Bucknell University’s Intro to Trans Studies Only has Five Students

Did Bucknell University think people would want to take Intro to Trans Studies?
Five students out of 15 slots. Bucknell supposedly keeps class sizes between 15-35 students. The classes on the lower end are usually seminars for juniors and seniors.
It sounds ssssooooo interesting along with the other not well-received “identity” courses:
“The new Bucknell University course the ‘Introduction to Trans Studies’ explores the gender binary and the relationship between the foundations of our society and gender,” the campus newspaper The Bucknellian reported.
The new class is the first transgender studies course in the university’s history and is a part of the Women’s and Gender Studies Department, it reported.
“Introduction to Trans Studies focuses on questioning the gender binary and also the relationship between the foundations of our society and gender,” the Bucknellian reported.
“In the course description the field is described as, ‘an interdisciplinary field that explores understandings of sex and gender through the discussion of lived trans experiences and theoretical tools to analyze gender, desire, embodiment, and identity.’”
Introduction to Trans Studies isn’t the only social justice course struggling to admit students, according to the campus source. They also claimed multiple humanities courses are struggling to find students.
“Feminist Thought and Action has 14 seats available out of 25; another seminar, Geographies of Identity, has only 2 more students than the Trans course does. Africana Studies has similar problems with enrollments. … One of their Intro to Africana Studies is only half full, two have 5 and 6 students out of 25 seats in each.”

How many of those five are there for an easy A?
These are not academic courses. They are entirely political. Rather than focusing on how hard it is for them to fill seats, I’m horrified at how many people are willing to shell out good money to be indoctrinated.
They shell out good money for the final certificate, and absorb the indoctrination as the price.
The final certificate itself can be thought of as a “vaccination passport” for employment.
The next step will be to make this course one of several that fulfill a “diversity” requirement in order to graduate. That’s how they generally fill these useless courses.

I’d sign up for the course, then bring in a Borg Warner 3-speed manual, set it on my desk, and just wait to be asked what it is and why I have it.

There’s a Procrustean solution to their enrollment problem, but they’d need to find a Western Civ professor to explain to them what that means.
These are obviously not “academic” classes, but propaganda and indoctrination. In a sane world, courses with enrollment numbers like these would be canceled if they don’t at least pay the cost of the class.
