Authorities Charge Two Men With Assault of Officer Brian Sicknick During Capitol Hill Riot
They allege the men assaulted him with bear spray, but “have not determined whether the exposure caused his death.”
Federal authorities charged two men for assaulting Capitol Policer Officer Brian Sicknick with bear spray during the January 6th riot.
From The Washington Post:
Federal authorities have arrested and charged two men with assaulting U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian D. Sicknick with bear spray during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot but have not determined whether the exposure caused his death.
Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania and George Pierre Tanios, 39 of Morgantown, W.Va., were arrested Sunday and are expected to appear in federal court Monday.
“Give me that bear s—,” Khater allegedly said to Tanios on video recorded at the Lower West Terrace of the Capitol at 2:14 p.m., where Sicknick and other officers were standing guard behind metal bicycle racks, arrest papers say.
About nine minutes later, after Khater said he had been hit with bear spray, Khater is seen on video discharging a canister into the face of Sicknick and two other officers, arrest papers allege.
One FBI agent alleges video showed Khater asking for bear spray. Then Tanios said, “Hold on, hold on, not yet, not yet…it’s still early.” The agent claimed “the exchange showed that the two allegedly were ‘working in concert and had a plan to use the toxic spray against law enforcement.”
Khater and Tanios face these charges:
Khater and Tanios are charged with nine counts including assaulting three officers with a deadly weapon — Sicknick, another U.S. Capitol Police officer identified as C. Edwards, and a D.C. police officer identified as B. Chapman. They are also charged with civil disorder and obstruction of a congressional proceeding. The charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Sicknick died on January 7th. The Democrats and left used his death to punish President Donald Trump and his supporters.
Sicknick’s mother believes a stroke killed her son, but no one will give her answers.
FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress his agency “can’t yet disclose” Sicknick’s cause of death.
Sicknick passed away almost three months ago. They already cremated his body. They have to know how he died. Why can’t they disclose the cause of death?
It’s a rhetorical question, but I think we all know why.

I expect these two have been released already and won’t fave any further charges moving forward right???
Only one revolving door arrest in Portland when they attempted to burn down a federal building with people inside.
Remember when Antifa and BLM terrorists tried to seal the doors shut on the Federal building locking people inside when they lit the building on fire? No arrests there either and that was about as premeditated as it gets.
“One FBI agent alleges…”
Fire extinguisher. Bear spray. Different day, same LIE.
Release the effing coroner’s report!
LB1901` is right. “…have not determined whether the exposure caused his death.” The autopsy is complete! Release the autopsy. Read the autopsy, and see the cause of death.
They cremated him and the family is still waiting to know what happened?? WHAT?? This is totally Dem corruption to control and cover their lies…The dude is video tapped saying he was paid by the left to incite violence and create an attack on the capitol. Seems Dems are just dragging the fabrication out because they got caught…AGAIN…for another apparent witch hunt scam on President Trump and supporters for the DC event when it appears the Left planned and choreographed the violence ahead of time.
Of course we all should understand that there has never been a recorded incident of anyone dying from bear spray. It is considered to be much less dangerous than pepper spray.
But OD on fentanyl and it’s the officer’s fault you died.
Bear spray is capsicum. People react to it the same way bears do. If ingested in the lungs, it is coughed out. In the eyes, tears attempt to wash it away impeding vision. It is extremely painful in the eyes, and Officer Sicknick did not mention that to his brother the next day, merely that he got a “wiff” of the spray which is easily the most benign way to be so assaulted.
An allergic reaction to capsicum is very rare and people who have such are well aware of it because it is a progressive allergy, usually made evident by consumption of bell and other very mild peppers. It is evident by an upset stomach. There are no instances of the allergy being fatal.
Capsicum is not fatal. Bear spray and pepper sprays are not intended to be fatal or even cause lasting injury.
Long ago when the world was new and I was still wearing a badge for a living, as a mandatory part of the Academy course and periodically thereafter we had to be deliberately sprayed in the face with oleoresin capsicum so we would know and not forget the effects. No one was happy with it. Nobody got by without very visible effects when sprayed. It was possible to smell it from a distance and not be affected at all when it had been sprayed. And no one had more than temporary effects from it.
