NJ Man Charged With Murder Two Days After Release From Prison Due to COVID
NJ Gov. Murphy claimed his EO to release prisoners to curb COVID outbreaks struck “a balance between public health, public safety, and victims’ rights.” I beg to differ.
New Jersey authorities charged two men with the murder of an 18-year-old on November 6, 2020.
Jerry D. Crawford, one of the men charged, left prison two days earlier due to Gov. Phil Murphy’s initiative to curb COVID outbreaks in prison. Over 2,000 inmates left prison in November 2020.
Murphy presented the executive order in April 2020.
Tonight, I signed an EO allowing vulnerable, low-risk inmates to receive temporary home confinement to protect their health and the health and safety of those working in our correctional facilities, striking a balance between public health, public safety, and victims’ rights. pic.twitter.com/N2xiT6ZzEC

Crawford left prison on November 4, 2020.
David Scarborough, 18, died two days later, allegedly at the hands of Crawford and Yusuf Waites:
He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators found two distinct groupings of shell casings at the scene, according to court documents filed in the case.
Detectives learned Scarbrough had been at nearby Burlington Manor Apartments prior to the shooting and surveillance video from that complex showed him with two other men, documents said.
He can be seen leaving the area on foot with those men and they are last seen walking toward the area where Scarbrough died, investigators noted in affidavits of probable cause filed in the case[.]
Crawford and Waites face first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder charges.
Waites left prison a month before the murder. Authorities also indicted him “for attempting to kill two other men in a sweeping indictment involving eight other defendants, another killing, a drive-by shooting and a daylight gun battle.”

Will this murder be counted as a COVID death?
Probably, if they could get away with it. Using leftwing ‘logic’… he would not have murdered if not for Covid (and for being released when he should not have been).
It’s more of a Covid related death than someone who dies of a heart attack ‘with’ Covid.
It should be counted as a death caused directly by the governor’s action.
FACT: Jerry D. is low risk to Governor Murphy and other high rise government administrators heavily protected by a $100,000+ swath of burly highway patrolmen and SS types.
What Jerry D. needs to straighten himself out is a seat in one of those new, no-nonsense, no fault medical schools like that one in upstate NY y’all feature here.
All the boy needs is some direction. With a finely honed scalpel and a cross buck saw, J. D. could put the “gross” in the gross anatomy class.
Here’s to a full scholarship for JD to some fit place.
The death sentence for people like this would prevent their spreading Covid as well. Follow the science, you mouth breathers.
Resources are always limited, it makes more sense to terminate people like this, and use resources it takes to imprison them to otherwise improve society. How many children could be saved with the money it takes to imprison someone for life?
I have seen people argue that it is too costly to execute criminals, but that is only because death penalty opponents have gotten away with gaming the system. I would like to see death penalty appeals fast tracked, say with a strict 5 year limit.
Take the qualified immunity from the officials that left them out.
“I’m innocent, your Honor. Systemic Racism is the real killer.”
Is that why he’s smiling?
No. 8n this Era ow woke, he is showing off his smile for the Crest division of Proctor & Gamble.
”Crest has been shown to be an effective decay-preventive dentifrice that can be of significant value when used in a conscientiously applied program of oral hygiene and regular professional care.”
It was the best “Choirboy Trayvon Martin” photo they could find of him, prison orange and all.
Thugvon Martin, the case which exposed rabid black racism.
I’m innocent your Honor. It’s the governor’s fault for letting me out.
This is really a pretty good argument. It’s obvious this guy is non functional in the real world and the government did him great harm by removing him from a controlled environment.
Good to see the d/progressive making the case in the real world to keep convicted criminals behind bars for the duration of their sentence.
They are also clearly demonstrating the abject failure of the screening process they used to evaluate whether the convicted criminals they selected for compassionate release were a threat to the public.
The d/progressive failures are mounting each day. Inflation, crime, schools, ECT. Hopefully enough people who either stayed home or worse voted for these policy failures will reevaluate their choices. We shall see.
He had a score to settle. It’s a cultural thing.
Yeah, but for ever action there must be an equal and opposite reaction. In this case the death penalty.
The notion of an ‘Honor’ culture and reprisals is not limited to the ‘black’ community. It’s prevalent throughout the Southern USA. Some attribute that to the Scottish and Irish influence on the cultural mores of the broader southern culture which was and is absorbed by others because it is a dominant part of the wider culture.
Let’s not forget the Italian, Russian, and Chinese mobs.
Also true.
Not nearly as “prevalent” as it was in decades past but still not unknown.
.
He was disrespected, what makes POS think they deserve respect?
Newsom in CA is planning on releasing 70,000+ felons.
Tolerance for the stupid, corrupt and insane people running our nation is our own insanity.
Gov Murphy should explain why Crawford and Waites were issued “carry permits”. What were their “justifiable needs”, respectively ? … What studies can the Governor provide that show CoVid to be more deadly than a violent personality ? And, was it the Governor’s Office, the State Police or the State Dept of Health that sponsored those studies ?
Of course they need carry permits… look at the people they hang around with.
COMPASSIONATE RELEASE ? ?
Covid was ravaging prisons in 2020 and so something had to be done. I wonder if there were some choice other than releasing inmates. In any case – all inmates eventually get released to the public. This guy likely would have committed this crime even if he had served his full sentence.
I also wonder why the release was done in November of 2020 — at least nine months after Covid was killing people in large numbers and just as a vaccine was found to be effective. Did the 2020 Election play into the release date (ie no release until after the 2020 election to protect Democrat candidates).?
What a crazy looking M-F’er
You can tell by his picture they should’ve kept that one behind bars.
My thoughts exactly. Sometimes you CAN judge a book by it’s cover, and that one looks about as crazy as a shithouse rat. Put him under the jail and throw away the key.
Years ago (going by memory, there was a criminal (white POS) released from jail. He kidnapped a teen, took her out to the desert, raped her, hacked her arms off, and left her her to die. After 7 years, released, he murdered another woman.
As I recall, his name was Lawrence Singleton, That case turned me into a capital punishment advocate.
“I distinguished that the face looked heavy and stupid, and in it was imprinted a sort if dull, bovine wonderment.”
Gen. Hamilton on the Russian race after observing the Russo-Japanese War.
He had Putin in his headlights.
Don’t y’all like “bovid wonderment”? Ole Blank Joe, all the way.
Reckon who’s singing?
Another dazzling urbanite.
Based on the mug shot, he looks happy. And that’s really the important thing.
Bonus shot: You want to know why I prefer knives? Unlike guns, you don’t have to reload knives.
But the lawyers are telling me, so. Guns are fine. Just saying.
