talk about BLM or Antifa?

You’re telling a puppet to screw off. You should be telling it to Obama: he is running our country via Susan Rice and that idiot Jill Biden.

Hitler broadcast his intentions, constantly. No one but his fellow Nazis listened. Biden is broadcasting the coming of martial law, whether his puppeteers intend him to or not.

Wait till there’s food shortages next year!

Ultra MAGA sounds like a brand of low tar cigarettes, As in, “Give me a pack of Ultra MAGA 100s and a couple of scratch offs.”

taurus the judge | May 5, 2022 at 3:18 pm

Well, he is 100% correct.

His remark has to be put in context with the agenda and goals of the left.

Their end goal is global domination in every area with an slant toward Agenda 2030,Vision 2050 end goals in mind where they control everything to bring about their Marxist Utopia under their all knowing benevolent rule.

The only way this is possible is by the elimination of the USA as we know it.

MAGA ( the concept) is in fact the single biggest threat to that goal.

As proof, in 4 years with every force on Earth attacking and opposing Trump and his agenda brought the left ( and China) almost to their knees.

Imagine what MAGA would do in 4 years with a culled RINO herd and a true Conservative majority. Then add a follow on President.

So, there’s no doubt they view MAGA as they do and with good reason.

Personally, I hope they wind up experiencing the fear even more.

MAGA is the most extreme political organization in U.S. history

It’s so bad I’m gonna have that old Indian come and beat his drum in their faces.

The Democrats should be supremely confident but they haven’t been this angry since their slaves were taken away. Trump broke them and they haven’t recovered. The Democrats basically have a glass jaw.

There’s no hope for him now, Travis.
He’s sufferin’. You know we’ve got to do it.

I know, Mama. But he was my dog. I’ll do it.

Biden discussing MAGA at all with inflation increasing will haunt him by making him look out of touch.

I saw a meme a few days ago captioned,
‘It took only 15 months to go from “build back better” to “there will be food shortages.”‘

Once again we see what “Genial” Joe Biden and the other Leftwards really think. And how they hate us. Also note that this is demonizing us above actual hate groups, and above totalitarian paramiltiaries like Antifascist Action and rioters like BLM.

Be prepared and be careful.

In prepared remarks on the economy, Biden also referenced Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) by name, criticizing his “11 Point Plan to Rescue America” — which proposed, in part, raising income taxes on low-income Americans…

“It’s extreme, as most MAGA things are. It will actually raise taxes on 75 million American families.”

OK, I found it. This is actually true. I just read through the plan, and it’s there. It says that everyone will have to pay some income tax, so they have some skin in the game. So, a minimum income tax. I’m not sure how this is supposed to apply to those who have no income at all, but it certainly seems that those who have at least some income will pay some nominal tax on it. That’s more than they currently pay, so it’s an increase.

50% of people pay no income tax at all, and that’s a bad thing. Increasing their taxes from zero to something is a good thing, but it means Biden is not lying.

healthguyfsu in reply to Milhouse. | May 5, 2022 at 5:00 pm

And the fact-checkers will be happy to provide a zero context justification just like yours. They might just copy-paste you and bury the lede.

Your flaw is assuming that the average barely political American reads or pays any attention to nuance.

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | May 5, 2022 at 5:14 pm

A reformed tax code with everyone paying even a little bit is a good thing; then we are all in the same ocean if not the same boat. For those without income; ‘those who will not work will not eat’ is a very old and perfectly good American tradition.

      jb4 in reply to CommoChief. | May 6, 2022 at 11:21 am

Everyone paying something is indeed a good thing – a financial stake in the system. However, I think the Earned Income Tax Credit is much better than straight out welfare, encouraging people to get any job they can and have some earned income. The EITC would likely cancel out any income taxes otherwise payable, so makes me wonder how well Scott’s proposal was thought out. Finally, anyone working for pay is paying taxes even if they owe no income tax. They pay Social Security and Medicare taxes, etc; and everyone pay sales taxes and property taxes, through rent or owning a home.

        CommoChief in reply to jb4. | May 6, 2022 at 11:43 am

How about scrap the whole code and replace with a flat tax including SSI/Medicare and ending all assistance for the able bodied other than brief unemployment that is supported by a 50/50 split worker/employer?

The EITC is hot garbage as a stand alone, it’s only utility is within the current tax/spending regime. It’s an incentive (bribe) to get folks to work who would otherwise qualify for our way too generous welfare state programs; over 80 separate programs at last count.

The current path is not sustainable. A system where more than half the country doesn’t pay income tax will vote for increasing the income tax on the remainder while continuing to exempt themselves.

taurus the judge in reply to Milhouse. | May 5, 2022 at 6:11 pm

you need to read it carefully and understand it.

Then put it in proper context with the rest of the items associated with it.

Dont be a liberal and shout it out as an independent 1 liner.

Go get ‘em, Joe!

Any group or party that steals an election should be labeled as the most extreme in American history!

What?

He did?

Really?

Oh… Never mind.

Victor Immature | May 5, 2022 at 4:48 pm

There had to be collective facepalm from the incumbent dems sround the country upon hearing that drivel. It was like a get out the vote PSA.

Maybe they should read “Shattered”.

HRC repeatedly shot herself in the foot with “deplorable” comments and by following Robbie Mook’s advice to skip battleground states and try to preach to the choir and stage Trump-like campaign events on friendly turf.

The vile dotard masquerading as our “President” during his rare and fleeting moments of semi-lucidity and cognitive function is simply despicable, a self-serving, brazen and unabashedly mendacious prevaricator, liar and demagogue.

