Biden, Other Senior Obama Admin Officials Received Flynn Unmasking Material

Sen. Rand Paul: “This is VP Biden using the spying powers of the US to go after a political opponent. He’s caught red-handed here.”

https://youtu.be/dGXC1NHr7Fw

A declassified document shows that presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden was one of many “officials who submitted requests to the National Security Agency at any point between 8 November 2016 and 31 January 2017, to unmask the identity of former National Security Advisor” Michael Flynn.

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified the list of former Obama officials. He sent the list to Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson.

The two senators released the list today.

Only yesterday, Biden claimed on Good Morning America that he did not have any knowledge “about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn.”

Biden tried to clarify without giving up too much information:

Biden was pressed again, and clarified: “I thought you asked me whether or not I had anything to do with him being prosecuted. I’m sorry. … I was aware that there was—that they asked for an investigation, but that’s all I know about it, and I don’t think anything else.”

However, Biden asked to view “an unmasked intercept” on January 12, 2017. That’s the same day The Washington Post published info about the phone call between then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Flynn.

Other big-time names on the list: former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, former UN Ambassador Samantha Power, former Obama Chief of Staff Denis McDonough.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul noted the hypocrisy:

Paul also asked Grenell “to testify before the Senate Subcommittee on Government Oversight next week” to answer questions about Biden and Obama:

“During my prior oversight of this matter, I met several dead ends, and I have many remaining questions in regard to President Obama’s administration abusing its authority,” Paul wrote to Grenell Wednesday. “Unlawful unmasking of U.S. persons should never be swept aside in hopes of being forgotten in time.”

I wonder if Paul could ask this question:

    What does it matter?

Observer in reply to Frank Hammond. | May 13, 2020 at 7:04 pm

When a president (who claims to be a constitutional scholar) and his cabinet members deliberately conspire to abuse the power of their offices, violate the constitution, and break numerous federal laws, all in order to get dirt on a political rival, it matters.

ooopsie!

sounds like malarkey to me. 😎

Joey Fingers gets caught with his hand in a different cookie jar this time.

Incredible that Plugs didn’t even remember that he was the one who demanded that unmasking. And of Flynn no less! Biden never burned particularly bright in the socket, but the lumen output of this dimwit is getting even more dimmer.

I’m to the point where I think a lot of us American citizens have assumed for too long that these swamp dweller couldn’t possibly be so corrupt, dumb, etc. At least they’re competent at it, I’ll give them that.

When Susan Rice, Hitlery Clinton, and others went on national TV and swore up and down that a stupid YouTube video caused 4 Americans on a secret mission in Libya to die over there, I knew then we were in for quite a ride once Obama was to be re-elected two month later, during his 2nd term.

Biden is a POS. He’s been in the Beltway for so long his warped, sick mind only knows corruption and that the status-quo in DC is “normal” to him and his fellow-travelers.

This thing is like a spider’s web when you start to untangle it all. there was no misfeasance involved it was all malfeasance. It all revolves around our old pal Johhny B.

Mr. 2smart, if I may be allowed to amplify your analogy of the “spider’s web,” a Gordian Knot might be be more apropos. It’s solution was majestic and suitably blunt. Here’s hoping the Barr/Durham findings produce the same results, with brutal indictments of everyone involved in this failed coup.

And it’s all coming apart ultimately right at election time in November.

If you look through the whole list, there are odd people on there. Treasury people, for example.

After review, I’m surprised someone from the I.R.S. wasn’t on it!

Taking a quick look at that list, every name that isn’t redacted (with the exception of Biden) would have been Senate-confirmed. The redacted names weren’t, so they had non-Senate-confirmed federal employees involved too.

And a deputy at the Dept. of energy??!! What?!

Close The Fed | May 13, 2020 at 4:18 pm

O.k., I guess the I.R.S. is IN Treasury! My mistake!

BierceAmbrose | May 13, 2020 at 4:44 pm

So, “this could get out of hand” turned out to be right.

Huh.

Still think this should have been a January 2017 thing, but I think it may be sweeter now since all these people have had two years to dig their holes saying “No, I know nothing about it, nothing at all, never unmasked anybody– Oh, THAT unmasking I denied fifty-six times. Yeah, it was only once or twice… fifty, you say? Oh, you know… Oh, a hundred and fifty. Well, I was quite busy back then and…”

Pathological liar with dementia. Great.

When I talk with friends about Biden, I just keep repeating, over and over, I had no idea the dems could be THAT much of bottom feeders. Just amazing. Truly amazing.

Money quote:

@RandPaul: “Remember we went through this thing called impeachment? They said President @realDonaldTrump was using the govt to go after a political opponent? This is VP Biden using the spying powers of the US to go after a political opponent. He’s caught red-handed here.”

Of course, they’ve accused Trump of doing the very things they’re guilty of doing, for over three years.

They wanted Flynn silenced and discredited through this election.

Hitlery: “We’re all gonna hang”-election night 2016

Yes, a boy can dream, Hitlery. A boy can dream…

Some Biden employee named Andrew Bates melted down on twitter,

Buck, his meltdown was dissing Catherine Herriddge, probably the best reporter there is today. He’s deleted the tweet.

      buck61 in reply to EOS. | May 13, 2020 at 7:21 pm

I agree, Ms. Herridge is one of the best reporters out there, somebody screen grabbed Bates’ tweet before he deleted, somebody running his fast response team should know better.

