DeSantis Nixes COVID-19 Vaccine Passports In Florida
DeSantis said no Florida government entity will issue a passport and businesses cannot require patrons to provide vaccine documentation.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an executive order banning anyone from requiring or issuing COVID-19 vaccine passports.
DeSantis tweeted: “Today I issued an executive order prohibiting the use of so-called COVID-19 vaccine passports. The Legislature is working on making permanent these protections for Floridians and I look forward to signing them into law soon.”

The executive order forbids any Florida government entity “to issue vaccine passports, vaccine passes, or other standardized documentation for the purpose of certifying an individual’s COVID-19 vaccination status to a third party.” They also cannot “publish or share” anyone’s COVID-19 vaccination status.
Businesses cannot require “patrons or customers to provide any documentation certifying COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery to gain access to, entry upon, or service from the business.”

This is a good start, but if politicians followed the Constitution it wouldn’t be necessary.
As time goes on moving to Florida is looking like a better and better idea.
I agree. May be necessary to move there if states continue to kowtow to the current administration’s unconstitutional orders.

I fail to understand how that can be challenged a court. A business can’t be able to make a private citizen produce something that the government won’t issue?
But if they want to sue, great…they won’t get any business when no one in Florida can get ze papers.

It’s discriminatory on ADA, religious, disparate impact and other grounds.
Some religions allow objections to vaccines. Doesn’t matter if schools require say MMR, businesses today don’t.
It violates the ADA for those who are immuncompromised and can’t get the vaccine. They have a form of disability.
It discriminated against those who are immune to the disease and have no need to get the vaccine, Eg those already have had it and therefore don’t have a specific requirement to get it.
Slippery slope requirements such as requiring everyone to get the flu vaccine. The flu vaccine could be required on the grounds that the annual flu will be deadlier than COVID going forward

Body my choice” etc etc – there is another life involved in abortion same as there is in vaccinations programs, so the public health argument is not perfect.
It’s discriminatory on a racial basis, many more blacks haven’t received a vaccine than caucasians, therefore it’s disparate impact.

You forgot the most important reason. It’s racist to require people to produce an ID, and a vaccination passport is worthless without an ID.
Employers, according to HIPPA, do not have the right to demand to see an employee’s medical records, which a vaccine falls under. Neither do stores or other types of businesses have the right to demand to see customer’s medical records. Family members cannot see one another’s medical records without being given express permission from each other.
It’s the vaccine passports that would have a difficult time surviving a court challenge. We are not a communist country yet, despite the desperate attempts being made by the totalitarian Democrats in federal and state governance.
Like all else regarding these draconian measures being taken in the name of COVID, they can only succeed if people foolishly comply. No mask worn by me yet. No vaccine either. No sickness throughout all these months. If everyone would simply ignore the so-called government experts and go back to living life as usual, they would have to stop all the baloney. It has nothing to do with health and everything to do about power.
Any business that requires I reveal any medical information in order to provide me with services or products can do without my patronage. I’ll simply go elsewhere.
With my medical history my primary physician and I decided that I can’t safely take the vaccine. Plus, I believe I had the cootie virus last year in January-February. No shot, no vaccine passport, no problem. I’ll only do business with merchants and eat in restaurants that don’t ask for one.
Curiously, the order doesn’t forbid Florida state and local government agencies from requiring proof of vaccination (or, for that matter, the damnable masks), and there are no apparent limits on “covid screening protocols”.
That could become problematic for Floridians who need to travel internationally.
