This was going to be my losing song.

But I forgot to play it Tuesday night.

Figures.

You don’t want to know what my victory song was. (Actually, I think you know, but I can’t embed it because at least one reader emailed in the past that it might trigger epileptic seizures.)

Excellent choice! I haven’t heard that song in a long time.

My victory song was going to be “Thank God and Greyhound (You’re Gone).” I’ll just have to save it for 2016.

Not bad, Professor, but I’m in more of a mood for this classic:

Stop it. Now. We’ve had out time to grieve (it’s really like grief, isn’t it?), and now it’s time to pull ourselves together and move toward a stronger conservatism. I’m done (done) with faux conservatism under any name, and I’m ready to work for what is right and true and good about America. You are too. I know this.

So stop it.

Meanwhile, I have a losing song: “Waitin’ in Your Welfare Line.”

I decided to withhold this, but the infighting that’s broken out in the previous thread changed my mind. It’s by a conservative poet:

After such knowledge, what forgiveness? Think now
History has many cunning passages, contrived corridors
And issues, deceives with whispering ambitions,
Guides us by vanities. Think now
She gives when our attention is distracted
And what she gives, gives with such supple confusions
That the giving famishes the craving. Gives too late
What’s not believed in, or if still believed,
In memory only, reconsidered passion. Gives too soon
Into weak hands, what’s thought can be dispensed with
Till the refusal propagates a fear. Think
Neither fear nor courage saves us. Unnatural vices
Are fathered by our heroism. Virtues
Are forced upon us by our impudent crimes.
These tears are shaken from the wrath-bearing tree.

This is my mood for times such as these:

I didn’t have a seizure. But I did throw up.

At least Boehner von Hindenburg is enjoying himself, exposing his bargaining hand all over democrat television.

Ok we lost, bad, it sucks. But this needs to be our new song. I linked the version with lyrics…the music might not be to everyone’s taste…

My favorite “lose” song is a take on the Asylum Street Spankers’ “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”. However, I’ve changed Grinch to Axelrod. It fits. Maybe too well.

You’re a Mean One, Mr. Axelrod

You’re a mean one, Mr. Axelrod.
You really are a heel.
You’re as cuddly as a cactus,
You’re as charming as an eel.
Mr. Axelrod.

You’re a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.

You’re a monster, Mr. Axelrod.
Your heart’s an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You’ve got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Axelrod.

I wouldn’t touch you, with a
Thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

You’re a vile one, Mr. Axelrod.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Axelrod.

Given the choice between the two of you
I’d take the seasick crockodile.

You’re a foul one, Mr. Axelrod.
You’re a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Axelrod.

The three words that best describe you,
Are, and I quote: “Stink. Stank. Stunk.”

You’re a rotter, Mr. Axelrod.
You’re the king of sinful sots.
Your heart’s a dead tomato splot
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Axelrod.

Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
With the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
Rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.

You nauseate me, Mr. Axelrod.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You’re a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked horse.
Mr. Axelrod.

You’re a three decker saurkraut and toadstool
Sandwich
With arsenic sauce.

The End

By this time next year Obama is going to wish he had lost on Tuesday night. I can’t see much going right for him. Even Obamacare. Lame duck status is always hard. Incompetent lame duck status will be brutal.

Did Andrew Brietbart’s discovery of a system used to fix national elections get him murdered? Some very interesting material:

http://thefinereport.com/2012/11/was-the-election-rigged-did-andrew-brietbarts-discovery-of-the-system-get-him-murdered-some-very-persuasive-material/

Im not going to allow myself to get “bummed” or marginalized in response to it all.
Ill continue to play Van Halen’s Jump.

Ive learned, going way back to the Goldwater defeat all those years ago, patience is indeed a virtue.

Ive also learned another simple fact: Dont attempt to define an entire electorate by the results of an election or two. This is till the same center right electorate that handed Bush a substantial win in 2008.
A popular vote win larger than Obama got this year.

And dont read too much into how voters perform during a prolonged recession/downturn.
When people feel threatened financially they are apt to vote for extending the old safety net.
Is it really unreasonable that financially uncomfortable people might vote for the administration that seems to provide things like extended unemployment and food stamps?
Im sure everyone has done things that they wouldnt necessarily do during “uptimes”.

Patience. Now is the time to observe every economic move by Obama. Do the work the media wont do and build a rock solid case for a different economic approach. A different take on some social issues. And somehow rebuild the Republican Party where we stop supplying the opposition with talking points that make us appear fractured.
The RINO/Teaparty division has to learn to live under one tent. As done in Texas, we need to do more about advancing young Latino leaders.
We have too much constructive work to do rather than waste time with infighting that simply arms Democrats.

My 2 cents.

2004^^^ sorry…typo

All my sorrow…my choice for song is still a silent warning, “You’ll lose a good thing” by Barbara Lynn…worth a listen!

I was thinking of Taps after discussing the urban legend of its origin with my daughter yesterday.

This election really energized me more than ever to leave California after it voted for more taxes and giving the Democrats super majority in Sacramento that allows them to increase taxes without Republicans’ votes. I’m thinking of taking my family to one of the swing states and lend my support to the Republicans there.

Oh, boy, does that song bring back memories! I was keeping a journal in high school, and I ended up having a “song of the day” in it – this was the song that I had for the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin.
