The American spirit has been overwhelmed by the European model of social democracy at home and appeasement and treachery abroad.
But all the dependency champions who celebrated on Tuesday night cannot stop the coming storm. The greatest advantage Obama had going into the election was not demography but the fact that the full consequences of his statist economic policies and his pro-jihadist foreign policy have not yet been felt.
Nationalized healthcare will only be fully implemented in 2014. Americans will only begin watching old men and women die because the federal government denied them lifesaving, but expensive treatments a year from now. They will only lose their doctors due to dwindling Medicare reimbursements in a year.
College students who got out the vote for Obama will only find themselves doomed to low-paying jobs and a life of indebtedness as they fail year in and year out to pay off their college loans, in a year or two. And by the time they realize what it means to be saddled with a national debt of $16 trillion, they will be locked into a government-controlled economy that requires them to keep their silence or lose their livelihoods.
Then there are the consequences of Obama’s foreign policies….
It will be harder for Obama to hide the dangers of his foreign policy when the Taliban return to power in Afghanistan and Al Qaida rebuilds its training camps. It will be harder for Obama to blame his failure on hapless American filmmakers when Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is controlled by a Taliban-aligned government that seeks a nuclear war with India. It will be harder for Obama to protect America with a gutted, demoralized military, demobilized under his command….
As most people know, Israel, as the forward base of freedom in the Muslim world, is the first target of the Obama-supported, ascendant forces of jihad. As a consequence, Israel will be the first to feel the repercussions of Obama’s policies of appeasement and empowerment of Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood….
No one said any of this will be easy. But difficult is not the same as impossible. Within a year, the consequences of Obama’s failed domestic and foreign policies will make him weaker rather than stronger than he was in his first term. He will be hard pressed to pressure Israel when the US loses its leadership role in the Muslim Brotherhood-dominated Middle East. And Israel’s independence of action will consequently grow.
Our side suffered a massive loss on Tuesday.
But as long as we keep our minds and hearts focused on the fundamental goodness and truth that guide our path, we will not be defeated. We will endure, persevere and in due course, we will be vindicated.
It’s a hard rain that’s going to come.

Are we vindicated before or after obscene spending and debt collapse the economy? The numbers don’t lie – it’s either default or devaluation.

As I said the other day…a slim majority has chosen catastrophic failure over rational reform.
It could…and I fear WILL…get very ugly. ObamaCare changes the paradigm of “next election”.
We had a chance to stop it, and many Americans sat on their butts and did nothing.
To where, indeed, that is the only question that matters. And we already know the answer, as history is our guide: it’s uglier than can be imagined, as the left controls the propaganda machine.
But people are too quick to hang all hopes on one candidate. The fact is that Romney satisfied nobody’s desire in the way of a conservative candidate but the left’s, and the odds that he – having expressed himself quite clearly by his actions and allegiances – would have put the brakes on out of control spending, were nil. Ryan as VP was a bone to the fiscal conservatives, but the VP has little power to influence or anything else, and can always be dispatched to the nether regions of the world on missions of goodwill, for the duration of a presidency.
Obamacare with all its constitutional issues and costs is not the end of the empire. It’s no less intrusive on rights than the patriot act, a horrible law that makes “trading liberty for safety” another checkmark on the marxist wishlist.
The real money problem is the $100T PLUS in unfunded liabilities to the retiring generations. That dwarfs all other monies, period, including the wars, many times over. In other words, previous marxists had this all sewn up 99 years ago, or more.
That’s why it’s either default or devalue. Followed by worldwide pain and suffering.

Did you ever consider that obamacare is just another payoff? Who wanted it? Not the public, aggregately. Insurance companies wanted it. The same ones who donated millions of dollars to Romney, to ensure it stays in force. Romney was never going to die on that hill. The pledge cost him nothing, because it was doomed to failure by any number of outside forces.

