L.A. DA Gascón Allows Adult Child Molester to be Housed in Juvenile Detention
James Tubbs, who committed the crime in 2014 when he was 17, only identified as a woman after they took him into custody so he’ll be housed with the females but supposedly in isolation. He also won’t have to register as a sex offender.
Superior Court Judge Mario Barrera unleashed his anger at progressive Lose Angeles District Attorney George Gascón for not prosecuting a child molester as an adult.
James Tubbs admitted he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in a restroom at a Denny’s in 2014. He was two weeks away from turning 18.
Authorities did not arrest and charge Tubbs for the crime until January 2021. He kept busy, though:
In the interim, she had been arrested for battery, drug possession and probation violations in Idaho and Washington and convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in Kern County, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials. She was also arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor but wasn’t prosecuted for the alleged offense, according to court records.
James now goes by “Hannah.” But prosecutors claim he did not identify as a transgender until they took him into custody.
Tubbs knows how to play the system. Gascón has refused to prosecute children as adults.
Even though Tubbs is now 26 Gascón refused to transfer the crime to adult court:
Gascón previously told The Times that the victim, who has moved away from California and remains in therapy, did not want to testify at a trial. He also expressed concern that as a transgender woman, Tubbs could be victimized in a jail for adults. In a youth facility, he said, she could receive treatment and therapy.
Tubbs will go to the female side of the detention facility, but will remain “in isolation, separated by sight and sound from the other juveniles.”
Eyewitness News asked Gascón for a comment. His office pointed out that other courts tried Tubbs as an adult, which is how they got his DNA: “However, in subsequent cases, Tubbs legally was an adult. Other jurisdictions had no other choice. Where I do agree with your assertion is that Tubbs likely will not face punishment proportionate to the victim’s trauma.”
Therefore, Gascón tied Barrera’s hands. The law only allowed him to sentence Tubbs to two years in a juvenile detention center: “I want to be clear. The filing of a transfer motion is entirely within the discretion of the district attorney.”
Also, Tubbs won’t have to register as a sex offender.
L.A. Deputy District Attorney Hatami is ticked off:
“Tubbs is 26 years old. Unlike George Gascon’s false narrative, she is not a ‘kid,'” L.A. Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami, assigned to the Complex Child Abuse Unit, told Fox News Digital.
“There was evidence presented at the juvenile proceedings which showed that Tubbs sexually assaulted two young girls in different incidents in the past. The child victims will suffer lifelong trauma. Tubbs also has prior violent convictions and conduct as an adult.”

“Because of George Gascon’s blanket policy against transferring any juvenile to adult court, even if the 17-year-old rapes or murders an innocent child, James Tubbs will not have to register as a sex offender, will not spend any time in county jail or state prison, will be 26 and housed with juveniles for a very short period of time, and will be released with no probation or parole monitoring. The victims will get no justice. The public will get no safety,” Hatami said.
He added that Gascon “has sacrificed the safety of the public, the rights of the victim and justice in order to follow his own political ideology.”
“It’s an injustice against all of us, especially the young victims,” Hatami said.
Deputy District Attorney Shea Sanna wanted Tubbs in the county jail so he wouldn’t “be around impressionable children.”
Sanna described Tubbs as “every parent’s worst nightmare.”
The victim wrote in a letter:
“I live in fear most of the time. And although it’s something that I tried to tell myself isn’t my fault, I could never truly believe it. I feel that I’m to blame somehow, when I know deep down that isn’t the case.
“I hope, after all this comes to an end, my attacker gets the punishment he deserves for attacking a child with no problem and I can finally get on with my life.”

They will. But someone might not wait until Judgment Day to have that happen. And I won’t weep a single tear.
I’m amazed they haven’t already. We are either a far more patient people than I thought, or spineless.
I suspect that the reason people hesitate is that once things start, the collapse of the current corrupt system begins and the resulting open warfare and what will follow is not a trivial matter. It is when people give up hope . . . for the enforcement of the law, for the validity of the electoral system, for there being a common civic culture that their G.A.S meter hits zero.

I suspect when the rot creeps farther out from the corrupt cities the tipping point will be reached. I also suspect that even before vigilante action in the cities something more along the lines of mafia justice will be dispensed, if it isn’t already. I am reminded of the Latin Kings guarding their turf during the BLM riots and not allowing any blacks into their neighborhoods. Who is to say this isn’t happening already in some areas?

