“Leave Democrats to their own devices, and they will screw themselves politically, just when they are at the height of power”
The only question is how much damage they will do along the way, and how we can protect ourselves.
I think it’s worth reposting this excerpt from my post on April 29, 2009, reacting the news that PA Senator Arlen Specter had left the Republican Party and become a Democrat, securing a filibuster proof Senate majority for Democrats, Relax, The Dems Will Screw Up:
It would be very easy to fall into a depression over Arlen Specter switching political parties, giving Democrats a likely filibuster-proof Senate majority. The result will be that Obama will be able to push through much of his agenda without meaningful debate….
What history shows us is that a liberal, blame-America-first Democratic President, urged on by a liberal, blame-America-first Democratic Congress, is a prescription for political self-destruction. Leave Democrats to their own devices, and they will screw themselves politically, just when they are at the height of power.
A year and a half later Democrats got blown out in the midterms because they went too far with Obamacare.
Now, Democrats are flush with victory, ready to purge their opponents, searching the landscape for survivors to finish off.
They will go too far. They already have.
The only question is how much damage they will do along the way, and how we can protect ourselves.

Hah! Democrats are not viable. Karmic justice.
I had not thought about Arlen Specter in a very long time. He was really arrogant, even by Beltway standards.
An earlier younger Spector was very impressive.
Remember he even dared to ask Anita Hill questions (and was savaged as a result).
He was a 25 year old assistant on the Warren Commission and he drove Earl Warren crazy by trying to have them actually investigate the assassination–rather than simply follow the predetermined story.
He never got the credit he deserved and maybe that’s why he went rogue.
Yeah, they got ‘blown out’ in the midterms.
And guess what.
Obamacare is still there.
So who actually got screwed?
Are we still stupid enough to be ‘republicans’?
Exactly.
And the USSC just handed them the Presidential election, covering their eyes, ears and mouths on “procedural grounds.” It’s really not going to matter in future–they control the mechanisms of elections now, so it doesn’t matter what the screw up. There will always be 100,000 mail in votes to secure victories in any contested State, county or municipality.
The Democrats are now talking about having an Impeachment Trial after the President leaves office and is an ordinary citizen.
Does the Congress have authority to try citizens? Can they try you and me?
So since you state ‘it really doesn’t matter’ due to what you seemingly perceive as an unchanging future is certain d/progressive electoral victories what are your plans?
Are you moving to Australia? Another Country?
Are you going to sit on your hands and not vote in future elections?
My advice is to process your grief/anger/disappointment/fear and move on. Get ready for the next electoral battle.
In a ‘fight’ your opponent is allowed to punch as well. We took a series of low blows and the ref didn’t react. That happens. Get up off the mat and get ready for the next round.
We may not win that round even if we fight but if folks decide not to fight ‘no mas’ then we always lose.
Elections are the primary field right now: societal rules are the big battlefield right now.
And to effectively engage the wokites on ot, we need to consistently demand that the wokists abide by the rules they are trying to impose on everyone else.
If a wokists doesn’t have the right proportion of minorities and disadvantaged people in their staff, loosely demand their Censure and introduce bills to that effect.
Publicly call on the wokists to disavow their support for the BLM riots this summer, and if they don’t push prosecutions of the violent felons identified, call for their impeachment according to their own standards.
They say that Impeaching Trump is the most pressing action of the day? Block all legislation until they finish their show trial.
Pelvis uses dozens of gendered words in a speach right after calling for those words to be banned? Introduce articles of removal from post and Censure for every single one.
Demand that they follow every single one of their social rules to the logical absurdity and keep doing it until they back down and behave like decent civilized human beings again.
The Dems were ‘blown out’ in the past. And when it happened the GOP did nothing.
The Dems don’t care about getting blown out occasionally as long as they get complete control for a couple of years every 8 years or so. Because when they have complete control they do things that are very hard to undo. And they know the GOP will do nothing about it.