We, my family, are looking into a medical sharing plan right now and will consider going with it asap. We know that my wife’s medical coverage will be dropped by the end of next year because it will be just too expensive for the company.
This option allows us to sidestep all penalties and will take us out of the system.
Next, think about taking legal actions of all sorts. Fight having your records in D.C. looked at as a violation of your privacy under Roe V Wade ( yes, ironic, isn’t it ).
Hammer the administration with FOIC requests about what, who, why, and when your medical records were looked at. Keep them on the defensive at all times. Do this every six months.
Go after AARP. Call them greedy and talk about all the money they are making off of Obamacare.
Help governors who resist Obamacare by sending in money right now to their campaigns. Form PACS to defend them and those in the state houses.
You know, everyone is complaining that we got our clock cleaned. I must disagree. We are up against an enemy who has been at it for up to their evil for over 50 years.
To do as well as we have in as short a time as we have means there is hope.
Our enemies have given us a noose to hang up their agenda. Let’s use that rope to tie them up so badly it will teach them a lesson.

Let’s apply the Cloward-Piven strategy to the Obama administration: take the Federal giveaways and place demands on the system. The sooner its failure can be exposed, the better.
What counsels me against that is my love of people…even pretty stupid people.
A Cloward-Piven collapse would hurt or even kill many thousands of people. Some of those would be totally innocent of even being foolish, and could include my children and grandchildren.
And I am not assured that the remainder would choose better than they just did on election day.
The problem will still be the control of most news and entertainment by hardcore lefties who are now emboldened by what they pulled off in getting Obama re-elected. Severe economic hardship will likely do nothing to break the spell of Obamaism—if anything, it may just reinforce it. Think Mass Stockholm Syndrome.
For instance, the Great Depression clearly did little to knock FDR out of power—he got elected 4 times, despite continuously failing New Deal policies which did little to alleviate the hardship. What makes people so sure that Obama and his successors won’t receive the same electoral support…?
The 1937-38 recession pretty much killed the New Deal. In the 1939 election the Republicans picked up 81 seats in the House. They didn’t do as well in the Senate with only a 6 seat pick up put please remember that 1936 had been so bad for Republicans they had been down to 17(!) US Senators.
This election was not an endorsement of Obama’s policies. It was won by the urban machines turning out the underclass, not always by legal means, and by poisoning the well of working class whites.
Many of the trendy urban white vote is about to get a hard reality check. They are heavily employed by industries such as hospitality and IT temp agencies that will be cutting people back to 30 hours a week. That is a brutal number. Losing 10 hours strips most people of disposable income but it is really hard to work two 30 hour a week jobs week in-week out even if the terms of your contract allow it.

The Great Financial Meltdown and sunsequent recession have been cemented in the public mind as a Bush failure and responsibility. Never mind the truth that Fed Policy probably did more harm than Bush, ther public has been convinced.

Government is the good guy. Corporations are to blame for the extended recession.

Republicans express concerns that during a recession, its a bad idea to raise taxes on anyone.
Obama takes the position that raising taxes will help with the deficit and provide funding for government “investment” in all sorts of important things like the holy education spending.

At most, raising taxes on the wealthy would generate about $70 billion per year in additional government revenue, according to an Ernst & Young report prepared for several lobbying groups opposed to tax hikes. The deficit this year is likely to be about $900 billion, and the total national debt is more than $16 trillion. So higher taxes on the wealthy would only cut the deficit by about 8 percent. And over 10 years, they’d only reduce the total national debt by about 7 percent. (That $70 billion per year would increase gradually over a decade, due to inflation and economic growth.)

I suspect Americans will simply adapt and get used to their soft new cages with little protest. They’ll have no frame of personal experience to compare what life in America used to be like.
Every Western nation on the planet is now succumbing, or has succumb to Welfare-Statism; I’m not convinced this one will be any different. Some might say Americans are different because of the values & ideals of this country… but really none of this is terribly new in American sociopolitical history, and if the ideology of a free people was really going to hold the line against the creeping ennui of socialism, then its advance would’ve already been rallied against and successfully rebuked nearly a century ago. This obviously didn’t happen.
So, here we are. A nation addicted to abusing the democratic process in order to cannibalize one another in the name of “social justice”, procure other people’s stuff and terminally squabble over who gets the loot.