Subotai Bahadur
I literally use capsicum based nasal spray to unclog my nose during allergy season.
It is like really hot Chinese mustard.
There are two major differences between bear and pepper spray, The first is that self-defense pepper spray is (so to speak) a directed weapon, while bear spray is an area weapon. (The photos here are especially good.) The second is that bear spray is usually much weaker than self-defense pepper spray. So when the officer says he “got a whiff” of the spray, that’s pretty much exactly what you would expect from bear spray.
Who authorized the officer’s cremation? Was the family involved?
I ask because now that we have defendants, a good defense team would challenge any part of the autopsy that doesn’t fit their narration (of course). With the body of the unfortunate officer cremated, it becomes tougher to do — you can’t demand an independent autopsy now.
How convenient for the government.
Presumably the family. But I wouldn’t doubt in the least that the feds had the body cremated and then told the family that it was done by “mistake” or some other such nonsense.
No. To this date the family apparently doesn’t even know the cause of death let alone anything else. The feds are stonewalling at every chance they get.
Well, no duh. The feds don’t want anyone second guessing their ginned up fake narrative concerning the death of Sicknick.
OK, let’s presume they know Sicknick didn’t die from any cause related to the event of 1/6. But if they’re going to implicate people in his death, they have to show a relationship between the defendants and the experiences of Sicknick on that day. That means they need the cause of death (and the tox report) to comport with the theory of Sicknick’s death. Surely it doesn’t take months to falsify a report? How incompetent do you have to be to not have a falsified report available within hours of deciding you were going to seek charges against someone under the theory that an assault with bear spray caused the death?
OTOH, if Sicknick did die from bear spray they should have long ago either already had (and produced) a cause of death and tox report showing same, or they would have falsified a report to give evidence of something they know to be true (but were unable to prove in legit paperwork). Yet still, neither an accurate report report supporting the theory of the death nor a falsified report created to support an accurate claim. This defies explanation.
Something doesn’t compute here.
After Waco, Ruby Ridge, and the Russia hoax, I should believe Federal authorities … why, exactly?
Is it reasonable that after so many lies they are suddenly and miraculously telling the truth in this case?
Did they hit him with the bear spray canister? I was told over and over again by the media that he was beaten to within an inch of his life with a fire extinguisher by an angry mob.
Also, don’t forget the total hoax about the protestors bringing zip ties. Turns out it was the Feds who has the zip ties and on of the protestors found them on a desk and was planning to hide them so they could not be used on the protestors.
True, but video proved that to be false. One fire extinguisher was thrown but never hit him. So the feds have abandoned that narrative and are apparently trying to construct another where Sicknick died of being sprayed by bear repellant spray by two insurrectionists. We’ll have to see how well that narrative goes.
Fabrication is the new norm. The FBI and CIA operate at the behest of the DNCC (Central Committee). Or is it the other way around?
The people who gathered in Washington, D.C., on January 6th were not insurrectionists, they were not rioters and I hesitate to categorize them as protesters. If anything, they were, for the most part, American citizens attempting to petition the government for a redress of their grievances. The events of January 6th occurred only after the people were repeatedly failed by the governments of the several states and by multiple levels of the judiciary up to and including the United States Supreme Court.
They didn’t try to overthrow the established government and take over the government’s powers, which is the very definition of insurrection. There were no weapons confiscated that day nor was anyone charged with weapons-related offenses.
Unlike after Trump’s inauguration in January 2017, there were no buildings or autos set ablaze and the only windows broken appeared to have been smashed to provide photo ops more than to gain access to the building.
Three Trump supporters died from heart attacks or stroke. If Officer Sicknick also died of a stroke, that’s four who died not due to injury but to medical issues. Ashley Babbitt was the only person who “was killed” and she was murdered by a Capitol Policeman who is being shielded from any blame by the Capitol Police who declared after an extremely short “internal investigation” that they had investigated their own and found no wrong-doing, what a surprise.
So, there was no “armed insurrection.” What did take place appeared to be an unruly stage-managed protest more than a riot. The only deadly force was wielded by the Capitol Police which is under the control of the Speaker of the House.