Vilifying President Trump and his supporters is clearly the election playbook for these contemptible, hate-fomenting and divisive demagogue-zealots.

Meanwhile, the domestic terrorists/insurrectionists in the Dumb-o-crats’ militant wing, “Anti-fa” and “Black Lives Matter,” who laid waste to the U.S., murdered innocents, attacked police officers, destroyed businesses and neighborhoods and desecrated synagogues for an entire year, manage to escape being subjected to even a scintilla of the spite and vilification that Biden unfairly casts upon tens of millions of conservative Americans.

The Dumb-o-crats are evil narcissists and totalitarians.

Victor Immature in reply to guyjones. | May 5, 2022 at 5:02 pm

If you’re speaking to friends you think are on the fence, avoid too many multisyllabic words and tone down the puns like “dumb-o-crats”. Insulting the audience is the left’s forte. Let them own it.

Replace “evil narcissists” with “malignant narcissists” for the sake of sounding less like a fire-and-brimstone evangelical.

guyjones in reply to Victor Immature. | May 5, 2022 at 5:27 pm

No, respectfully, I reject your opinion, entirely. I’m not trying to win friends, or, to win people over. And, the Dumb-o-crats aren’t presenting an open mind, on any issue. They’re zealots. So, I’ll continue to use the moniker “Dumb-o-crat,” because it aptly describes the abject stupidity of these people.

You sound like you work in public relations. That’s fine; it’s a noble profession. But, I’m not seeking public relations advice with regard to displaying my political opinions. We are at war with people who are totalitarian in their ethos, rhetoric and behavior.

And, a demagogue such as Biden who incites and attempts to gin up his fanatical base, by casting millions of decent Americans who hold conservative beliefs, as alleged domestic terrorists — thus rationalizing and justifying violence, threats and intimidation against them — is fairly characterized as “evil.” It’s not hyperbole to invoke this term, when, as here, it’s a legitimate descriptor. The Dumb-o-crats have done the same thing to Israeli Jews — vilifying them with the most brazenly and blatantly false slanders, as alleged “colonial” “occupiers” who are practicing “racism” and “apartheid” against the allegedly “native” Arab Muslim population — thus whitewashing, rationalizing and giving moral justification for terrorism committed against Israeli Jews. Plainly evil behavior.

Sometimes, as here, you have to call a spade a spade.

guyjones in reply to Victor Immature. | May 5, 2022 at 5:38 pm

“Replace “evil narcissists” with “malignant narcissists” for the sake of sounding less like a fire-and-brimstone evangelical.
      ——————–

Also, the notion that, in your mind, calling someone an “evil narcissist” constitutes the tone of a “fire-and brimstone evangelical” is really quite absurd and asinine.

I don’t engage in the self-aggrandizing exercise of engaging in a hyper-sensitive and obsessive parsing of others’ words, but, it’s quite clear that you enjoy obnoxiously lecturing others on the subject.

In fact, I think that I’ll invoke both words, as is my right — as in, for example, “Dumb-o-crats such as tottering, feeble, dim-witted, corrupt, self-enriching and mendacious, dotard, Biden, are evil, malignant narcissists.”

      Cheers.

CommoChief | May 5, 2022 at 5:22 pm

I’m not sure that further stoking up the populist right six months out from the midterms is sound political strategy.

Did Biden WH really just try and circle back to MAGA = insurrection = domestic terrorists after blaming Covid failed and Putin’s price hike failed? Deliberately PO the 75 million people who voted DJT and the millions of d and independents walking away from Biden’s failed policies to shore up support from the audience of the View strikes me as horribly bad electoral mathematics.

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | May 5, 2022 at 5:39 pm

When you select a mental patient as your standard bearer, some setbacks should be expected. Obviously, little attention was paid to this obvious consequence.

randian in reply to CommoChief. | May 5, 2022 at 6:33 pm

Why would you care about pissing off 75 million Trump voters when you can fortify elections?

CommoChief in reply to randian. | May 6, 2022 at 12:56 am

      1. That was largely a one trick pony for 2020. Many red States have taken steps to prevent some or all aspects of the shenanigans used.
      2. The shenanigans will continue in blue States but blue enclaves in red States may find themselves under much more scrutiny than they are accustomed.
      3. The populist right has a much better handle on how the shenanigans were perpetrated.
      4. The right has a more vigorous law fare org in place to combat shenanigans

I hear you and we must not be complacent but we shouldn’t be defeatist either. Less than 200K votes in 2020 and r control the HoR, Sen and the WH. This will be a pocketbook election with inflation front and center IMO. In any event forfeiting all future election contests because we think the other side will play dirty just hands them a victory.

Ghost Rider | May 5, 2022 at 5:54 pm

It is hard to think of any organizations in the history of our country more extreme than BLM, Antifa and today’s Dimocratic Party.

Ultra-MAGA sounds pretty awesome.

As is the case with the trolls who occasionally pollute these pages, trying to respond to someone so divorced from reality is really a waste of effort.

Sternverbs | May 6, 2022 at 8:54 am

This country now has problems that can only be solved with the common sense and the will to use 13 knots and 13 steps to their maximum efficiency.

“Pocketbook” may include more than just inflation, but also collapsed retirement accounts, at the rate the stock market is declining. Stock indexes, which are down roughly 20%, do not tell the whole story. For example, the stock of a well-known company like Zoom is down 82% from its high.
