Believe All Women: Former Staffer Accuses Biden of Sexual Assault in 1993

Biden said during the Kavanaugh hearings: “…you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time.”

A former staffer of 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden claimed he sexually assaulted her in 1993.

Biden stated that we must believe all women after Christine Blasey Ford accused now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault.

Will Biden believe his former staffer? Will the left stick to their rules and believe her?

The Accusation

Tara Reade, a former staffer, claimed Biden “digitally raped her” in 1993:

Reade was a staff assistant for Joe Biden in 1993, when she claims he digitally raped her. She told part of her story in 2019, when Lucy Flores wrote in The Cut about the inappropriate way Biden smelled her hair and kissed the top of her head. At the time, several other women came forward to say that Biden had touched them in ways that made them uncomfortable, including Reade, who said that Biden used to put his hands on her shoulders and run his fingers up and down her neck. Now, she has detailed what she says is the entirety of her experience with Biden on The Katie Halper Show.

According to Reade, Biden pressed her up against a wall and digitally penetrated her without her consent. “It happened all at once, and then… his hands were on me and underneath my clothes,” she says. She also remembers him asking “do you want to go somewhere else?” and then, when she had pulled away, “Come on, man, I heard you liked me.” Reade says that “everything shattered” in that moment and his claim that he thought she liked him made her feel like she had “done this” somehow. “I looked up to him, he was my father’s age. He was this champion of women’s rights in my eyes,” she says. “I wanted to be a senator; I didn’t want to sleep with one.”

Reade said she “already complained to her bosses about sexual harassment in Biden’s office – she said a supervisor had once asked her to serve drinks at an event because she had attractive legs.”

One supervisor “shut her down before she could tell the whole story.” Reade filled out a form with details about the alleged assault, “but does not know what became of it.”

Reade attempted to bring her story to light many times. She watched some women come out last year, detailing situations with Biden that left them uncomfortable. Biden has a history of being touchy with women.

A local paper interviewed Reade in April 2019 after “Lucy Flores alleged that Biden had inappropriately sniffed her hair and kissed the back of her head as she waited to go on stage at a rally in 2004.”

People accused Reade of “doing the bidding of Russian President Vladimir Putin.” Reade went back into the shadows.

But as the campaign went on Reade decided to do more.

Reade contacted the organization Time’s Up, which formed after the #MeToo movement took off:

Following her accusations against Biden, reports from Ryan Grim at The Intercept detailed all the ways Reade was stonewalled in telling her story — including from Time’s Up, the high-profile organization founded to help survivors tell their stories in the midst of the #MeToo movement, which is housed within the National Women’s Law Center. According to Grim’s reporting, Reade asked for help from the organization in January of this year, but she was told they could not help her because it would jeopardize their non-profit status due to the fact that he was a presidential candidate.

“As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the National Women’s Law Center is restricted in how it can spend its funds, including restrictions that pertain to candidates running for election,” NWLC spokesperson, Maria Patrick, told The Intercept. It was also revealed in the same story that “the public relations firm that works on behalf of the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund is SKDKnickerbocker, whose managing director, Anita Dunn, is the top adviser to Biden’s presidential campaign.”

How Will the Democrats React?

Remember how the Democrats quickly defended Ford and the other women who accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault? How about the women who accused President Donald Trump?

Ford had a powerful ally in Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a former 2020 Democratic hopeful.

Harris endorsed Biden after she dropped out of the race. Will she support Reade and withdraw her endorsement? Probably not because Reade explained how she reached out to Harris, but no one responded to her.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), another former 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful, railed against Kavanaugh. He called himself “Spartacus” during the hearings. Booker did not care about Kavanaugh’s guilt or innocent though because he wanted to “move on to another candidate because ultimately the Supreme Court is not an entitlement.”

Will Booker withdraw his endorsement of Biden?

Reactions

Believe all women. We heard this phrase after many women accused disgraced media mogul Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. The accusations against Kavanaugh amplified the phrase.

Biden said during the Kavanaugh hearings:

Speaking generally, Biden added, “For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time. But nobody fails to understand that this is like jumping into a cauldron.”