Eventually the Dems won’t get blown out anymore. Because they will eventually rig the election process so they can never lose. They’ve already done this in many states. They just successfully rigged an election for POTUS. And they got away with it.
Now they are emboldened. Believing, with good reason, the courts will likely do nothing about future election rigging and fraud.
And therein lies the rub. How many times must we be used by the phony RINO’s such as Mitt, Lindsay, McCain, et al only to have our demands ignored once they secure our votes,(see The Tea Party of 2008). I don’t have any good answers. Republicans appear to be headed towards being the latter day version of the Whigs. The party is fractured, I believe, beyond repair. You have the 75 million American citizens who voted for Trump and then you have these despicable, spineless, gutless, Republicans who showed themselves to be summer soldiers and sunshine patriots whom, in a crisis, shrunk from service to their country while cloaking themselves in faux self righteousness. Look at the Never Trumpers, the Lincoln Project frauds, and the latest batch of fake Republican Patriots that voted for this sham of an impeachment and tell me where does it leave us?
And back then while Obama had a fawning MSM, he didn’t have absolute control over the internet, the FEd, the banks and the largest corps in the world.
So there is a lot more chance that they will destroy things so badly that we can never recover.
The question is what party will replace them — the Republicans, or the Swamp?
There’s a difference?
There is a broad spectrum of beliefs among legislators of both parties, leadership on both sides are usually rather scrummy.
Justice — I have nominated you for the funniest post of today. I think you have a good chance to win.
I’ve studied Democrats for decades, and I’ve come to the conclusion that they are mainly sheep in sheep’s clothing. They are terrified of their leadership.
The cream may rise to the top……
but the scum merely floats to the surface…..
Is there supposed to be a difference?
“Other” the Swampies. Highlight the divide between them and the base.
The Republican base voter is not pro-Swamp.
But it doesn’t matter, because all the GOP candidates offered to them are.
Many differences.
No more Republican anything.
We have to start there.
No intellectual basis for your statement. Typical of lefties.
OK, you’ve got it in California. Now let’s see you shine. When you turn that state any color but navy, then we’ll have a conversation.
True. But then unless the Republicans win solid majorities in the House and the Senate and the Presidency, they won’t be able to repeal any law made by the Democrats in the next two years.
Unlike Republicans Democrats actually use the political power they win – whether by honest or dishonest means.
Tell me, is the surprise legislation (we have to pass it to know what is in it, wasn’t it?) repealed and replaced? No? Seem like GOPe is not interested in actually delivering if entrusted with political power.
Funny that republicans sent over 50 bills to repeal obastardcare as long as they had a communist president that would veto it. Once they had a guy that would sign it, that didn’t happen again.
And, there you go: noticing things!
Trump openly opposed a repeal, so he probably wouldn’t have signed one if it had reached him.
That’s because they have nothing to replace it with. What’s the republican policy?
Wrong. The Republicans had three policy goals which were not even considered when the Obamacare cluster was rammed through Congress. These would have gone a long way to fix what was wrong with the healthcare delivery in this country.
1)No worries about preexisting conditions. Pay for the care of seriously ill, actuarially uninsurable, patients from the general fund.
2)Insurance competition across state lines.
3)Tort reform.
Blame the democrat congress then. Blame the lame GOP now for not explaining to the populace what can be done to unwind this mess.
Republicans had “policy goals”, but they didn’t have LEGISLATION – probably because they wouldn’t have been able to get the libertarians to agree.
ObamaCare should have been replaced with everybody responsible for their own insurance. Instead, we went from employer insurance to government insurance.
Even so, if the government insists on sticking its nose into everybody’s business, it should be limited to paying the private insurance premiums.
We know though, or at least we should know, that the government won’t pay for anything without its grubby little fingers all over our faces.
McCain presented the Republican alternative in 2008.
Divorce health insurance from employment, by making individual insurance policies tax deductible. I’d go further and make employer-provided insurance not deductible.
Allow insurance to be sold across state lines.
Malpractice reform to bring down costs to doctors and therefore the cost of treatment, and thus ultimately the cost of insurance.
