Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blasted the Democrats over the pork they want to insert into the coronavirus bill.
He described it as a “left-wing episode of supermarket sweep.”

What they’re doing is the moral equivalent of price gouging during a disaster. But it’s even more shameful than that because they’re supposed to be the leaders in our society.
Not leaders, simply representatives & if any of them understood that we’d likely not be in this position to begin with. Tho a quick look at the electorates that sent them there will unfortunately tell all one needs to know.
Dems and Deep State apparently have no qualms about taking down the country, and entire world, just to try to destroy Trump.

I’ve wondered about the obvious attempt to “take down the country” to get Trump.
With so many at home in self or gov’t imposed quarantine, I’ve wondered if the next thing to go will be the internet? Where broadcast MSM is mostly liberal and even Fox has taken a leftward turn in recent years, the internet would seem to be the biggest means of right/conservative communication. Trump’s Twitter unfiltered. What better way to force people to watch the left’s non-stop barrage of Trump hate and liberal propaganda than to make their medium the only choice by breaking the internet. I wouldn’t say I feel it in my bones, but I wouldn’t put it past the powers-that-be either.
But ALL is backfiring on the DEMS – completely!

Not a Trump fan (but will probably vote for second time this year) but isn’t it amazing how he forces hacks like Schumer and Pelosi to show their true selves? The Bushes, McCain and Romney were kinder and gentler (being part of the Washington elites themselves) thereby allowing the “progressives” to pull back a from, and hide, their true thoughts yet keep their (small) base happy. Trump pushes back on them and their only alternative is to go further left to satisfy the tiny base while alienating normal, rational voters. I wasn’t sure that this would work out this way in 2016, but the one certainty was the what the “establishment” Republicans had been doing for decades wasn’t working. At least for normal people.
And the ““establishment” Republicans” didn’t care, because they were getting theirs…….

They’re doing this because they can. The Dems know that the MSM is going to frame this as the Republicans being unreasonable and holding things up if they don’t immediately agree to the Democrat’s laundry list of pet projects.
It’s a win-win for them. They either get all the socialist policies they’ve been pining for over the past couple of years, or they get the MSM blaming Republicans for denying Americans relief.
I think that’s why McConnell was working so hard to get something put together that the Senate could vote on before Pelosi had a chance to put together her Porkulus Deluxe bill.
If the House had put something together first, then the Senate voted it down because of the liberal shopping list attached, you KNOW the media would be howling at the top of their lungs about those evil Republicans denying Americans their relief.
But since he got the Senate version put together first, then it failed cloture on the insistence of Pelosi, the media will give the Dems cover until they can get their wish list assembled. We’ve already seen the first signs of it with the NYT changing the headline to hide the fact that it was Democrat obstructionism that tanked the Senate bill.