Gary Plauché, The Louisiana Dad Who Took Deadly Revenge On His Son’s Rapist On Live Television
Doucet and Jody Plauché checked into a cheap motel in Anaheim, California, just a short walk away from Disneyland. Inside the motel room, Doucet sexually assaulted his karate student. This went on until Jody asked to call his parents, which Doucet allowed. Police, alerted by Jody’s parents, traced the call and arrested Doucet while Jody was put on a flight back to Louisiana.
Though his son had been found, Plauché remained on edge. He spent the next few days inside a local bar, The Cotton Club, asking people when they thought Doucet might be brought back to Baton Rouge for trial. A former colleague from WBRZ News, who happened to be out for a drink, told Plauché that the disgraced karate instructor would be flown in at 9:08.
Plauché drove to Baton Rouge Airport. He entered the arrivals hall wearing a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses. His face hidden, he walked over to a payphone. As he made a quick call, a WBRZ news crew got their cameras ready to record the caravan of cops that were escorting Jeff Doucet out of his plane. When they passed by, Plauché pulled a gun from his boot and shot Doucet in the head.
The bullet that Plauché shot through Doucet’s skull was caught on camera by the WBRZ crew. On YouTube, over 20 million people have watched how Doucet collapsed and how Barnett quickly tackled Plauché to the wall. “Why, Gary, why’d you do it?” the officer shouted at his friend as he disarmed him.
“If somebody did it to your kid, you’d do it, too!” Plauché answered, in tears.

Serious Question: Can the future juvenile victims of this creep sue the state when they’re raped….or murdered….because they have to share a cell or shower with him?
He’ll be housed in isolation there, so it probably won’t happen.
However, the real crime is the brevity of the sentence, how quickly he is released, and that he won’t be registered.

It’s remarkable, I have had this life long misconception that it was the job of “prosecutors” to actually prosecute alleged criminals and “defense” attorneys to defend them… when did this flip?
I would hope that Gascon would also be lenient on the victim if she were to shoot this guy when he gets out in an effort to get some closure and feel safe. It’s no less than HE, yes HE, deserves.
California does not have the death penalty. But Gascon would be pushing for it in her case. As would the Democrat Party.

I’m told there’s a lot of males being dumped in women’s prison here in Wa. It’s an absolute rape fest and they’re just letting it go on.
If you saw the stat yesterday about the number of first time gun buyers being women, it’s not wrong by much. My wife took a new owner class last night and there was two other women in the same mindset about the rise in violence. It’s a little bit concerning because so many gun owners don’t get trained up or adopt stupid habits (like women who carry in their purses).
I hope the gun industry takes note that a lot of these gals cannot rack the slide. (yes- tons of men will say they just need to practice and do it like so, sort of like telling a quad to get just start walking because they have legs). Not one of the gals in the class last night was able to rack the slide except with extreme difficulty. Weak grip and jams will also plague them. Aside from a few models like the EZ, this is a big barrier to competence. I’m actually going to have my wife go with a .22 and train like crazy on shot placement. Shit is getting bad enough that she’s ready to EDC.
I got my wife an EZ shield 2.0 from S&W because of the slide rack issue. It’s not the most amazing gun and always seems to aim low when I use it, but it can get the job done and def has a lighter slide…if she aims center mass she might get lucky and hit the jewels.
I think it might be canted a little low on purpose since it is meant for women and being light probably has more kick than they would expect unless they shoot it regularly.
Anyways, if you don’t like that, there is always a small revolver option.
I will say she’s actually more accurate with it than I am because I am almost always low….it does seem to be designed for women or those with handicaps of some kind related to use of the hands/arms/etc.
One more thing: it was much harder to find but I held out for the one that is chambered in 9mm instead of .380
Also, the other thing that can cause you to aim low is the grip safety, which has its own issues and might be a deal breaker for some people.
It’s one of those things where if you don’t have a really firm and mindful grip (mindful of disengaging the grip safety) you might not fire and in a tense situation that might be more harm than good.
She tried the EZ in the 9mm and it was functional. Groups were decent. I am curious about the 380, but for EDC I don’t like the trigger safety in the grip- it’s begging to be a point of failure in a critical moment. It’s a “maybe.” Revolver is a no-go due to capacity (there’s a 38 snubby in the safe already). The Ruger 22 and some others look like good starting points for her. I’ve got a daughter who will be of shooting age in a few years, so I want one to get her started on as well.
My wife has a Walther CCP 9mm. It’s gas operated so the slide spring is not as stiff and she can rack it with no problems. Very nice pistol.
For my wife it hasn’t just been the strength required to rack the slide, but also to drop the slide stop. They have been making those near impossible to work out of the box, without also moving the slide back. (And, if your thumb isn’t long enough, it means definitely taking the weapon off the target when reloading.)
Will add that the EZ slide is NOT good for this problem. The stop is hard as heck to set manually and it is VERY tight out of the box and only gets slightly better with the modest oil/grease you are supposed to apply.
I’m starting to talk myself out of the gun I already purchased…that’s never good.
T’ain’t just the ladies with slide racking issue. I’m arthritic, but the firearms I own are easy. I have a S&W 9mm that I can handle, and a 22mag that is a snap.
And, to the size queens out there, yes: you CAN kill someone with a .22 .