So why have the mainstream media ignored it? (That’s a rhetorical question.)

Vox senior correspondent Zack Beauchamp provided some snark while others tried to twist the phrase:

Oh, remember the shaky allegations against Kavanaugh? We haven’t:

UPDATE – BIDEN DENIES

Biden campaign adamantly denies allegation of sexual assault

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign on Friday adamantly denied a newly surfaced allegation of sexual assault leveled by a former Senate staffer, calling the claim concerning the purported incident decades ago “false.”

“Women have a right to tell their story, and reporters have an obligation to rigorously vet those claims. We encourage them to do so, because these accusations are false,” Kate Bedingfield, deputy campaign manager and communications director for the Biden campaign, said in a statement to Fox News.

Wow, once again we see the two levels of justice in this country. One for them and another for thee and me!!

Biden will claim that it is a high tech lynching. And, he will go on to say that he never plagiarized anything in his whole life.

Using the creepy porn lawyer, Avenatti, at the end seems … unseemly.

Notice how METOO is covering for Quid Pro Joe

#MeToo is right of a woman to change her mind.

The big difference I see here is that this accuser actually met Biden and worked with him. So it might be credible. Also, there is a specific time and place that it happened.

On the other hand, there was never any evidence that Christine Blasey Ford ever met Kavanaugh, or that they were ever in the same building at the same time. Not remembering the time or the place was convenient, since it prevented Kavanaugh from proving that he wasn’t anywhere near there at that time.

If the power brokers that run the Dem Party want to kick Biden to the curb and replace him with someone less problematic, this is their chance.

Joe can always have sudden “health issue” pop up that forces him to step aside. And if he does it during the current COVID crisis, I don’t think anyone will really notice. Biden will be long forgotten before the national convention.

Objectively I don’t think this accusation is all that credible. Even if she’s telling the truth about originally trying to report it, how is it that for the next 25 years she did nothing?

However Biden made his bed and should now be made to lie in it. He should be judged by the standard he established. Presumed guilty with no possibility of rebuttal.

It seems credible to me in that it is weird, like Biden. He didn’t say anything to her but just pushed her against the wall and started because he thought she wanted it. Who would make up that story?

She tried to bring it up before, but the SJWs of the world screamed her down.

Milhouse in reply to InEssence. | March 29, 2020 at 3:31 am

She did not try to bring it up for 25 years. She claims to have tried at first; we have no evidence of that, but let’s suppose she did. But her next attempt at bringing it up was last year or so. For 25 years in between she did nothing. I don’t find that credible. But Biden did, when it was someone else. And that’s the standard he should be judged by.

In her story, she was fired the next day. Employers are required to have diligent records on that, but they are probably lost by now. She said that she complained at the time, but the employee doesn’t get their own personnel file without filing a legal case. What I am saying, is that there should be a paper trail, if she was fired. If the employment record is on file, they should contain her complaint.

“how is it that for the next 25 years she did nothing?…”

It is a hit job by the DNC.

DaveGinOly in reply to puhiawa. | March 27, 2020 at 10:43 pm

The DNC won’t allow Bernie to be the last man standing. Bernie must be squeezed out before Joe takes a bow. So I don’t believe it’s a DNC hit. If it were, they would have waited for Bernie to exit before springing the trap. As it is now, Bernie has an incentive to stay in, while the DNC has an incentive to not apply heat that would force out Joe. An exit by Joe would be a disaster for the DNC as long as Bernie is still in.

Personally, I think our society would be a lot more civil if it was still acceptable to bash a lying motherfucker over the head with a cane, or call him out in a duel and just kill his lying ass. These “press” twats would get their shit straight a lot more often if that were the case.

. #IBelieveTara.

you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts

Well, this is his own petard, and I can’t think of too many more deserving of a good hoist.

However, the story isn’t terribly strong, seeing as how it comes from somebody who considers being asked to “serve drinks at an event” to be sexual harassment.

Embezzler.

Traitor.

Pervert.

Presumptive democrat nominee.

The DNC doesn’t want to even get close to the Presidency right now.
This is why they have selected a guaranteed loser.