Yeah that’s the sad but true solution.
Politically not impossible but unlikely. Maybe with a broader reform of healthcare spending in which we replace current payouts through Medicade/Obamacare with individual HSA, health savings accounts. Coupled with a true limit on tax deduction for employers and perhaps allow 1st dollar deduction for individuals.
Many vested interests to fight on that front.
You finally got the memo. Thank God.
Too many of us are still scratching their heads
Another question is what can we do to damage them, especially targeting the worst players. They feel entitled to cancel other people, using every legal trick available is reasonable. When the dust settles, ringleaders of this should end up on street corners begging for food.
I mentioned Research in Motion, making them sorry was a five year project.
Dem and Rep aren’t opposing teams. Nobody got blown out because the globalist uniparty retained power by switching their label.
Some of the Repubs aren’t globalist uniparty. That doesn’t mean Repubs are the good guys.
You mean like the Globetrotters and the Generals?
Bingo.
In 8 years, the Obama administration turned the Patriot Act into a mass surveillance state. As a result, the top brass of the CIA, FBI and DOJ are accountable to no one, not even congress. Another 4 to 8 years further down this road will most likely be irreversible. I don’t want to think of what comes next.
It looked irreversible until Trump came along. He did put a few dents in it.
Really? Tell me what I missed
Now the American people know there is a deep state that wants to rule them.
When the Dems get to mail out ballots to every registered voter, the ENTIRE calculus is changed. There won’t be a 2010 revolt. There can’t be a turn-out advantage to a Tea Party. nope. It’s over.
Give the Democrats a year and we’ll have internet voting and 16 year olds voting in 10 or 15 states. They aren’t gonna lose again.
Never quit trying.
I fully expect the Dems to attack the first and second amendments, and possibly to get their bills in both the House and Senate. Biden will sign anything they pass, as long as it’s approved by his handlers in China, who are hiding dirt on him.
They have introduced bills to ban “hate speech,” with a malleable definition that they can construe to outlaw anything they don’t like. Included among those bills are two bills that were passed to please their Chinese donors: HR 908, which enforces the Chinese government’s terminology for the Wuhan virus; and Kamala Harris introduced a Senate bill also enforcing the Chinese terminology.
The Dems have also introduced HR 5717, which will terminate all private ownership of firearms without government approval and licensing.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5717
Now that they have the majorities and the Chinese Puppet President, all of these bills are likely to be passed and become law unless the Supreme Court will act to re-establish our Constitutional freedoms.
Hiding Dirt? The Democrats haven’t cared about dirt for quite some time now. As long as they control the people who issue indictments, they have nothing to worry about.
The reaction to their firearms registration push is going to make Prohibition look like a Sunday School picnic.
Our Constitution, as great a document as it is, is only words on 300 year old paper, unless it’s also written on our hearts.
For too many in America today, they have words from starkly different documents written on theirs.
Are we ready to dust off the old Declaration of Independence yet?
I am.
In the case of the firearms bill, notice that it’s being sponsored by Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) of the famous “Guam might capsize” comment. Johnson, being a long time race baiter, must surely rank in the annals of Congress as among the top ten biggest dumb a**es ever elected to the House. Shucks, I reckon the IQ level among Johnson voters in his district is 20 points below the norm.
My guess: Johnson’s bill isn’t going anywhere due to the precarious Democrat majorities in the House and Senate. Any Democrats representing heavily Red areas, particularly in the Midwest, South, and West, who vote for this bill would be committing political suicide. Joe Manchin, for example, in the Senate would certainly vote against the bill, given that West Virginia went 70-30 for Trump.
Johnson might be the world’s biggest dumbass, but he still has the power to inflict his ignorance upon us
Sorry…dead wrong. On CNN with Tapper (of Handgun Control), Manchin stated people should not have their hands on certain firearms although he said he wasn’t taking guns away. Double Speak. Biden backs Class 3 for semi-autos and magazines. $200 “tax” per firearm and each separate magazine. Anytime and anywhere day or night the Feds can knock on your door and demand “papers”! That’s just for starters. The goal is functionally complete riddance of guns….this starts the ball rolling. Having secured the ballot and jury box..this is that last part needed to fall. It is a done deal. They have elections in the bag.
