She spent $70,000 in the past three months on private security. But that’s okay because she is so freaking important:
I’m going to make sure I have security because I know I have had attempts on my life. And I have too much work to do, there are too many people that need help right now for me to allow that. So if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend ten more dollars on it, you know what, I get to be here to do the work, so suck it up. And defunding the police has to happen. We need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets.

Once again I recommend an anti hypocrisy act that prohibits expenditure of funds for any activity by those who advocate the elimination or reduction of the activity in general.
Advocate for gun control or refund/re imagine policing? No private security and no assigned protection detail or anything else above the level you wish to impose upon the general public.

Kay Baily Hutchison, and then-Rep. Tom DeLay, all Republicans, led the legislature to change the law and move public integrity prosecutions away from the office, which has long been controlled by partisan Democrats, to the impartial Texas Rangers, the state’s top law enforcement agency. Allegations such as the witness tampering accusation that Det. Fugitt leveled at DA Garza and his office would fall under that purview, with the Texas Rangers. The news about the Rangers investigation came in comments from one of Perry’s defense attorneys during the hearing, and Judge Brown indicated his awareness of that investigation as he dismissed the motion without prejudice. It can and likely will come up again in the case. The Texas Rangers customarily will neither confirm nor deny whether an investigation is ongoing.

Following the hearing on Wednesday 04 August in the 147th Criminal Court, Judge Clifford Brown presiding, the APD assistant chief ordered Fugitt not to speak with defense attorneys (it’s perfectly legal for Fugitt to do so) and threatened him with an IA investigation.

As Perry’s defense attorneys pointed out, there are terms for the APD’s actions toward Fugitt. Witness tampering and intimidation.
This reminds me of what the Feds are doing in the cases of those 1/6 trespassers. They submitted everything under seal, falsely claiming national security concerns. What they’re really doing is preventing defense attorneys from doing their jobs. Normally in a case where large numbers of people are accused of committing the same crime at the same time and place, the attorneys for the similarly situated defendants coordinate their defense.
The last thing the DoJ wants is to allow the defendants to mount an effective defense against the false charges. Because even trespassing can’t stick when the video and photographic evidence shows the Capitol Hill Police not only waving these “rioters” into the building through open doors, but opening and holding open doors for elderly ladies, who were later charged with “illegal parading” in the rotunda.
As an aside; apparently Zach would approve as he appears to be a fan of coerced confessions. As many have noted, the process is the punishment. Had these possible trespassers been leftists, they would have merely been fined $50 and released. That’s what happened to the members of the mob who disrupted the Kavanaugh hearings. That’s what happened to the mob Schumer led to the Supreme Court which attempted to breach the doors of the building, forcing the court to suspend hearings on an abortion case. Sen. Schumer threatened Kavanaugh and Gorsuch by name if they didn’t reach the correct decision as demanded by his mob.
Apparently it’s not much of a crime to disrupt the functions of government by attacking federal buildings in broad daylight (that fraud Merrick said that the violent Antifa/#BLM assaults on federal buildings in Portland weren’t acts of terrorism because they occurred at night) if you’re a leftist. But if you’re a Trump supporter you are arrested, held indefinitely under abusive conditions where you are fair game for the other prisoners and guards (since municipal officials illegally barred congress members from entering it is only reasonable to conclude that they are hiding the fact the complaints from prisoners are true).
And since these “trespassers” are being held indefinitely, without bail, under oppressive conditions, under conditions designed to coerce a false confession (the DoJ has lots of practice at it; 1/6 is not the first time prosecutors such as Andrew Weissman have employed these tactics to coerce confessions; he used them during the Enron trial, going even further to ensure defendants were detained as far as possible away from family, and of course threatening to prosecute family members for non-crimes if the defendants didn’t confess to whatever he told them to confess), when prisoners confess to crimes they didn’t commit simply to end the ordeal Zach will be along to claim that they must be guilty since they confessed.
In Zach’s world there is no such thing as a coerced confession, right Zach? And if there are, well, they’re still legit. Zach would have functioned well as an “investigator” during a medieval inquisition.
In any case, here’s what Cori Bush and her ilk have planned for the future. Defund the police so their armed Antifa/#BLM can operate unimpeded. Disarm the populace; remember, their violence is free speech, your free speech is violence. And meanwhile they’ll have their own private security forces so that they don’t suffer any consequences.