I would recommend a heavy caliber revolver for you. Double action so your arthritis doesn’t have to pull the hammer back and the gun being heavy enough to limit the recoil.
Plus, they are fun as hell to shoot….you can’t be grizzled and not own a revolver! Think about how awesome you will feel shooting that baby at the range!

agree the double action revolver–grew-up and have grown old with a 1911 and is now like an extension of my mind–too big a gun/cartridge for my lady to handle confidently–though she is physically capable and a good pistol shot her hands are just not large enough to control the weapon(especially off-hand)–got her a browning 9mm that she shoots/handles well and she seems confident with it–but her go-to weapon at home is a 12ga winchester defender–tremendous knockdown power in a short, compact weapon–regards revolvers, the finest/smoothest have ever fired/owned/seen is a colt python in .357magnum–if can find another one in decent shape
Yes, you can kill someone with a .22. I have seen it with .22LR a number of times. I prefer a .22 WMR out of a 6″+ barrel. More ft/lbs energy on target. If you have a .22WMR, I recommend jacketed hollow points to transfer all the kinetic energy possible into the target in as anatomically untidy way as possible.

.22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. It looks like an enlarged .22LR, with more than double the energy. The case is longer and the diameter is increased enough for the case mouth to fit around a .22 bullet. (In the .22LR, the base of the bullet is reduced in diameter to fit into the mouth of a .case the same diameter as the widest part of the bullet.) I think this and some .17 rounds are the smallest rounds to have the velocity and energy for reliable bullet expansion.
This is probably just another name for your “.22 magnum”. Winchester invented the cartridge, but Marlin seems to have made the first gun to fit it and now there are plenty of manufacturers.

I’ve heard the mossad likes it too. It not only does the job done for them, but it does it very quietly. If you commit to getting good on shot placement under pressure- Bob’s your uncle. I’m leaning towards it and getting her trained up to clean/oil it to reduce malfunctions.
Lets assume your wife is like many new gun owners, both female and male. She will probably train with her new gun once and only once. She will not burn in the idiosyncrasies of a semi auto pistol.
There are up to a half dozen reasons a semi auto fails to fire. With a revolver there is only one – if it is unloaded and you know it is loaded by a quick glance at the cylinder. Revolvers are extremely reliable. Point, squeeze, bang.
Buy your wife a .38 Special or a .357 Magnum and start her off with .38 ammo (not Special but long Colt or short Colt) to lower the recoil effect. I suggest a J frame S&W.

For all the wailing from loonies like Gascon and the SPLC about juvenile offenders being tried, sentenced and housed as adults due to the dangers to the 16/17 year old in an adult facility they seem oddly unconcerned about the danger of placing an adult into a juvenile detention facility. Much less this BS about ‘today I’m a girl so you must place me with females’.
They aren’t concerned for two reasons:
#1 He’s not coming into contact with juveniles. Provided that no one messes up. As much as a lot of people harp on corrections being crap the industry does its job. People only see corrections when bad things happen and end up in the news.
#2 They, the ones who made the decision to lock him up in juvie, don’t have to deal with it. The guards do. It’s always an easy to make “decision” when you’re not the one that has to carry out that decision.

So he will be held in solitary confinement for the entirety of his sentence? In isolation so he doesn’t come into contact with the other children/young people there? Seems to me that might be very hard to achieve in practical matters as he will encounter the other residents no matter what precautions they take.