I forgot one important point… of many. Holding a license to own a firearm and one a license to possess ammunition will become public knowledge either directly or , as in the past, “mistakenly” published. Neighbors who don’t like firearms or are fearful of anyone having them can use the system for duress. Might as well put out a sign “Firearms Stored Here… Hate Me, Abuse Me or Rob Me”.
They’re going to do a ton of damage, and it will start the afternoon of January 20. It’s guaranteed Biden’s people are busily writing Executive Orders ready to be signed that day.
Think about all the good that was done by Betsy DeVos; a bunch of it will get wiped out in short order. Then add cabinet departments like Energy, Labor, Interior, etc. Just on the Executive Order/regulatory level it’s going to be bad.
We’re bound to have at least one SCOTUS vacancy in the next two years. Thomas is probably kicking himself for not retiring so Trump could pick his replacement.
If all the Democrats in the Senate, along with King and Sanders, are in attendance and go along, they will have the votes to get rid of the legislative filibuster. They will also have the votes to push through a radical budget and a tax increase via reconciliation. The Senate Democrat leadership is very good at keeping its members in line on important votes, so while people like Joe Manchin are now kingmakers, they also will have their lives made miserable if they step out of line too often.
It seems to me that DeVos stabbed Trump in the back. Trump gave her the opportunity for her life.
He gave her an opportunity and to her credit, she did a great deal with it in a terribly hostile arena for a long time. Sadly much of what she accomplished will be undone and forgotten. By simply not standing up for Trump – all she had to do was say at the time she didn’t have enough facts to judge – never mind castigating him, she will be remembered only for having abandoned him. It’s too bad.
She wad weak tea, anyway. She finally showed her true colors.
Betsy Devo undid any good she did by becoming a traitor of the first order
The Dems are already ramping up their scorched earth strategies for the midterms. The 2022 elections will have the highest midterm turnout on record.
I expect 400 million plus votes to be cast.
Sorry, Prof. I sincerely hope you’re right, but respectfully, I don’t think you are. The damage they inflict will be just about irreversible. The best we can do is find a way to make it irrelevant.
History says they pull a Twitter, and kill themselves. But it will not be pretty.
If Trump starts his own party, how many Democrats will migrate, afraid of the progressive blood lust?
If they throw open the border, it’s over.
Even still – how many lives will be destroyed by their kangaroo courts in the next 4 years?
And their thugs:
https://bigleaguepolitics.com/leftist-thug-targets-roger-stones-handicapped-wife-for-vicious-attack-in-own-neighborhood/
Animals.
Acting indignant is not the solution. concealed carry, whether it be pepper spray or a 1911 is
There in lies the problem – we always wonder how much damage the Democrats can do before they inevitably lose power.
We never wonder how much ‘damage’ Republicans can do when they’re in power. It’s assumed they will do nothing but stem the tide for a couple years.
The question then becomes: how much damage do WE do by being ANY part of the scum of the GOP?
The Generals might get some baskets, but only a fool thinks they will be allowed to win.
The difference this time is that they’ve figured out how to steal elections and furthermore they know there are no consequences for doing so.
I’m not so sure.
This website has cited polls that show the newest crop of college students like socialism.
If this continues to trend, who will vote conservative?
Can we expect that many converts?
Not trying to be a minority voice.
I hope I’m wrong
“A year and a half later Democrats got blown out in the midterms because they went too far with Obamacare.”
The Democrats have vote fraud down to a science. By 2022, they will have all 50 states and 435 congressional districts locked down, protected by the Supreme Court. Electoral politics is not going to do it. I grant the Left will over-reach. But the remedy will not be voting.
