CDC Warns About Variants Beating Vaccines, Wants Vaccinated People Masked

“COVID-19 may be ‘just a few mutations’ away from being able to evade vaccines.”

I think the time has come for a serious conversation about what a vaccine is and what it is supposed to do.

By definition, a vaccine is “a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease.”

If your product is not conveying immunity, then can your product be considered a vaccine?

For example, when I was a young girl, I received the measles vaccine. Did you know that the World Health Organization recognizes four predominant measles genotypes currently circulating worldwide? They are D8, B3, H1, and D4. When you include the variants within those genotypes, there is 24 total.

How many times have I gotten measles? Zero.

How many boosters have I received? Zero.

How many people did I infect with measles after my vaccination? Zero.

I get my flu shot annually because there are many different strains (variants that have mutated so much that have become physically different). Therefore, a regular vaccination makes sense. But I have never given someone the flu after my annual dose.

Therefore, when the experimental vaccines arrived, I had hoped that I would not be at risk of infection. But the reports of 5,500 breakthrough cases with these vaccines have me concerned.

That worry is enhanced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), explaining that the coronavirus is “just a few mutations away” from beating the vaccine.

COVID-19 may be “just a few mutations” away from being able to evade vaccines, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky warned Tuesday.

Walensky said the current vaccines are effective against severe cases of the coronavirus, including those caused by its known variants, but its continuing spread could allow the disease to mutate beyond the immunizations’ protection.

“The largest concern that I think we in public health and sciences are worried about is that virus and potential mutations … [have] the potential to evade our vaccine in terms of how it protects us from severe disease and death,” Walensky said at a press briefing.

“Right now, fortunately, we are not there. These vaccines operate really well in protecting us from severe disease and death. But the big concern is the next area that might emerge, just a few mutations potentially away, could potentially evade our vaccines.”

I suggest that, just perhaps, it is not the viral mutations that are the reason for the failures. Instead, the experimental vaccines are not performing as vaccines should. The current formulations should be viewed more as therapeutic agents. They appear to alleviate the worst of the COVID symptoms and enhance the chances of survival in severe cases.

I am not upset about the fact. Speedy vaccine development was an unusual response to a new pathogen that was likely bioengineered by China. I was happy to participate in the experiment, but clearly, the time has come to rethink the approach to COVID-19.

However, the current administration is doubling down on vaccines. I suspect that once President Donald Trump was defeated and the vaccines distributed, the virus was supposed to disappear promptly, and Team Biden could declare victory.

That’s still the war plan they are using.

Biden said on Tuesday he was weighing whether to require all federal workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as the nation faces surging infection rates and hospitalizations caused by the rampant Delta variant.

He spoke just after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended that fully vaccinated against COVID-19 should go back to wearing masks indoors in regions where infections were on the rise.

The moves illustrate how far the nation is from the ‘summer of freedom’ that Biden promised just last month.

Biden was asked about mandatory vaccinations for federal employees during a visit to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

‘That’s under consideration right now,’ he said, ‘but if you’re not vaccinated you’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were.’

Brow-beating people certainly isn’t likely to inspire them to get vaccinated. And if the CDC says mutations will render them ineffective and vaccinated people have to be masked, why would anyone bother to get a vaccine…that is experimental.

As a bonus, the administration is also renewing the mask guidelines for vaccinated people.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended on Tuesday that people vaccinated against the coronavirus resume wearing masks in schools and in public indoor spaces in parts of the country where the virus is surging, marking a sharp turnabout from their advice just two months ago.

The pandemic in the United States is very different than it was in May, when it seemed as if the worst was in the past. Confirmed cases are surging in parts of the country with low vaccination rates, and there are more reports of breakthrough infections with the highly contagious Delta variant in fully immunized people.

As there appears to be no move to change the war plan against the virus, I predict a surge of infections, followed by a decline…followed by another surge and decrease with the following variant. This cycle will repeat until significant changes to strategy occur.