The tell if CBS is proud of their steal of Herridge from Fox is if they lead with this breaking news story of hers at 6:30. That’s in 6 minutes

My guess no. Especially with Norah O’Donnell at the anchor desk.

    buck61 in reply to EOS. | May 13, 2020 at 7:31 pm

Yahoo can’t bring it to themselves to post the story on their site, then again they have been promoting Isikoff for years.

I searched on Google earlier for the Biden interview from GMA yesterday morning, where he lied about being in the meeting at the WH in early 2017. Surprisingly George S. called him on it, reminding him he was at the meeting.

Gimme a break, they thought that by going after Trump they’d have this swept under the rug, and by now the American people would be marching in the streets to demand Trump’s removal. I’m confident the opposite has happened, in fact a lot of lefties and hard core Dems in general have been awfully quiet lately. Trump is not going to let this go.

It’ll all mean little, unless obama, clinton and company are brought to justice.

If they aren’t, it’s a free pass to do it all over again.

But for hillary clinton’s incompetence and hateability, we’d be enslaved.

When is Eric Ciaramella going to get unmasked?

What it all comes down to is part of Flynn’s job was to talk to foreign officials, and he was caught…. talking to foreign officials. The Logan Act is a non-starter (if it wasn’t, more than one sitting US legislator who practiced “private diplomacy” would have been put in jail) other than as a pretext to spy on the incoming administration.

The unmasking horde all felt political advantage was much more important than National Security, given that leaking that they recorded Russian phone calls revealed/confirmed means/methods. If there is traitorous action here, it wasn’t by Flynn, it was by whoever decided normally closely held secret recordings should become common knowledge, and by whoever inevitably leaked their existence for partisan internal political advantage.

Unfortunately, this is not new behavior by a Dem administration.
It was during the Clinton presidency that is was discovered political aide appointees were being given access to security background check files they had no proper need or clearance for – and that the illegally accessed files were all about Republicans – and other than the occasional “tut tut” no punishment or charges resulted. There is a REASON crowds at republican rallies are known to chant “Lock Her Up” when the HillderBeast is mentioned, it’s because anyone paying attention knows that starting with the Corrupt Clintons, the lack of consequences for abuse of office has been stunning. And each “keep out of jail (or firing)” card issued to professional Deep Staters only encourages the bastards to wash, rinse, repeat.

If you or I used a pass to visit the National Archives to steal a personal Unique copy of a meeting memorandum with my handwritten notes – which notes would further illuminate what people said at said meeting (which was evidence in congressional hearings) – walked out past the armed guards with the docs stuffed down our underwear, and then destroyed said notes at home – we would face actual punishment. We wouldn’t get a “tut tut”, no jail time, and our security clearance TEMPORALLY removed for no more than the period during which the administration would be controlled by the opposing political party – and we wouldn’t have a job requiring it anyway.

BobM you’re spot-on with your assessment, and for some time I’ve been telling people a lot of the malfeasance in Foggy Bottom and the Beltway in general can be traced back to people close to the Clintons. These people have tried to move heaven and earth to consolidate more and more power, within and around the Beltway, since Bill was President.

They’ve been lying in wait in a way, a domestic political terror cell ready to spring into action to quash resistance and anyone who gets in their way. Flynn and Trump got in their way, in fact they so got in their way the political terror cell’s girl Hillary didn’t get elected in 2016.

Someone or perhaps several someone’s on that list is a felon

Vote for Joe ‘Two Fingers’ Biden for President! Better a Rapist than a Republican!

Biden, Other Senior Obama Admin Officials Specifically Requested Flynn Unmasking Material

There. Fixed the headline. As it was it sounded like they simply received it. No, they went well out of their way to ask for it.

While everyone is salivating over this big unmasking disclosure we still have to look at the specific subject of the requests and the time line involved. People keep assuming that the Flynn-Kysliak call was intercepted as a result of a routine NSA surveillance of a foreign official and that Flynn was merely caught up in that intercept. It is further assumed that this was the government’s source for the content of that call. But, this may not be the case. At the time of the call, the Carter Page FISA Title I warrant had been in place for nearly three months. Under the two-hop rule, applicable to such warrants, it is very likely to almost certain that Flynn would have fallen under the surveillance auspice of that warrant. In other words, it is very likely that the Flynn-Kysliak call was intercepted pursuant to the Title I warrant and known to the FBI prior to any unmasking which may have taken place in the NSA file copy of the call. Some of the unmasking may have been done, by those with authority to do so, simply to satisfy their curiosity or to cover the original source of leaks of specific information, such as the Flynn-Kysliak call. Remember that the Crossfire Hurricane investigation was to continue after the inauguration. The anti-Trump conspirators did not want to blow that op by allowing its existence to become known to the incoming POTUS.

The real problem here is the mass unmasking done just prior to the Obama Administration leaving office. The Administration had changed the rules, concerning gathered intelligence, during the transition, to allow such intelligence to be shared, at anytime, with any federal agency, whether such intelligence had any relevance to the duties of that agency or not. By unmasking all of the US citizens in these specific intercepts, the entirety of the US Federal government now had access to sensitive information on these people, many of whom will likely turn out to be political opponents. This was coupled with the reclassification of Obama political appointees to Federal Civil Service positions, making it extremely difficult to terminate them.