Subotai Bahadur
Long-time red states suddenly flipping blue would be so unbelievable that no amount of media collusion, Big Tech censorship, or courtroom enablement would be able to cover up the fraud.
There’s a point where there’s so much smoke that one can no longer reasonably doubt the existence of a fire.
On the contrary, for almost ten years they’ve been pushing the line that Texas turning Democrat is inevitable, and the only question is when. It’s simple demographics, they say. Hence the massive effort and tons of money (as well as fraud) they shoved into Abortion Barbie, and then into Beto. This last election showed them that demographics ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. But they haven’t given up. And Ossoff’s win in Georgia has given them encouragement that with enough money (and enough fraud) they can do it. So if it eventually does happen, nobody is going to smell a rat.
I think the 2020 election shook them to their core. Trump not only got (at least) ten million more votes than he did in ’16, but he made impressive and to them horrifying gains with both blacks and Hispanics . . . and all across the country. Republicans also picked up House seats in blue districts because Hispanics voted red. Their whole coalition and demographics as Destiny fantasy blew up in their faces.
That has as much to do with the impeachment charade and their using the Capitol riot as their Reichstag fire excuse to suppress dissent. If they thought they were losing Hispanics before, this will just be far too familiar and repugnant for them.
Also, Brandon Straka was making a huge and very real difference, that’s why he was deplatformed so quickly–people really were walking away from Democrats in significant numbers. They’re going to be running away soon, probably already are.
Listen to yourself. Someone who two weeks ago couldn’t bring himself to fight blatant fraud calling everyone who wanted to do so a “nut,” never endlingly screaming about the rules and laws and judges and show me the evidence. You’ve just had an opportunity to fight your way but you weren’t clever enough to prevail and you couldn’t bring yourself to do it some other way, let someone else work to display the evidence. Alternatives to Twitter and FB will surely emerge, but so what? If you won’t fight when the fight is right in front of you, you’re in the way. You just had the best opportunity to fight you’ll probably have in your lifetime and lost to Eric Holder, George Soros, the Swamp, and God help us, the sorry likes of Morning Joe, Jake Tapper, Brian Stelter (ugh), and all the other dupes right up to the big front man himself, the puppet in the Oval Office, Joe Biden. Oh, the country will survive, it’ll still be on the map in 2022 and 2024, like Europe was in 1946 and, God willing, it won’t look the same as Europe in 1946. But to avoid that you’re going to have to get the hell out of the way and let the “nuts” take over the fight. If we’re to win, there’s no other way. (And please, spare us, this has nothing to do with rioting mobs in funny hats rampaging through the Capitol while staying between the velvet ropes. Nothing. You’ve been had. Again. Nancy Pelosi had already removed all the statues she didn’t like.)
People screaming about Dominion are nuts. There is nothing there. And the screaming just distracts attention from the actual fraud.
The fact is that there is very little direct evidence of the fraud, and that little is impossible to find without months of painstaking research which nobody has even begun. All the people claiming to have found it are lunatics, charlatans, or both.
The evidence we now have of the fraud is convincing, but it’s all indirect, which is not good enough for court action. We know it happened, but knowing and proving are two different things.
Why do you think they care about covering up the fraud? The fraud was pretty darn obvious this time around, but with the courts rejecting all challenges without doing any investigation and the media saying that summary judgements prove election fraud allegations are baseless it doesn’t matter how obvious the fraud is. Indeed, from a certain perspective the more in your face the fraud is the better. It demoralizes opposition and gives the Democrats deep satisfaction knowing you can’t do anything about it.
They don’t want to cover it up. They want you to know. It’s part of the psy-ops to make you feel frustrated and humiliated. If this reduces you to the submission of a slave, or incites you to violence — either way, they win.
Here is some light reading on the subject of eletiion fraud in 2020:
https://img1.wsimg.com/blobby/go/be36dc6d-0df4-4c20-addf-fca72be46150/The%20Navarro%20Report%20Volume%20III%20Final%201.13.21-0001.pdf
Note the chart in the report.
