“Michael from Rhode Island” Starring At DNC as “Longstanding Republican” Voting Biden, Is A Democrat
Talk Show Host John DePetro: In “4 out of 5 primaries he has voted as a Democrat …. he is a registered Democrat”
Other than some of the key speeches, I skipped most of the live coverage of the Democrat National Convention. When I tried to watch, it was unbearable, like watching a never-ending public service announcement from the Ad Council.
So I missed the live coverage of “Michael from Rhode Island” presented by the DNC as a “longstanding Republican for a long time” who is voting for Biden.
Apparently Michael was featured throughout the convention:
I swear, Michael from Rhode Island has had more time than either Obama!

Rhode Island is a small state. People know people. And legendary Rhode Island talk show host John DePetro knows people. And he sniffed out that “Michael from Rhode Island” wasn’t what he seemed.
DePetro reported at his website, Video : Fraud DNC: Michael from Rhode Island is a registered Democrat not Republican:
All week the DNC has run a video of people supporting Joe Biden. One is identified as ” Michael from Rhode Island a long-standing Republican” now voting for Biden. Who is this long-standing Republican? He is town of Foster electrical inspector Michael Paolucci. His voting record speaks for itself: 4 out of 5 primaries he has voted as a Democrat. No wonder he appears each night during the DNC not using his last name since he is a registered Democrat.
DePetro provided images of “Michael’s” voter registrations and records.
Other local reporters are now jumping on DePetro’s scoop, and confirming that Michael is not the “longstanding Republican” presented at the DNC, unless by “longstanding Republican” you mean someone who has mostly been and voted Democrat in recent years.
Meet Michael from Rhode Island, the man behind the DNC video.
Michael Paolucci described himself as a longstanding Republican but state records show he voted as a Democrat in years past.
Here's how he squares the two⤵️

The Providence Journal further reports, ‘Longstanding Republican’ Michael from Rhode Island says he’s switched back and forth between parties:
His video made it on air, where he was identified solely as long-standing Republican “Michael from Rhode Island.” Hers did not.
And his moment of fame earned him a ding from radio talk-show host and Republican cheerleader John DePetro, who ran a piece on his website titled “Fraud…Michael from Rhode Island is a registered Democrat not Republican.” …
Paolucci confirmed he is currently registered as a Democrat — and has been on and off.
More specifically: He has been registered as a Democrat since May 5, 2020. He was unaffiliated until changing to Democrat. Previous to that, his party history was Republican (until June 22, 2018), Unaffiliated (until April 26, 2016), Republican (until December 23, 2014), Democrat (until October 6, 2014) and previously, unaffiliated, according to the secretary of state’s office..
Paolucci said his votes, as a Democrat, in four of the last five primary elections in Rhode Island reflect the realities in a Democrat-dominated state even though he has considered himself a Republican since the Reagan-era.
Maybe the DNC should have presented Michael as “mostly Democrat voter Michael from Rhode Island” will be voting Biden — but that would not have had much impact.

Could somebody please find out what the sign language translator in the video is actually translating? Perhaps she’s just saying:”F&$% Trump!!! F§&$ Pence!!! F&$%’em all!!!”???

How much did the DNC pay him?
That’s what the signed his probably upset about.

This guy probably is a Democrat, because long experience shows that almost every “longstanding Republican” who comes out against a Republican president turns out to be a Democrat, but the fact that he’s registered as a D and votes in D primaries doesn’t prove it. If you live in a place that’s completely dominated by Dems, and you want a say in elections, you have to register as a D and vote in their primary, because that is the real election. Until this year I was a holdout, refusing to register as a D even though I knew this meant my votes were usually a waste of time. But this year there was a DINO running for Congress so I did the sensible thing and changed my registration, and voted in their primary. Unfortunately the comsymp incumbent wiped the floor with her competition, so in November I’ll be voting for whichever chump has volunteered to run against her.
I agree with Lucifer…If , as you put it, “you are registered as a D and vote in D primaries”, in what sense of the word are you a “longstanding Republican for a long time” as Michael was presented by the Dems?
I vote almost straight republic ticket, and have done so since my first election in 1976. However, Dallas county Texas turned democrat in the early 2000’s. I therefore vote in the democrat primary (unless there is a contested republican race that is important). The purpose of voting in the Democrat primary is to reduce the chance of getting a really bad county official elected.
One can be a longstanding Republican by espousing Republican ideas, and by voting Republican in general elections. And one can do so while being registered as a Democrat for the sole purpose of being allowed to vote in the only elections that matter, which are the Democrat primaries.
Personally I don’t usually care to vote in D primaries because the choice is only between a bad Democrat and a worse one; but that means I have no influence at all on which D will represent me. A lot of people would rather have some say than none, so they register D.
After decades of refusing, I’ve finally done so too, since this time, at least in one race, there was someone I could actually vote for; I haven’t decided whether to switch back.
Then I would say he’s no longer a Republican. He’s a democrat and shouldn’t be claiming he was anything else.
If this were the first time he voted for a D, then I’d say he still has the right to call himself a R. But I just don’t believe him.

