As the delta variant of the coronavirus sweeps across the United States, a growing number of colleges and universities are requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for students to attend in-person classes. But the mandatory requirement has opened the door for those opposed to getting the vaccine to cheat the system, according to interviews with students, education and law enforcement officials.
Both faculty and students at dozens of schools interviewed by The Associated Press say they are concerned about how easy it is to get fake vaccine cards.
Across the internet, a cottage industry has sprung up to accommodate people who say they won’t get vaccinated for either personal or religious reasons.
An Instagram account with the username “vaccinationcards” sells laminated COVID-19 vaccination cards for $25 each.
A user on the encrypted messaging app, Telegram, offers “COVID-19 Vaccine Cards Certificates,” for as much as $200 apiece. “This is our own way of saving as many people as we possibly can from the poisonous vaccine,” reads the seller’s message, viewed by at least 11,000 app users.
An increasing number of inquiries to these sites and similar ones appear to be from those who are trying to get fake vaccination cards for college.
A Reddit user commented on a thread about falsifying COVID-19 vaccination cards, saying, in part, “I need one, too, for college. I refuse to be a guinea pig.”

My vax card has the lot # of the vaccine, site given and date. It should be easy to check lot# if nothing else to verify a vax card.
Handwritten? Ever tried to read a doctor’s handwriting?
And, of course, the government doesn’t have a system that actually tracks those lot numbers.
Nope typed on a lovely label and affixed to the card. I ‘assume’ this is because in my corner of the woods(at the time I had them done) we had Army medics and other Army folks doing the Covid shots and they typed the stuff on the labels.
Handwritten? My vet takes a sticker off the various dog vaccine bottles and sticks it to the dog’s health record card. Highly-trained physicians can’t figure this out?

Doctors don’t give shots. They are chicken and make the nurse, nurse practitioner, hospital tech, medic, etc. Give them.
That’s a good sign. I’m glad there are fewer sheep than I originally thought.

We already know how to solve this.
Every card has to have a serial number. On all four corners, on both sides, to prevent “shaving.”
The federal government needs a national registry that doctors will call in to whenever they issue a card to somebody. We could call it the National Instant COVID Check System, or NICCS. This is necessary to combat “straw vaccinators” — people who get the vax over in over, then supply the cards to people unqualified to possess one.
A national registry would be created to associate a particular person with a particular card serial number permanently.
The feds could hire someone like David Chipman to run it. He’d love it.

I thought that some states issued executive orders or adopted legislation that prohibited the creation of any “vaccination passport.” The cards were never intended to be a robust control to authenticate who was vaccinated. Rather, it was somewhat of a reminder as to when you would need your second shot or your booster shot.
These COVIDiots have their knickers in knots over potentially “fake” vax ID cards? I bet they’re just okey doke with fake ballots though, or no Voter ID at all, right?
It just occurred to me that we’re talking about a piece of paper with stuff written on it that may be false. Are these people worried about newspapers, too?
You know your society’s in serious trouble when authorities are more concerned about IDs for experimental poison shots than they are about voter IDs.