It is almost like they forgot 1994.
I have to vote for these clowns so thought about Arlen Specter straight away when I think of Pat Toomey.
Democrats will over reach of course, that’s what they do, but one over reach will be to make it they will never lose power again. And that may not be survivable.
Yes, it’s the old law of the pendulum: governing is tiresome and sooner or later the audience gets bored by the show. But it won’t work when the lections are rigged, and I am afraid your election are rigged for good. No, not forever, but for a very long time. Think of Sweden, where the Socialists ruled uninterrupted from 1932 through 1976, and then agiain for most of the time since. And they didn’t have to rig the elections: it is enough to control everything elese:buoreaucracy, law enforcement, military, unions, all the media, schools, municipalities… does it ring a bell?
Many in your American left think of swedish social-democrats like a benevolent form of friendly socialism. Well, a bening dictatorship that included a foolish taxation, the strict control of public discourse, eugenetic abortions, hardcore feminism, even the forced sterilization of the “socially unfit” well into the seventies, and the methastatization of that rotten ideology into the “opposition” parties, so when they momentarily lost the grip nothing was reversed, and the State leading you “from the cradle to the coffin”. Close to the nazi, but always with a smile.
44 years: how many of you will still be around in 2065?
So many typos, sorry!
The moment of truth to prepare for is when the cities can’t feed themselves. While we have a lot of wealth to burn through before that happens, eventually it will be burnt up by the Ds.
For the Rs, the only immediate constitutional path forward is election integrity laws at the state level. Here in Georgia, if we don’t enact and enforce laws that prevent fraudulent mail-in signature verification, or clean up the voter rolls for people who have moved, or illegally claim residence, or reject any and all ballots counted while observers from both parties aren’t there for each individual ballot, then there is no political remedy.
The biggest obstacle in our way is the #MediaIndustrialComplex, which competes in the #AttentionEconomy by maximizing fear and hatred within their audience. When their machinations seem illogical and hypocritical and counterproductive, understand that this is because their success in the #AttentionEconomy isn’t based on whether or not they have morals, or even political goals – it’s simply the maximization of fear and hatred.
Unfortunately, minimizing fear and hatred, reducing resentment, and increasing gratitude, is something that isn’t highly scalable – it happens one family, one friend, one community at a time. It is the challenge of changing culture, and while there are many who aren’t happy with where they are, I don’t think they understand that the change has to start with them.
“The biggest obstacle in our way is the #MediaIndustrialComplex…”
Quite true. It always has been.
Excellent post, thanks.
There is one big difference between then and now. The Left has the means and the experience stealing elections. It’s a good bet that an outbreak of “Covid-22” will guarantee unsecured mail in voting again. All those virtual Beijing Biden voters are ready to be mobilized to keep the Left in firm control.
Justice for Ashli Babbitt!
It doesn’t matter. They’ve disabled the ballot box. There is no more electoral accountability. Having removed the final form of redress (with all others now hopelessly corrupted), they’ve found the elixir for permanent power.
Am I alone in my desires to [cause grievous harm] to wipe that smarmy smirk off the face of Charles Shumer?
OK, the Dems got blown out in the mid-term elections.
Now tell me which of the policies they enacted between 2009 and 2011 were retracted?
Their march continues. We only seem to be able to slow it, but can never stop it – much less push it into retreat. All we seem to do is change the speed for driving off the cliff.
A year and a half later Democrats got blown out in the midterms because they went too far with Obamacare.
Don’t leave the Tea Party in the memory hole, they had quite a lot to do with that blowout.
So you lose an election therefore you quit? Sounds a bit like a 6 year old’s behavior.
I agree that the Democrats will likely overreach, but as always, in their overreaching they will still enact t least one piece of legislation that will have terrible and ng-term consequences. Under Obama it was the ACA, and though not truly legislation, DACA. This time it might be the “Equality” Act, that will cast trans ideology in stone.
