Organization Representing Pharmacy Schools Adds Commitment to Diversity and Anti-Racism to Pharmacist Oath

So now pharmacists now have to swear an oath to the left’s agenda. That’s where we’re headed in pretty much everything.

Pharmacy school organization updates new pharmacist oath to include commitment to diversity, ‘antiracism’
An organization representing college pharmacy schools and a group representing pharmacists have passed an update to their Oath of a Pharmacist, requiring new members to commit to “diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism.”
The changes were recommended by both the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Board of Directors and the American Pharmacists Association Board of Trustees and were finalized in November.
The organizations will hold a profession-wide virtual event in early 2022 for pharmacists, faculty members, pharmacy students, and others to reaffirm the new oath. Further, the new oath will be used for all Spring 2022 pharmacy school commencement ceremonies.
“The joint committee led a critical charge of boldly expanding our professional oath to include the necessary elements of equity, inclusion, and diversity,” said Lakesha Butler, director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy in a statement.
“The revised oath charges all pharmacists to take an active responsibility in promoting health equity and commit to being change agents in the system of pharmacy practice and beyond.”…
The new Oath of a Pharmacist reads:
I promise to devote myself to a lifetime of service to others through the profession of pharmacy.
In fulfilling this vow:
I will consider the welfare of humanity and relief of suffering my primary concerns.
I will promote inclusion, embrace diversity, and advocate for justice to advance health equity.

As long as it’s open for modification, can we stick in the part about “are you now or have you ever been…?”
If pharmacists are required to take this oath, that’s really OK as long as they remember to use the words in REAL meanings, not PC definitions:
Inclusion: Means including everyone, including conservatives and Trump supporters.
Diversity: Means diversity of everything, especially diversity of thought and diversity of politics.
Justice: Earning your living and getting to keep what you earn. The right to defend yourself, your home, and your belongings against criminals. Punishing criminals appropriately.
I honestly do not understand what we are asking our pharmacy graduates to do (assuming that they fully agree with the oath.)
For example, if a graduate goes to work for a national drugstore chain like CVS, does he perform his job, including putting the correct prices on dispensed drugs or is he promising to play robin hood and misprice dispensed drugs like Robin Hood?
If CMS/Medicare has a formulary, and he personally disagrees with it in the name of social justice, should he knowingly depart from the formulary in the name of social justice?
If a Physician prescribes a name-brand drug, should he substitute generic drugs or off-label drug use in the name of social justice?
If a wealth client or one with good insurance coverage order 100 expensive pills, is the graduate promising to steal 10 of his pills to give to another client who can’t afford the same medication, in the name of “advancing health equity.?”
It seems to me that just about everything they teach in pharmacy school and the entire structure of the US drug industry is the antithesis of “health equity” down to making it illegal for Medicare to negotiate drug prices. How does requiring a false oath address the underlying problem? This is just performative nonsense.
