LA County Unleashes Proof of Vaccine Mandate on Bars, Clubs, and Breweries
As predicted by many, once Gov. Newsom survived the recall, there would be a deluge of new COVID rules.
As foreseen by many Legal Insurrection fans and me, once Governor Gavin Newsom survived the recall effort, new COVID mandates and restrictions would be unleashed across the state.
Los Angeles Country quickly released plans for new requirements on indoor bars, nightclubs, breweries, and wineries, mandating patrons offer proof of vaccination before they can enter the premises.
Los Angeles County is planning on issuing a new health officer order later this week that will require proof of vaccination for indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and lounges. The order will also require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test for outdoor mega-events, including Dodgers, Rams and Chargers games, County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer told the Board of Supervisors Wednesday.
The order will require customers and employees at the indoor nightlife establishments to have at least one dose of vaccine by Oct. 7 and receive their second by Nov. 4.
According to Ferrer, the order will strongly recommend, but not require, vaccine verification for indoor portions of restaurants.
Mega-events will also be impacted by new rules.
The order will also require all attendees, employees and participants of outdoor “mega-events” — those attended by 10,000 or more people — to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours.
“This modified health officer order aligns with the continued need to reduce risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” Ferrer told the county Board of Supervisors. “This is a reasonable path forward that will position us to be better able to break the cycle of surges.
However, the COVID-mandate-excess isn’t confined to the greater Los Angles area either.
San Francisco and Berkeley require customers age 12 and older in indoor restaurants, bars and gyms to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
Contra Costa County, the Bay Area’s third most populous, has ordered those customers to either show proof of vaccination or a recent negative coronavirus test result.
Palm Springs and neighboring Cathedral City have ordered patrons 12 and older to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative coronavirus test to enter indoor restaurants and bars.
Starting Oct. 11, West Hollywood will require patrons 18 and older to show proof they are fully vaccinated to enter indoor restaurants, bars, clubs, theaters and gyms, as well as personal care establishments, including barbershops, nail salons and tanning services.
Good luck enforcing all of this!