On the other hand, when the GOP gains power following a productive Democrat screw-up, they screw up too, but with ZERO production, either in terms of conservative legislation or the rollback of what the Dems enacted during their screwed-up term in power.
When we allow government ‘officials’ to run our elections, we shouldn’t be surprised when the government wins our elections.
All those who seek a convention of the states to ‘fix’ out perfectly fine constitution ought to keep in mind how our state governments ran the 2020 elections.
You have too much faith in the Democrats. They stole at least 3 states through blatant voter fraud. They just gave themselves the power to dig in even deeper to act with impunity in whatever way they want. We are so screwed.
We’re not about to enter another Obama administration, retreads in the cabinet notwithstanding. We already know that a Biden* administration will not feature actual decision-making by Joe Biden, because he is incapable of any. Will it even feature decision-making by Kamala Harris?
It looks as though we are now under the rule of a triumvirate (Dorsey-Zuckerberg-Pichai, occasional contributions from Cook and Bezos). Will they allow us any recourse at the ballot box in 2 years?
When you look at the list of senators up in 2022, I don’t see some red wave in the senate unless tha country craters and even that might not be enough. Here is the list of dem senators up in 2022.
Bennet- Co
Blumenthal-Ct
Cortez-Mastro-Nv
Duckworth-Il
Harris Replacement-Ca
Hassan-NH
Kelly-Az
Leahy-Vt
Murray-Wa
Schatz-Hi
Schumer-NY
Van Hollen-Md
Warnock-Ga
Wyden-Or
I don’t see some red wave based on that group.
The repubs have many more vulnerable seats in 2022, here are a few
Burr-NC
Johnson-Wi
Toomey-Pa- filling a seat for a retiring Toomey
History has shown that the house will flip especially after redistricting
Burr is also supposed to be retiring in 2022.
Good riddance.
Buck,
No question it is a hill to climb, a steep one.
IMO, NH is winnable if Gov Sununu runs though he ain’t exactly MAGA.
AZ with Kelly showing his true colors via voting record, he was politically a blank slate and profited off anti Trump swing in 2020.
GA the same for Warnock. Lots of out of state $ for a win in a runoff with anti Trump fever still high along with r/MAGA voters who stayed home for a multitude of reasons.
CA is just inside the real of possible. Anti Newsome might translate to anti d? Maybe. Not to mention CA has a jungle primary and the d might split too many votes.
VT Leahey and CT Blumenthal are getting up in years. Hard to pacify AoC wing and reassure Wall Street donors simultaneously. Tight window.
Main thing is to field the most electable candidates that are not too conservative to win a general election. Mississippi is not Massachusetts etc. The composition of the electorate differs. By all means lets run the most conservative person who can win not come up short because their views don’t fit the electorate.
Tough slate in 2022, not impossible. We will catch a few breaks, goodness knows we are due some.
This time around the Dems have learned a lot.
We are going to add millions of newly-minted citizen voters from Mexico and Central America. They come from dysfunctional countries and have no experience of anything else. No matter how bad the Dems programs are for us, picking the pockets of middle class Americans to vote themselves money from the public treasury is going to look like heaven on earth to these new voters.
And if the Dems can pack the SC they will be in complete control for a very long time.
Come Inauguration Day, the fight for justice will be done. Once Biden & Co are inaugurated, no court in the land will reverse the election results and order Biden removed and Trump installed. Two Democrat senators were elected in Georgia, in the state with the most flagrant election fraud in the country. That election was overseen by the same people who oversaw the Presidential election. How do we know that election was honest? How many US Marshals, or other federal officials, monitored THAT election?
But, remember, the Democrat Party, is not a autonomous entity. It is the main political arm of the Progressive Establishment. Think of it Sinn Fein to the Irish Republican Army. Now that the Establishment has proven that it can control election results, through outright fraud, it no longer needs the votes of the people. It can manufacture them at will and maintain political control of the country.
