State of Oregon to Start Teaching Race in Kindergarten
“Although Oregon schools are not required to implement these new standards until 2026, they have been approved for classroom use as of March of this year.”
That’s strange. Democrats and the media have assured me that this sort of thing isn’t happening.

Teaching Race in Kindergarten
From school boards to state legislatures, a battle is raging over how public schools should teach students about race and racism in the United States. Much of the debate has centered around opposition to “critical race theory,” which many have pointed out is based on a body of legal scholarship that is rarely, if ever, actually taught at the K-12 level.
Yet the focus on the term often obscures more than it illuminates. What’s driving concern about what’s being taught to schoolchildren is a new racialism that directly challenges the colorblind approach that has been hegemonic in public schools since the civil rights movement.
Under the colorblind approach, we were taught to view people as individuals, to emphasize our common humanity, and to avoid racial or ethnic generalizations. Under the new racialism, we are told that it is naïve to believe that transcending race is possible in a society where every institution is shaped by past and present racism; therefore, we need to acknowledge, emphasize, and place value on racial categories.
If you want to know how this new racialism manifests in the real world, look no further than Oregon’s Kindergarten 2021 Social Science Standards, which have been updated to integrate “ethnic studies.” Standards like this one lay out the knowledge, skills, and understandings that educators are expected to impart to their students, and teachers use them as a rough guide for composing their lessons for the year. Although Oregon schools are not required to implement these new standards until 2026, they have been approved for classroom use as of March of this year.

Kindergarten social science?
When I attended kindergarten, I remember playing with blocks (I built a lot of things with those blocks!), recess outside where there was a nice tree to climb, and maybe being read to a bit.
I later became an engineer. My experience with those blocks, and the tree climbing, was a lot more relevant than social science brainwashing would have been.
Nah they get fancy in K now. This is why many many parents hold their kids back a year from first grade. The concepts taught in Kindergarden are what I was introduced to in 2nd grade. Since they are usually not emotionally ready to move from ‘play’ learning to more structured learning they are seen as behind and held back. Needless to say my opinion is that it is stupid.
And yet by middle school, they’re behind where we were at those ages. Certainly not ahead. Also they’re enforcing conformity now unlike anything we ever had. In K I was playing with blocks. In 1 and 2, we had desks that we could stick chewing gum onto, even carve into if nobody was watching. When one of my kids was in K, he had to stay within a small circle on a carpet, and he was punished for moving outside of it. No desk to push his muscles against in 1. They’re not teaching more, but they’re also forgetting obvious features of kids wanting to move around or at least fidget.
How exactly do you “teach” race? Especially to a kindergartner?
The basic overview in Pollyana(a favorite of the CRT grade schools) is exalting skin color. There are many lessons introducing the concert of the importance of skin which then move on to the importance of the color of the skin. By the end of K you have skin color placed as a high value in terms of your sense of self. From there they can progress to more intricate concepts tied to why skin color is so incredibly important.
Part of it is teaching bad mental health and shame to the white kids. Antiracism is the idea that white people must not be allowed to have good solid self esteem.

They want to indoctrinate the kids with leftist ideology and prevent them from using any real logic about what the world is really like.
They want to teach kids that the US is terrible and racist and capitalism is bad. Yet we have a crisis at the border because everyone else in the world, especially black and brown people, want to live here.
