Poll Finds Many Democrat and Republican College Students View Each Other as ‘Evil’

“37 percent of Democratic students think Republicans are essentially evil, and 39 percent of Republican students think the same of Democrats”

This is a sentiment that exists among many people in the general public as well.

The College Fix reports:

Many Democratic and Republican college students think of each other as ‘evil’: poll

It’s one thing not to like members of the opposite political party, but it’s quite another to think they’re malicious and diabolical. And yet a recent survey of college students found that nearly 40 percent of each political party thinks of the other as “basically evil.”

The recent College Fix online survey asked 1,000 college students whether members of the opposite political party “are not just worse for politics — they are basically evil.”

It found that 37 percent of Democratic students think Republicans are essentially evil, and 39 percent of Republican students think the same of Democrats.

These results closely mirror the findings of a set of national polls of Americans taken in recent years that asked an almost identical question. Those results found that roughly 42 percent of each party viewed the opposition as “downright evil.”

The student poll was conducted exclusively for The College Fix by College Pulse, an online survey and analytics company focused on college students.

Of the 1,000 students polled, 19 percent identify as strong Democrat, 19 percent as weak Democrat, 30 percent as Independent-Democrat leaning, 18 percent as Independent-Republican leaning, 6 percent as weak Republican, and 8 percent as strong Republican.

The scholars behind the national snapshots are political communication Professor Nathan Kalmoe of Louisiana State University and Associate Professor of Government and Politics Lilliana Mason at the University of Maryland, College Park.

This is a predictable result of the Political Correctness movement. It used to be that people would respect each others’ opinions while disagreeing with them. That respect allowed for open-minded discussion and compromise. Political Correctness changed that.

It the Politically Correct world, only one opinion is correct. Other opinions are not only wrong, but stupid and evil.

Once the leftist PC crowd started treating non-PC people as stupid and evil, those feelings strengthened on both sides. Now, both sides imagine the other side as being stupid and evil. Even the news media take one side or the other and slant their coverage so it makes the other side look stupid and evil.

Both sides seeing the other as stupid and evil is quite frankly dangerous. If a person’s wrong you can hope to correct them, if they’re evil you can only hope to incarcerate or terminate them.

Should those attitudes flow into politics then you’re looking at a Nazi GermanyCommunist RussiaChina type situation where enemies need to be purged from society, not given their Constitutional rights.

I know not all Democrats are evil, but a whole lot of them are. What are we supposed to do about that, ignore it?!