So, now it moves on to the next steps, in cementing it’s control. One of those is to control speech. This is being accomplished two ways. One is by control of the national communication platforms. This includes the legacy media, social media and it will spread to individual ISPs, in the future. The second method is radical social distancing restrictions, presently using the COVID scare as justification. Look for financial restrictions to be applied to dissidents [as defined by the Establishment]. Lawfare will increase, with dissidents being targeted by government enforcement agencies. There will be a big push to restrict ownership and possession of weapons, especially firearms. hen we have the economic assaults. First, increased taxes to pay for the “costs” of the COVID restrictions. The abandonment of Trump imposed foreign trade tariffs and sanctions. Manufacturing will again be outsourced. The working class will once again be put in the position of not making enough money to do other than live hand to mouth.
With the ballot box removed from the hands of the people, how will they counter all of that? Well, the Establishment has a pretty food idea. That is why there is an entire division [20,000 troops] of National Guard troops on active duty in DC for the inauguration. We knew there would be street violence in DC in 2017 and no troops were activated. No one condemned the speakers who spoke of violent action against the new President. Almost all of the violent, destructive protestors were either ignored or had charges dropped, if they were arrested. The Summer of Burning Love saw no National Guard units in DC until well into the riots and then they were activated by Trump to protect government buildings. And, then only a regiment [1500-2000 troops] were activated. DC has the highest number of LEOs in the country, so why the exorbitant number of armed national guard troops?
The Dems may self destruct, but they will take the rest of us with them.
Yes they will self destruct and eat themselves, they always do. But depending on them to do that is just blind stupidity itself. You can’t depend on how they will do it, or when, but you CAN depend on them doing a ton of lasting damage along the way. We still have Obamacare. Contrary to popular opinions, they aren’t stupid and they do learn from mistakes, their just a conglomeration of smaller factions that are kept perpetually at odds with everyone else so they can claim a shared victimhood as a “unifying force”. That friction does eventually cause problems for themselves.
The dems have more control of the media and the message these days. Even the worst will be painted as acceptable or blamed on the previous administration.
The cancel culture is much more impactful than ever.
The only thing that could play out is the age of those at the top of the democratic party, especially the house. Pelosi, Hoyer, Clyburn are all around the age 80 mark. How long can they stay at the top of the food chain and who is ready to step up once they are out of power. Will there be an internal revolt if the agenda isn’t passed and enacted quick enough.
While it may be difficult to pass a new program or spending, it is nearly impossible to end it.
Here is why this article is 100%, Grade A, pure, unadulterated crap.
did the 40’s hurt them?
did the 50’s hurt them?
blah blah…..
did the 2020’s hurt them?
NO! of course is the answer, the left never takes its foot off the accelrator, and only ingnorat conservaites believe the nonsense of this article.
Grow up LI and see reality for what it is. They can add Puerto Rico at will, most likely not DC but PR is a done deal and in 2 months 30 million illeagls will become citizens before the next presidential election and the fate of the republcan party is already sealed.
It’s over for the republican party and it is the result of the relentless pursuit of up is down and down is up.
McConnell kiss my ass you are toast by your own devices. but what the hell you got your pension, as did your worthless wife.
I understand where Prof J. is coming from, but, bottom line is, the vile Dhimmi-crats can and will still cause plenty of damage. Fiscal profligacy; onerous tax increases; “Green New Deal” lunacy; hostility to private sector entrepreneurialism; hostility to charter schools; union expansion; open borders and non-existent immigration controls; kowtowing to Iran, China and the rest of the global rogues’ gallery; jihad-enabling/dhimmitude; perpetuation of Jew-hate and Israel vilification; perpetuation of racial tribal Balkanization; hundred of billions of dollars of taxpayer funding awarded to select racial groups; the perpetuation of contrived “victim” narratives and a culture of perpetual grievance; etc., etc.
Man — I forgot to add to the vile Dhimmi-crats’ parade of horrors/plagues: a private health insurance-destroying “public option.” Wait for it.
I’m pretty sure that’s what the Good Germans said about Hitler. “Leave him alone and he will destroy himself.”