The day after the election my alma mater called asking for money. It is a Catholic university at least in name. I am afraid I was a bit short to the 19 year old girl. I told her that not only was I broke because of Obama, but that until she could prove the faculty and student body voted for the pro-life, pro-free exercise of religion candidates all my charitable giving would be confined to my own parish where I know most members vote their pro life values. I told her she needed to learn right now that elections have real world consequences and to pass that message to her supervisor.

In response to this article by Caroline Glick, I agree with all the impactful results she mentions from Obama’s policies – everything and more. The Great Depression is going to look like the ‘after church Sunday buffet’ in my opinion. The problem is that I do NOT see it making any difference in Obama’s perspectives, attitudes nor plans. Even worse though, I believe that this country has been cowed into submission by the entitlement meme.
It’s my opinion that Obama knew beforehand the results of his economic policy – and went ahead with their implementation anyway. Does Obama care is the real issue – and I do not think he does. I have no indication that Obama cares about anything other than himself and the power he might accumulate. People living here in America think that we’re the only ‘power game’ in town, forgetting about the UN or the upcoming Islamic Caliphate. Threatening home schoolers may be more politically suicidal than threatening gun owners. Home schoolers are found in every congressional district, they cross party lines, they have their own well organized network and they are extremely dedicated. Back in the early 90s before most people were on the Internet someone in the House put a rider on a bill that would have required states to establish credential requirements for parents who home schooled if the states were to continue to receive federal education money. Within a day every office on Capital Hill was flooded with irate phone calls and faxes to the point where the system could hardly handle the volume. I heard that staffers weren’t even waiting to find out what the call was about. They’d pick up, blurt out “We are against HR-xxx!” and hang up to take the next call.
How bad was it? The sponsor didn’t even vote for his own amendment. I haven’t heard of another serious attempt since then.
I know some 30-somethings who are stuck on leftism (but both quite nice, and responsible, and even entrepreneurial–go figure) who home-school, although they could probably afford some of the better private schools in the area. I would like to see their reaction to an attack on home-schooling. But then, I thought they might turn more conservative a decade ago when they were shocked at how much of their income was taken by the government.
It’s hard to get through to people who are very smart but have spent their entire lives in heavily leftist parts of the country, although they did seem genuinely interested in my take on what the Tea Party movement was really all about. And they seemed slightly receptive to my observation that “the debt now exceeds the GDP, and your children will pay for it.”
So what? This is what I said in 2008. Just give Obama and the Left a few years and watch how they destroy and demoralize the economy, triple trhe debt, use the federal government to bully and bribe corporations, scheme to and circumvent the Constitution and the legislature, mismanage foreign policy, target and isolate Israel, coddle tyrants, and viciously slander all political dissent. They did all this, and worse — they shoved Obamacare down our throats. So wait, I said, wait for 2012.

1. Republicans lost last Tuesday, not because the electorate was rejecting Republicanism, but because a big part of the Republican base stayed home.
2. Despite all the talk about how the Democrats are the party of an amalgamation of numerous splinter groups, the plain fact is so are the Republicans: country clubbers and “moderate” Republicans, the religous right, non-religous social conservatives, and tea partiers, to name four (without even getting to single-issue conservatives such as pro-lifers and gun rights advocates). Here’s the problem: tea partiers, social conservatives, and religous conservatives stay home on election day if a perceived moderate or country clubber is the nominee, which is what happened to a large extent last Tuesday. But the reverse is also true. Country clubbers/moderates will stay home on election day if the nominee is perceived to be someone they see as a kooky hard-right conservative (i.e., a tea partier). Until this two-way rift is resolved the Republicans will have a difficult time getting the entire base mobilized and out to vote on election day.
3. The choice IS NOT between European-style democratic socialism and supposed capitalism. We are already a European-style democratic socialist country. Don’t think so? Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, food stamps, SSI, welfare, unemployment compensation, etc. Hello? What’s all that? European-style socialism, we are already there. And it ain’t going away either. Any Republican nominee who runs on the platform of eliminating Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, food stamps, SSI, welfare, and unemployment compensation would go down in copious flames.
4. IMHO what Republicans need to do, instead of hammering on how bad those programs are, is to stress the importance of a vibrant and productive private sector to promote overall prosperity and to fund these programs.
5. Another thing: Chris Christie. He’s the Republican governor of a vey blue state. He did what he had to do to ensure his reelection in 2014. I’m not excusing what he did. Just explaining it.

