Trump Shuts Down Personal Blog After One Month
Trump launched the blog on May 4 after Twitter and Facebook banned him from their platforms after the January 6th Capitol Hill Riots.
Former President Donald Trump permanently erased his blog “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” from his website.
Senior aide Jason Miller confirmed it will not come back.
“It was just an auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on,” Miller stated in an email to CNBC. “Hoping to have more information on the broader efforts soon, but I do not have a precise awareness of timing.”
Miller said on Twitter that the blog was a “precursor.”
Yes, actually, it is. Stay tuned! https://t.co/USKGvVXe2f

Trump launched his blog on May 4. He set it up sort of like Twitter, but no one could respond to his posts or interact with other people. They could share and like them.
On launch day, Miller said the Desk is not a new social media platform. He promised they would have new information on that “in the very near future.”
I did not expect the Desk to ever go away, though.
NBC News found out that the Desk did not give Trump as much traction as his tweets:
Trump’s new blog has attracted a little over 212,000 engagements, defined as backlinks and social interactions — including likes, shares and comments — received across Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Reddit. Before the ban, a single Trump tweet was typically liked and retweeted hundreds of thousands of times.
Granted, the report from NBC News came out on May 11, only seven days after the launch? But I guess the numbers did not change much since the blog no longer exists.

This just tickles the shit out of Trump-haters. And yet the fact remains Trump is the best president we’ve had in a very long time. And the one we have now is the absolute worst.
Running a bit more worse than Obama.
🤣
It’s all a matter of perspective, isn’t it? If you never worked hard to attain anything in life, I guess it’s easy to sit back and cheer when those who did are destroyed by Democrat policies.
I hope something replaces it. He needs to keep in touch especially if a future candidacy might happen.
It was not a blog. It was an exclusive message center for Trump to post his comments without them being edited by the haters.
It was a bizarre attempt to bypass his Twitter and Facebook blocks–that’s why the only share options were to those outlets. Facebook and Twitter responded by banning any account that posted Trump’s messages. It was worth a try, but it was never going to replace his actual accounts (that seemed to be the goal).
One of the main issues for it not gaining traction was that it was shut down to public comment. All you could do was read and share the posts. That’s not what social media is.
All things considered, it’s good that they pulled the plug on that. It wasn’t getting traffic (due, in no small part, to lacking a way of commenting or providing feedback even in the form of thumbs up or down) and just needs to be memory-holed. The Trump team is suggesting that it will have an actual social media outlet at some point, and that seems to be the best option since he’s apparently not going to join Parler (or whatever existing right social media outlet).
Trump seems to be getting his message out anyway. The Conservative Treehouse, for one, pounces on everything he says and there are others. Once his road show gets going, there will be no keeping him out. We are more than ready for his return to center stage.
That may be the case but nothing is shared, prior everyone saw what Trump said whether you wanted to or not. At the moment his message is only being heard by a relatively small section of the population id suggest.
I don’t so much care about a web site as him being reelected. We also need to find more people with similar traits for other elections. A few have surfaced, but we need far more.
If Trump decides not to run in 2024, it will be because he has found a suitable candidate to campaign for. With Trump, DeSantis has a very good chance. Without Trump, it is hopeless. No one the wherewithal and charisma to win and even if they do, they would not be able to accomplish anything. Trump is the essential colossus that dominates the landscape. Everyone else is background noise.
Trump is not stepping aside. He loves to be the center of attention.
Trump had a blog??
Trump is no good at long-form. Success requires that it be insulting and in your face, aimed at the right people.
He’s Don Rickles funny in short form.
It is like when Limbaugh went from prankster, self-deprecating bigger-than-life to ethics expert. The only reason to continue listening was in hope he’d revert back.
Like Imus after Rutgers, or Lennon after Yoko.
Stick with the form that you brought to the dance.
Sorry… but Limbaugh was not on AIr America. I think you may be confused at whom you were listening.to.
Trump is many things, but conservative isn’t one of them.
Try backing that comment up.
highly unfortunate
Good grief! Stop with the “Capitol Hill Riots” already.
It’s truly disappointing when people who should know better further some morons’ agenda by uncritically repeating their premises.
I think the same thing about the “stolen” election.
If Trump is really serious about running again in 2024 (when he will be 79, incidentally) he needs to focus on the issues: out of control spending, unlimited immigration, race relations, the rise of an increasingly belligerent China, etc.
Trump has no excuse for not being on http://www.Gab.com.
Andrew Torba is doing good work, pro-American good work.
Gab has too many far right nut jobs,
Then don’t follow them.
You know mark doesn’t follow them. He’s repeating something he’s picked up somewhere else. (If you don’t follow what someone says, how are you able to characterize their comments?) How accurate and/or biased his source may be is unknown, so his comment has just about zero credibility.
See statement below, dunno why it didn’t link
You know there is a thing called news where journalists report stuff. You don’t have to have first hand knowledge of something to make a credible statement. Gab has a really fucking poor reputation. We know quite a lot from the hacks that have happened about some of the investors and users from data hacks on the site.