According to a Peer Reviewed Paper in a sociology journal 5 years ago – there is an Insanely High Correlation between Infectious Disease and Authoritarian Tendencies.

That explains a lot! We should have been able to predict all of this Government Excess in response to the Pandemic. And, we should have realized that your neighbors are perfectly fine with you being carried off in the night if they believe it protects their family from the Virus.

At this point, even the slowest amongst us realize you cannot trust anything the CDC says.

Screw this. I’m already vaccinated and the only time I will wear a mask is when it is a prerequisite to enter a government building (my line of work). 2/3rds of my state is unvaccinated and that’s on them.

    NP,

Never say never….but the CDC, NIH and the rest of the public health community has sabotaged their credibility. The deliberate falsehoods and flip flopped positions from the beginning till now require an explanation.

An explanation delivered in a humble manner. One that begins with an apology for the lies and distortions. An apology that lists each into of deviation from the complete truth. A list that includes lies of omission and commission.

Once delivered, then they can begin the long road to earn our trust. They can start with an explanation of why allowing illegal immigrants to move freely within the interior without testing or quarantine serves the interest of public health.

Until they do their opinion and recommendations and decrees can go hang as far as care. Before forgiveness comes repentance. Before repentance comes confession.

‘but if you’re not vaccinated you’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were.’

Says a man who was dull at he peak, and who now has far less marble’s than he started with.

Last I saw the mortality rate (CFR) for the Delta variant was about 0.1%. That’s among known cases. It doesn’t include asymptomatic people who were never tested.

That’s seasonal flu territory.

The so-called Delta variant is no more deadly than the ordinary flu.

On a macro scale, we need to keep our children and adults of child-bearing age as unvaccinated as possible. There are clear indications that the three current vaccines have serious adverse consequences for a far too large segment of our population, and no decent answers, yet.

Further, we have alternative means of handling this disease. There are a number of different antiviral methods that work.

Dr. Fauci’s insistence that the experience of clinicians is less than the “gold standard” of double-blind-placebo controlled trials is facetious in this context. The clinic, with real patients, is where the rubber meets the road during an epidemic. We also have clinical trial results, and on a macro scale, different results obtained through different State policies in the US, and different results by country.

The drug cocktails have an advantage over the vaccines, particularly “leaky” vaccines currently in use: as the leaky vaccines encourage the overgrowth of mutations, the drugs are less likely to lose their potency than the vaccines, because the drugs target 1) viral replication and 2) side effects of the spike protein particles.

If our governments were serious about handling this real epidemic, and were serious about the lives of their constituents, they would be scrambling to use every tool at their disposal. Instead, some States are still trying to deny infected people early outpatient treatments.

Leaving drug cocktails unused is criminal irresponsibility, at best.

You aren’t referring in your concluding comments to Hydroxychloroquine or Ivermectin protocols, are you? That is political heresy – that IMO killed a lot of those 600K. I see early treatment of Covid as sort of like a cheap antibiotic for sepsis or bacterial meningitis – works fine if caught early and you are in desperate shape if caught late.

Again if they are good hitters why don’t they hit good?

I suspect that once President Donald Trump was defeated and the vaccines distributed, the virus was supposed to disappear promptly, and Team Biden could declare victory.

I think the unexpected failure of HB1 and the inability to end the filibuster or pack the Supreme Court knocked the Communists for a loop. The Wuflu was to be like HIV/AIDS, homelessness, the “worst economy since the Great Depression” shtick, and other contrived national calamities: a politically convenient weapon to be wielded against hapless Republicans and never to be mentioned again after the Communists took the White House. HB1 would have mandated North Korea-style elections and cemented the Communists’ rule forever.

If HB1 had passed you would not have heard squat about the Delta variant. But now the Communists seek another path to enact the voting fraud measures they need to stay in power permanently. So from now until November 2022 we will hear breathless accounts about the Delta variant, the Lambda variant, the Delta Tau Chi variant, etc. The new goal is to get in-person voting banned as “unsafe” and go to 100% mail-in ballots, unsecured ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and replace Voting Day with Voting Season lasting weeks or even months.