“longstanding Republican from Rhode Island” was the first clue he was a fraud.
A democrat lying, color me surprised.
I thought he would be lying from the very git go. I kinda had the impression, judging by R.I.’s politics in general, that Professor Jacobson is the only Republican in the state. 😉
Quite possibly true, since I left the state in 1999. (Although at the time I was voting Libertarian when possible, and once voted for the Cool Moose Party for governor because there was no other viable candidate. Fact is, I have NEVER voted for a Democrat. BTW, I met Buddy Cianci twice while living and working in Providence!)
I have voted for a Democrat once. Bill Thompson for mayor of NYC in 2009, running against Bloomberg’s third term. For a Dem, Thompson is not absolutely awful; and as far as I’m concerned Bloomberg has always been a Dem. If I must have a Dem mayor I’d rather he had a D after his name.
There are at least two of us. 🙂
In the spirit of Michael Paolucci: I – a longstanding member of the black female community – am switching to become a white male because of Kamala Harris.
Why state the matter truthfully, and sound natural as a toss-up voter, when you can just flat out lie? (Was yours a paid testimonial?)
Sure, I get it. That’s what makes a Democrat a Democrat! Lie without a second thought about it. You’re one of the guys, Mike!
How do you feel about yourself now, Mike? (You look like the kind of guy that might say, but not really mean, “Ahh, I don’t give a sh*t.”)
It’s a shame, Mike, a real shame. I really don’t think you’re proud of what you did, are you?
You guys have buried the lede. The tell here is that there is a real shortage of Republicans “of long standing” and willing to go on to say they backed Biden, so the Dems have to get Dem voters to lie to fill the void.
Unfortunately, there isn’t.
Yeah, those people aren’t “Republicans of long standing” either. They’ve been exposed right here at LI as genuine Democrats, which didn’t surprise me at all, because this is not my first rodeo. There is a long, long history of the Dems in the press touting “longstanding Reps” who support them this one time, and they’re always exposed as frauds, so why would I believe that this time they’re telling the truth? It’s possible, of course — the real moral of the Boy Who Cried Wolf is that even habitual liars sometimes tell the truth — but I’m not buying it.
I wonder if the Town of Foster has a moral turpitude clause?
Or maybe the punishment is that he just doesn’t get out of school with the rest of Foster/Gloucester every time there’s a dusting of snow anywhere in the state.
“Brush your teeth and say your prayers, kids!”

“Other than some of the key speeches,…”
Did you catch Biden’s timeless speech where he coined countless pearls of wisdom? Like “love defeats hate”, light defeats darkness”…? Geez, why didn’t anyone else think of that? Now I’m psyched!
He also guaranteed he would cure the Wuhan virus, end poverty, reverse climate change, save the economy, unite the country, mandate masks nationally, and more. I wish he had included the abolition of that insidious tool of white supremacy: mathematics… must have forgot.
But he was smokin’! (Cell phone caught fire I hear).
MAGA!!!
He might want to keep that news private as the old saying goes. Wise up Micheal and vote for Trump.
Using a political ploy nearly as old as mankind’s oldest profession.
In my area here, we have a retired real estate agent, claiming to be a Republican, but loudly proclaiming he’s voting for the Democrat this year. He did it in 2000 and 2004 against George W B, and again in 2008 and 2012 against John McCain and Mitt Romney,
He’s a regular feature of the letters to the editor section, during presidential election season.
Yes, that’s how it always is. The next time they produce a genuine Republican who’s supporting the Democrat will be the first time.
I lived in RI until 2009.
One the one hand, this presentation of Michael by the DNC is par for the course — lying is in the Alinsky toolkit. Democrats / Progressives range from amoral-to-immoral.
OTOH, with precious few exceptions, what passes for a GOP in Rhode Island is “moderates” (RINO’s). No discernible difference between them and Democrats; serving the Democrats merely to maintain a pretense that voters have a choice. John and (arguably retarded) Lincoln Chafee being representative examples.
Actually, when I read, and then listened directly to “Michael from Rhode Island,” . . . a “longstanding Republican for a long time who is voting for Biden,” I felt, the guy’s probably lying (for all the reasons mentioned in this thread, and more).
I would add, the descriptor “longstanding Republican for a long time” is obviously too wordy because it repeats itself. It just looks and sounds like it came from a person who was nervous for some reason the moment he spoke.
He knows he did something a little wrong.
R or D he’s still LOW IQ.
It’s a trans thing. He registered as a Democrat but identified as a Republican. Especially after they paid him to speak at the convention.
Lots of people register as Democrats but identify as Republicans. And I assume in R areas the reverse happens too. But I don’t believe this person is one of them.
Isn’t Michael a little ridiculous? What won’t the Dems lie about? The answer is nothing.
Like most things in politics in general and especially with the Democrats, odds are high this guy is a fake and a phony.
So long as he “identifies” as a Republican, he’s a Pubbie? Last week he identified as a burrito…..does that make him Mexican (or Tex-Mex)?
To belabor the obvious, they guy is a city worker in a locked up Socialist/Communist state. Perhaps he was a Republican when the city last had a Republican majority elected government.