From what I have read this appears to have been a significant factor.
What does it say however about Republicans who would sit out an election of this importance? If you can’t count on your base to “get it” then how can you ever make a winning case when you know the Democrats will cheat as well as turn theirs out?
I was stunned to learn (the next day) that our base did not turn out to vote. McCain got more votes than Romney! I guess the message was too unclear? BO was easily beatable, and our base didn’t bother to vote. I find that VERY depressing.
Let’s face it, McCain didn’t get those votes, Palin did.

As an example, when the Republicans run a pro-choice candidate, as Romney was at a previous point in his political career, the pro-life voter has no where to go. At best some conservative voters will hold their nose and unenthusiastically vote for the pro-choice Republican. But many others will just sit the election out. Many Republicans felt that way about Romney. I remember last Spring and Winter when this blog was wall-to-wall Let’s Destroy Romney, and commenters right here commented that very thing: if Romney is the candidate, they’d vote for a 3rd party or stay home. Well, that’s what happened on November 6. Enough conservatives who “would never vote for Romney” stayed home, letting Obama get reelected.

Christie is no Republican. He’s a liberal just like his buddy O. I can understand him being cordial to O; I can’t understand him fawning over O.
If they try to end homeschooling they will have to pry my son out of my arms at gunpoint. I don’t have a gun but the thought of that would be enough to cause me to get one and to get training in its use. The district I live in is a good one. I think it is not because of the teachers necessarily but the parents are highly motived to have their kids excel and so the test scores go up. I don’t think they teach kids to think. They teach they to take tests. I’m also tired of the having all the political correctness. I want to teach my son European and American history, not the history of China and India. Not that I think it’s not valuable and interesting to learn about those countries but I want him educated in his own background and history first.

I was feeling better. After a little searching and justifying I thought, the House is Republican and the Senate can filibuster. It will be painful, but we can probably make it through this.
Then I remembered Obama’s likely to have Supreme Court Nominations.
I can honestly say I don’t see a path through this that our country survives.
I’d like to send Juice Plus to all the Supreme Court Justices. Anyone have any healthy lifestyle suggestions for them? Pray. 4 years of praying. Everybody together now.

The negative consequences opponents of the New Deal and the Great Society talked about were incremental changes that took years if not decades to unfold. In the short term it seemed the needy were being helped at an acceptable cost in tax increases. By contrast, the negative consequences of Obamacare will come to pass in a short period of time. They will limit the medical choices for people who are used to having 200 varieties of imported cheeses and 150 types of crackers to go with their 300 bottle wine cave. Even if these people can afford to pay out of pocket what Obamacare doesn’t cover the number of specialists will drop precipitously and waits for appointments will lengthen. This will come as a shock. What will happen in medical care over the next few years will be like telling residents of Marin or the Village of Southhampton a HUD highrise will be built in their midst and they can’t do a thing about it.

Study of uprisings has shown that people who expect things to get worse (and they do), don’t riot. The people who riot are people who were told it would get better, and it got worse. This means the Republicans won’t riot (they’re expecting bad), it’ll be the people who voted for Obama because they were promised free health care, high-paying jobs, free college education, etc. And in 2016, after 8 years, they’ll rather disappointed.
My daughter’s a HS senior, and has friends who are in college – she says everyone she knows was seriously bummed that Obama got re-elected, because the kids in college are saying “there’s no jobs now, and we don’t see jobs in the future”. I was at a “Parent night” when the election was held, and all the kids were visibly upset – one girl even went outside for a half-hour (she said she cried) before she came back. She’s even saying maybe there’s no point in her going to college – no point in paying money for a degree, if there’s no job anyways. And she’s straight-A student who took overload AP classes last year…
Excellent observation about who is more likely to riot.

Our party must now and finally understand that, like Chavez, Obama cannot be defeated at the ballot box.