The new goal is to get in-person voting banned as “unsafe” and go to 100% mail-in ballots, unsecured ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and replace Voting Day with Voting Season lasting weeks or even months.

IOW, the plan is to essentially pass HB1 without ever officially voting on it.

To mandate HB1 style voting by declaring a ‘national emergency’ due to Covid and all its variants.

This is why I do NOT pledge allegiance. This federal government is your opponent, a domestic enemy and ready combatant. There is no lie that they will not tell and many that they have told over and over and over again.

You are supposed to pledge allegiance to the flag, not to the government.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Pasadena Phil. | July 28, 2021 at 1:03 pm

I no longer salute it either. That’s no better than, “my country right or wrong”.

The flag does not – in any way – represent what this nation is supposed to be. It has become nothing more than something used by people like Black Rifle Coffee to appeal to the reflexively patriotic, or is worn as a piece of junk jewelry on the lapels of frauds, crooks, and thieves.

The Pledge also says “….and to the Republic for which it stands.” The Republic is not dead, but it has been severely battered, and many of the protections we once had have been eroded significantly. At the national level it is currently run by people who have made no secret of the fact that they consider people like me potential terrorists because of the color of my skin and what I believe in. They have also made no secret of their desire to enslave or kill people like me. The Constitution and the rule of law are hindering their efforts, but how long before those barriers are bulldozed away?

So I can understand NotKennedy’s sentiment. On the occasions when I recite the Pledge of Allegiance I find myself wondering: does the Republic I am pledging allegiance to still exist?

Viruses mutate. It’s what they do. They mutate in single patients, and that person can pass a more or less dangerous version of the progenitor virus on to yet another solitary person—lather, rinse, repeat. Most viruses have no vaccine because they lose their pathogenicity or simply go extinct. That is no reason to keep Americans masked and living in fear.

That this whole Covidomana is so much medical malpractice is appalling. To keep dredging it up to maintain political control is even more despicable. Watch how in 2022, all of the sudden it will be a new virus from some Chinese laboratory that “accidentally” is released.

WaPo is reporting the federal employee requirement will be announced on Thursday.

It’s time to remove immunity from liability for vaccine makers and enforcers. If they believe their product is good, then make them defend it in court.

These constant vax requirements are leading up to RFID chips in humans.

One week ago the CDC said there would be no change in mask policy. Biden blurts he got his butt wiped. Within 24 hours the CDC announced there would be a change in mask policy…a dramatic change. This policy change was to keep Biden from away from the public as much as possible.

So the vaccines compromise the receiving individual’s immune system to specifically respond (supposedly, provided they continue to “mask-up” and social distance, avoid crowds, the outdoors, etc.) to the original SARS-Covid-2 strain. …

And, now that the “virus” is mutating it is expected that those with “compromised immune systems” will be more vulnerable ? …

But, “politicians” and “their bureaucrats” insist everyone must receive the “vaccine” (which isn’t a “vaccine” according to “their” long standing definition thereof). …

Do they not know how to spell “euthanasia” ?

Sanddog in reply to Sisu. | July 28, 2021 at 7:25 pm

By what mechanism does the vaccine compromise the immune system of the person receiving it?

      nordic_prince in reply to Sanddog. | July 29, 2021 at 5:44 am

It has to do with mass vaccination promoting natural selection of increasingly vaccine immunity (VI)-escaping variants in the vaccinated part of the population, coupled with vaxxes producing specific antibodies rather than nonspecific ones like natural infection would do, thereby supressing whatever nonspecific antibodies they may have.

