‘Egregiously Incompetent’: San Francisco Residents Recall Three School Board Members

“We faced the hardest time of our entire lives as parents and as students in public schools and this Board of Education focused on issues that weren’t about dealing with the immediate crisis of the day…”

San Francisco recalled three progressive school board members by a huge margin: Commissioner Alison Collins, President Gabriela Lópex, and Vice President Faauuga Moliga.

Not. Even. Close.

Leftist Mayor London Breed even criticized the three members:

The voters of this City have delivered a clear message that the School Board must focus on the essentials of delivering a well-run school system above all else. San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well. I want to recognize all the parents who tirelessly organized and advocated in the last year. Elections can be difficult, but these parents were fighting for what matters most – their children. The days ahead for our public schools will not be easy.

Eh, Breed you should maybe stay quiet on this. She did not help to reopen schools and make the kids wear a mask all the time. She also got caught a few times without a mask despite the city having a mask mandate she put in place.

Supervisor Scott Weiner, who supported the recall, stated: “Today San Franciscans made a clear statement: We need a Board of Education focused like a laser on stabilizing our schools, keeping them open, and supporting students and families in the most effective possible way.”

Breed will have to make appointments 10 days after the Board of Supervisors accepts the election results.

The parents grew frustrated with the school board concentrating on matters other than reopening schools like renaming 44 schools. It also ended the merit-based admission system at one high school:

“We faced the hardest time of our entire lives as parents and as students in public schools and this Board of Education focused on issues that weren’t about dealing with the immediate crisis of the day, and they didn’t show the leadership that that was necessary and that parents needed to hear, and that kids needed to hear,” said [Supervisor Hillary] Ronen.

At least a hundred recall backers had gathered in the back room of Manny’s Cafe in the Mission District on Tuesday night.

“This is what happens when you try to rename the schools in the middle of a pandemic!” exclaimed David Thompson a.k.a “Gaybraham” Lincoln, an SFUSD parent dressed in head-to-toe rainbow drag and towering platform shoes, who described his persona as a form of protest. “We wanted to show the diversity of the community behind this recall. I knew they were going to say, ‘Oh isn’t it just a bunch of Republicans?’ and I’m like, do I look like a Republican?”

I want to meet Gaybraham Lincoln!!

Siva Raj said: “The city of San Francisco has risen up and said this is not acceptable to put our kids last. Talk is not going to educate our children, it’s action. It’s not about symbolic action, it’s not about changing the name on a school, it is about helping kids inside the school building read and learn math.”

Derrick Ly said: “Every vote counts and I, myself, am a San Francisco native. I’ve seen this city change so much, so I definitely want my voice to be heard.”

Paulina Fayer: “They are so egregiously incompetent. We need to get them out now, and we have. The voters have spoken.”

“They were only voted out because the extreme right-wing, white-supremacist majority of San Francisco could not tolerate people of color, people of Hispanic, and people of clitoris being in charge!”

– channeling the average woke activist soy-person

The flaming pinko mayor will appoint three flaming pinko replacements, and they’ll go back to doing stupid flaming pinko bullshit.

Perhaps. But consider the magnitude of the vote in Deep Blue SF….and what that portends for the rest of the country this November.

And perhaps the replacements will be pink…but the might be mindful enough of what happened to be more mauve in their choices.

I read somewhere that the next election for the board is in 6 months

They will be eligible for re-election in Nov.

Given that the attention span of voters is generally less that that of goldfish someone is going to need to stay on task keeping this in the public eye. Couldn’t happen? They got elected in the first place didn’t they?

In California, school districts are separate from cities. They usually have separate boundaries. The Los Angeles Unified School District has many students who do not live in the city of Los Angeles. Some cities (Huntington Beach) have more than one school district. A few (Santa Maria Joint Union High School District and a couple of others) have students from more than one county.
State law will govern how replacement members of the Board of Education will be selected. It is often done by the remaining members. In my experience, when there is one vacancy, the person who got the most votes and was not elected is often chosen. With 3 vacancies, who knows.

Yes, there is a lesson in there somewhere.

At least the mayor said something that sounds almost sensible.

It’s remarkable that a leftist acknowledged the need for competent governance. Okay, he also referred to insane leftist ideological BS as “big ideas.” But this is the first time in years that I’ve noticed someone on the left noting that ideology isn’t everything.

It must have hurt to have to go there.

Every child left behind under diversity, inequity, and exclusion (DIE).

To achieve the best outcome we could start with a prayer to San Andreas?

If Liberalfonia can do it so can you.

And SF at that. As wacky and feckless as these three are getting above 70% in favor of recall is big. Off cycle balloting is usually very low turnout and thus dominated by best organization. Usually that’s public sector union members so defying that to this extent is amazing. IMO

So people in California — never mind San Francisco — actually voted to recall three woke assholes?

I eagerly await the “rdj” tweet that will explain this for me.

When you are too far leftist for 75% of San Francisco . . .

I’m sure this will solve the problems with the government school system!

Buyer’s remorse in woke-town USA.

They got exactly what they voted for and then act angry when they see how it played out.

Faauuga? Faauuga Leghorn.

The reason there weren’t more school board members recalled it’s because the other ones hadn’t served long enough to be recalled.

In the San Francisco Bay Area the choice is between the Nancy Pelosi Democrat and Lenin. Anybody want to hear about my car? I don’t know how I haven’t been locked up. It’s smog legal. But is it noise legal?

I realize this may not be immediately relevant. I’m up this early because it’s Snow Goose season in Texas., I wake up every day imagining my legs will work.

I voted with my legs back when they worked.

Permanently 70% disabled. I was 100% disabled according to the government until August. I honestly don’t know what changed between then and now. And I also don’t know why my left shoulder was dissaload but my right shoulder was. Or vice versa. I get them confused as they’re both equally messed up. Don’t get me started on my hips. Or ankles. If anyone is interested I’ll show you the paperwork. I’m fine with it as collecting less than 100% disability means I get my full retirement pay.

There. That was more than anybody needed to know.. Thing is, if anyone should be happy in Gavin Newsom’s worker’s paradise it should be me. I’d rather starve.

If you live long enough. And you play rugby into your 40s. Don’t feel sorry for yourself.

If you’re stupid enough to live in San Francisco, don’t feel sorry for yourself. You voted for this.

I don’t know if I should be grateful for living in Japan or not. If I had lived in Australia I would be dead by now.

Seriously. After I left Kali I visited my syster. She was struggling with the decision who to vote for as governor. Jerry Brown was maybe too conservative.

Jerry freaking Brown. The beginning of the end, and the end of the end.

This recall should not be misinterpreted. SF is still hopelessly woke. The SF voters will now just elect a different set of wokists. Meet the new boss; same as the old boss …

The only upside is the amusement derived from seeing the woke attack the woker.
