On Thursday Rush Limbaugh read from my post about the false accusation spread by The Guardian newspaper in Britain that Margaret Thatcher was refusing to meet with Sarah Palin because of a dislike of Palin:
I think you and your wife should have dinner again with your friend and his wife. Time for another argument over dinner. Only this time, may I suggest that your friend suggest you run for office.
OT: Ditto on the spiffy layout. Thank you Professor for going to the WordPress system, I’ve been a fan of yours for some time now, and since I’m not a blogger I never was really able to comment here before.
I started coming here after hearing about you dismantle the leftist propaganda over at Think Progress, so I’m not surprised Rush has discovered you.
I also like the way you explain legal issues for people like me that need “translation”. Thank you again.
I heard Rush read that live. What struck me was that there was really no reason for him to mention that he’d read the Telegraph story first at Legal Insurrection. He could have easily developed his own summary to the story, and then given full credit to Nile Gardiner and the Telegraph for their reporting and cut Legal Insurrection out of the loop. But he didn’t. I felt like he WANTED to plug this blog. He WANTED his listeners to know you exist.
Quite a compliment from the “Big Voice on the Right”.
The Guardian is going bust. It’s business model has been to take in tax-payers money for recruitment ads as the parasitic sector grew like a weed in the 13 years of Labour government. Now, not so much.

I heard Rush live when he announced your site! Very exciting. You’re on our Home Page tabs because we check you every day. Thank you for your hard work and insights!
I like the new site, Bill, and I imagine there will be some growing pains. The upshot, though, will no doubt be a significant improvement, if for no other reason than the inherent limitations with the former format.

Congratulations!
And, on topic, good for Rush! Exposure of just one more in a long line of examples of a willingness on the part of some in the press to publish fiction to try to destroy someone, and to get away with it in the MSM.
I posted this, with respect to the recent attention “lavished” on Sarah Palin during her tour in the northeast.
But the drama continues! It is, in a Hemingwayesque manner, “a moveable feast,” with nasty boys like Keller incapable of understanding that doing things like the mass-posting of, and open enlistment of the help of the general public into “gotcha squads”, in order to read through 13,000 Sarah Palin emails from her term as Governor to find something to trash her with is, well . . . un-American. It just is.
And the fact that it all ended up as a wild goose chase, and that they failed to find anything, probably should have been a hint to Keller that maybe something was wrong with the course he and his predecessors have led his newspaper and other media businesses on over time. Wouldn’t you think?
No way! In one of the bitchiest, and most candid press screeds I can ever recall reading, Bill Keller, the outgoing Executive Editor, and incoming regular Sunday columnist for the New York Times has openly expressed his views on why he and others in the press indeed hate Sarah Palin.
He begins with the assertion that:
“If the 2012 election were held in the newsrooms of America and pitted Sarah Palin against Barack Obama, I doubt Palin would get 10 percent of the vote. However tempting the newsworthy havoc of a Palin presidency, I’m pretty sure most journalists would recoil in horror from the idea.”
You betcha, Bill! But we knew that. Why not instead tell us that green plants contain chlorophyll? Or, you could admit that you folks at the New York Times have displayed a consistent and hostile anti-Republican bias over the years, including having endorsed John McCain over his chief primary rival during the 2008 primary season, and then turned around and published a fundamentally dishonest and personal hack job on the man, once he secured the Republican nomination?
Perhaps the average reader would be somewhat less likely to know either one or both of those things. And, therefore, you would be performing an informative public service for at least those few people!
Open and consistent media bias against Republicans, conservatives, and Tea Party supporters is a massive and I think dangerous social problem in our country. Highly personal animus displayed toward folks like Sarah Palin is a manifestation of that larger problem.
And, it is a problem that is obviously not being addressed by many in the mainstream media in anything like a balanced manner, least of all by nasty partisans like Bill Keller.
Having failed miserably to “get her” with his email fiasco, Keller has apparently now decided that “this is personal” and has launched this latest attack.
Sorry for the inadvertent “double first graf,” above. Gee, I really did mean it, but not to the extent of feeling like I had to say it twice! Heh!

Rush quoted Gardiner as having “spoken to Lady Thatcher’s private orifice”. Too much Weiner on the brain, perhaps?
Cool. I can link the YouTube audio when I do a write up on Legal Insurrection 2.0.
Thanks.
Rush always substitutes “orifice” for office. Just like he says “sex-retary” rather than secretary.
I was listening to that segment. First reaction, ‘Hey, I read that blog!’ Nice work.
Off Topic – The new layout is spiffy… Well done, sir!
Professor,
I think you and your wife should have dinner again with your friend and his wife. Time for another argument over dinner. Only this time, may I suggest that your friend suggest you run for office.
I started reading this blog after an article was posted on HotAir after it was read by Rush on his show.

See, more folks were reading you than you thought.
I see the site is up and seems to be working well.
Congrats!

As I recall, I actually found LI from a Rush segment. You are obviously in his show prep list, and rightfully so.
Professor Jacobson got a shout out from The Other McCain blog.
Linked to new site.
I despise the password I was forced to accept to access your new blog: XKI3XM0LH6Yg
Will eventually figure out how to change it. Arrgggghhhh!
So good to have you back among the living! Happy Father’s Day!