      Excerpt:

Whereas progressing convergent evolution towards increased resistance against functional, S-specific Abs elicited by the vaccine may not necessarily further increase the affinity of the virus for the Ace-2 receptor (and hence, not commonly cause more disease in young and healthy individuals), it is reasonable to assume that such evolution will rapidly raise the number and severity of disease cases in the vaccinated part of the population. This is because growing VI escape will cause vaccinees to lose their vaccine-mediated immune protection while having their natural, CoV-nonspecific natural Abs suppressed by high titers of long-lived, S-specific vaccinal Abs (4). It is reasonable to assume that, as a general rule, the level of suppression of natural, CoV-nonspecific Abs will increase with increasing strength (adjuvantation!), frequency and coverage rate of booster immunizations (including 2nd generation vaccines!).

        The_Mew_Cat in reply to nordic_prince. | July 30, 2021 at 11:20 am

I’m not sure about that. Vaccinated people will get infected, but usually not get sick. Every time you catch a variant, you build natural immunity to it. Even if you are vaccinated, it is in your best interest to catch as many variants as you can to become more immune. A step in hastening herd immunity.

The vaccines are SO successful that we now need masks and boosters. Uh-huh.

UserP in reply to billdyszel. | July 28, 2021 at 2:46 pm

That’s right. They’re neccessary. It was reported that after Biden got his booster shot today, he immediately put on his booster mask after which. Secret Service agents whisked him away to the oval office where he was placed on his booster seat and Anthony Fauci was dutifully waiting to spoon feed him with a bowl of newly revised, re-hashed, re-heated left-over covid-19 protocols.

Anyone aware of a study/studies that support mask use prevents infection or transmission of COVID? One would think that with Gov’t enforced mask mandates, the CDC would be citing the studies that support that position. Crickets!

I haven’t spent much effort looking but the mask “data” that I’m aware of include the literature review from Univ. of MN(?) about a year ago, the Marine Corps recruit study, the Danish mask study and the multinational healthcare worker data base review. IIRC, all showed minimal/no preventive benefit using masks.

Shaddup, you anti-science freak! You’re supposed to obey us unconditionally! After all, you haven’t studied “science” for a billion years like the great and mighty Faux-chi, so what do you know, you mere peon? Leave sciencing to the experts, and don’t strain your brain by thinking too much.

Each variant will probably be less and less harmful as time goes on. Just like with the Bubonic Plague.

No vaccine can ever replace your immune system, but we have wasted so much time trying to convince people it can.

As for the cycle of the Wuhan, I am thoroughly convinced we have been fighting the common cold all this time.

“No vaccine can ever replace your immune system, but we have wasted so much time trying to convince people it can”

Very true, the correct strategy has always been to protect the vulnerable (Over 70 and those with co-morbidities) including with this mRNA therapeutic, and allow those who are at high risk over severe outcome to naturally catch the virus and gain natural immunity and thereby stop the spread and protect the vulnerable.

What we are doing is prolonging the outbreak and is counterproductive.

“COVID-19 may be “just a few mutations” away from being able to evade vaccines”

I love how this is couched in weasel words. “may be”? That means the speaker doesn’t know anything. This is clear bs without a serious change in deaths, and I see no evidence that this is happening anywhere in the US.

The roots of “vaccine hesitancy” in the Black community can be explained simply using the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Aspects and Assumptions of White Culture.

Two traits of “whiteness” pop up above the others:
a) Must always “do something” about a situation
b) Respect authority

The truth is that to be “less white”, you must embrace “vaccine hesitancy”.

If (when) they try to blame the unvaxed for the variants, remember that the delta strain used to be called the Indian – developed there where only a small percentage were vaxed. Also, remember that Dutch guy who nobody listened to a year ago when he said we cannot vax our way out of this pandemic with non-sterilizing vaxes, we need to focus on therapeutics? Now he’s warning, don’t assume all the new variants will be milder – could go catastrophically the other we if we don’t stop mass vax now. https://twitter.com/GVDBossche/status/1419736804677365769

5,500 breakthrough cases isn’t very many out of 150 million vaccinated people.