The venues will just support self attestation and nothing will change…

If you take a shot at the king, best not miss or face retaliation.
Most of the people in California are democrats. The so-called retaliations will affect them also. What a bunch of idiots for not recalling the king when they had the chance. Now they can all eat cake.
Yes, let them create their own Hell. Those who do not like it should leave. It will not change. It’s what the vast majority of its people want.
Even worse if you could easily have shot the king, but just couldn’t be bothered.
” if you would strike the king, striketh not to wound. “
For generations, the left has used the ICC to prove things like this interfere with interstate commerce. Time to deploy Alkinsky’s rule against them.
Because who really needs a functioning economy? It just results in inequity anyway.
But not on movie studios or private functions at the French Laundry
Replying to transvaccinated short above….funny how easily this emotional argument for trans rights fits his:
It’s not his fault he wasn’t born with immunity! You shouldn’t make him get a medical procedure to conform to societal norms!
Because we have to protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated, or something.
This is day one of a golden opportunity for some serious Republican candidate to step up and begin a campaign against Gov Hair Gel exposing how he is doing exactly the opposite of everything he promised when first elected.
He didn’t lose an election yesterday. He SURVIVED a recall that was triggered by MOSTLY DEMOCRATS mostly over the lockdowns and illegal immigration. His statements since Tuesday reflect that he doesn’t get this. He has crowed about the recall failure being a mandate for the lockdowns and everything else Californians are angry over. So naturally, the passion behind the recall is now higher than ever.
And please, all of you ignorant CA haters, spare us all your ignorant, knee-jerk insults. We get it. The word California makes turns you all into ignorant retards. And tell your squishy candidates to stop coming to CA looking for dirty campaign money.
It’s now up to the Republicans to find their gonads and take the initiative (good luck with that). Not a sign nor word from anyone, local or national. The RNC handed over CA to the Dems in 2006 under President Cheney. Now they are focusing on losing Texas the same way. If only people would wake up.
Abbot is NOT the guy who will save you. Cruz should give up on being a useless senator and run for governor where he could really make a difference. But he narrowly won re-election over Paddy O’Rourke so…. He has been a useless senator yet he believes he is “the guy” to be the next president?
You just gotta let the insults roll off and go on.
I get them all the time for higher ed despite not being part of the loony left that’s mainstream in this field. I also get them for Virginia turning into a blue state.
I think it helps if you realize they are insulting the same people you despise from an angle that you might not immediately take but can still understand the frustration.
64-36 and you’re telling Texans how to run their state?
you might want to look at Oregon and Washington state to see what Texas’s future has in store, they were the first participants of the out flux of Californians from the carter era, look at the number moving into Texas
What’s that got to do with Phil’s dumping on Abbot and Cruz?
I do not know anybody who trusts Abbott to do what is right because it is right. He has primary challengers so he doing some good but under duress.
Cruz seems different than he used to be. I suspect he is getting extorted in some way – “Real nice family you have…” or something (The CCP is ruthless and evil and they intend to rule). He makes some noise and does nothing. That is not his natural state.
I’m telling you Texans to WAKE UP!! The most wide-open border on earth and you have been blaming CA for your problems forever. It’s time to grow up and stop lecturing and mocking Californians who didn’t vote for this. I’ve been here since 1989 and until they installed the vote redistribution machines, we always voted correctly. It took corrupt courts and a corrupt state legislature to fight off the voters. And if unless you are completely and willfully blind, there is a ton of resistance going on here that you don’t find in sleep-walking Texas.
We don’t have a “Don’t mess with Texas” idiom to embrace and get the warm and fuzzies over as if it is true. Texas is every bit as bad today as CA was less than ten years ago and Texas is the HQ for open borders bureaucracy and open borders overall. How about those 8,000 illegals living under that border bridge with 120,000+ coming through everyday? How about all of your sanctuary cities? Instead of chanting “we ought to just give CA back to Mexico”, how about taking Texas BACK from Mexico?
I almost moved to Austin TX in 1983 and I’m glad I didn’t. I have a decent book of clients there and until recently, traveled there regularly. One of my college classmates ran for Congress out of Austin and just lost by just a handful of votes. So I am not ignorant about what is going on there. But you Texans are smug and vicious with your ignorant abuse towards CA. Take a look in the mirror. At least we Californians recognized what was happening. When is Texas going to wake up?
I’m not a Texan.
I’d like to give you a heck of a lot more than one uptick. I’ve held for years that Texans talk a great line, but do damned little.
Texas this and Texas that, but, in the end, they have their sanctuary cities, and gave us three of the most atrocious presidents I’ve seen in m lifetime.
assume you’re including “w” who is not and has never been a texan
Larry Elder is almost the definition of a serious candidate, and yes this was an election whatever you want to call it people voted on Gavin Newsom’s political future.
There are Scottish conservatives am I to pretend SNP is unpopular among Scotts and it is a very conservative place?
The Wuhan virus bioweapon response has unleashed the vile Dhimmi-crats’ unrestrained and obnoxious inner caudillo. Now, the totalitarian Dhimmi-crats feel totally unabashed in brazenly handing down imperial diktats from on high.
The people who voted for Newsom and/or voted to keep him in place are getting what they voted for. I hope they enjoy getting it good and hard.
Those who didn’t need to decide if continuing to live in New Venezuela is worth it it they are financially able to leave. Lots of red states need fortifying and I’m sure they’d love to have you.
Those who voted against him should now vote with their feet. And I
And I don’t mean baby steps.
I have been trying to find a historical parallel for the conduct of the Covid regime/response for some time. I have settled on WWI. The British high command, govt and media displayed the same faults we see from our public health/ political leadership/ media today.
A stubborn, wilful refusal to allow the facts on the ground to change their policies and strategy. Just as the British Govt of the day allowed Haig to disastrously destroy the British Army multiple times; the Somme 1916 in particular, with the media suppressing any dissent we have nearly the same circumstances and actions today.
Cast Fauci as Haig, with the entire apparatus of the government backing his BS solutions and today’s media + social media ruthlessly suppressing dissent and it seems to fit. Comments more than welcome.
And yet, they still have statues of Haig, and many people defend him to this day. He beat the Germans, you know, not the Americans who took ground the other allies could not, and with comparatively light losses, and who stopped the Michael offensive from reaching Paris at the Marne. You see, Haig loosened up Jerry in Flanders 500km away to enable the Americans to break open the southern sector that ground up the French to point of military mutiny just a year before.
That the British army did not break is a miracle and testament to the tenacity of the British Soldier. Lions led by donkeys as the saying goes.
I am not sure what animal the American people ar these days, but they are definitely led by asses.
Yeah, the British I have been deployed with were a good bunch. We don’t have anything to teach them about a ‘fighting spirit’ that’s for certain. In WWI their professional Army was largely destroyed early on. The remnants became the core of the larger force that was wasted again at the Somme. Haig and his grandiose ideas for the cavalry on a modern battlefield riding into wire and machine guns, strict orders for daylight attacks…those alone should have seen him relieved and shot.
This comparison between Fauci/Haig and Covid/WWI is scary. I have looked for better alternatives but the combination of the roles of the govt refusing to rein in Fauci and the media actively suppressing dissent are unparalleled outside the WWI comparison.
The societal changes wrought in the aftermath of WWI leave me wondering what will our experience be post Rona? Assuming we are allowed out of our Rona nightmare.
And California has just created a black market for fake vaccine cards! And more opportunities criminalize otherwise law abiding citizens; More opportunities to levy fines and more opportunities to send more people to for-profit prisons.
Immunity is either presumed or doesn’t matter.
That said, if they cared, they would close planned parent/hood facilities and practices, isolate at-risk individuals (e.g. “fat is beautiful”, “healthy at any weight” #NoJudgment #NoLabels), provide full respirators to vulnerable people… persons, and stop denying and stigmatizing effective, safe, inexpensive therapeutic treatments that mitigate infection and disease progression.
When blacks and Latinos are turned away from the aforementioned venues, standby for ensuing hilarity.
This is a good read if you haven’t already.

Newsolini’s totalitarian wrath is now unleashed.
That’s one giant step for civil war.
believe that ultimately newsom and his ilk wil come to an end similar to il duce–eventually gav, as you’ve been steadily giving them more and more(and especially if it’s free)they’re going to want it all–and your skinny ass and your soiboy psychophants will pose no obstacle to the insatiable mob
‘psychophants’
Never seen this neologism before, but I like it.
He just won over 60% of the vote that is good even for a blue state.
California Democrats will vote Adolph Hitler before they vote Republican, enough violent rhetoric. Nobody is being lynched.
The vile Dhimmi-crats are so manifestly stupid, dim-witted, narcissistic and lacking in self-awareness that they truly can’t comprehend how totally Orwellian and totalitarian these imperially obnoxious diktats appear to rational and sane people — having to flash a badge/ID card everywhere you go, in order to live life and to engage in every-day activities.
