Princeton Grad Students Demand Mandatory Diversity Course
“being led by a three-year-old student group known as Students For Educational Equity and Diversity”
You will study diversity and like it.
The College Fix reports:
Princeton grad students agitate for a mandatory diversity course
Not content with the number of requirements they already must complete for a graduate degree, public policy students at Princeton University are demanding a new “half-term distribution requirement” in diversity, equity and inclusion.
The issue is under consideration by the Woodrow Wilson School’s faculty, and around 50 graduate students demonstrated outside a faculty council meeting last week in support of the proposed mandate, The Daily Princetonian reports.
The activism is being led by a three-year-old student group known as Students For Educational Equity and Diversity:
The idea for the pilot program arose in early 2019 out of a WWS DEI standing committee, comprised of faculty, students, and administrators. The program would require students to complete one half-term course related to diversity and inclusion from a list pre-authorized by administrators.
The proposal takes inspiration from the newly announced Culture and Difference distribution requirement for undergraduate students, which will commence with the Class of 2024 this fall.
The proposed mandate is most popular among those studying international relations (74 percent), international development (86 percent) and domestic policy (84 percent), as determined by an online poll by the Woodrow Wilson Action Committee, the unorthodox name of the graduate student government.

If I am paying that kind of money for my education, and am taking a real major, I don’t want to be bothered with some Styrofoam course I don’t want.
And these are our future “leaders”???Heaven help us.Welcome to the Poison Ivy League.
Now they want to continue their program of political indoctrination into the graduate curriculum. Of course, the course would have to be made mandatory, or nobody would be stupid enough to take it.
Does stupidity even enter the picture? Who aside from grievance studies majors even CARE?
The faculty in the Woodrow Wilson School is like a convention of the Dem party.
Is the argument for the graduate level course that their undergraduate institutions did not sufficiently inculcate them with the virtues of diversity and inclusivity?
Required classes were a pain during grad school. One wants to tailor one’s curriculum to one’s interest at that level. I can’t fathom demanding a new requirement; if a class interests you enroll in it, don’t impose it on others.
From the article: “The activism is being led by a three-year-old student group known as Students For Educational Equity and Diversity …”
This can be read as a student group of three-year-olds. That explains much.
.
Obviously these students are future left wing faculty. The key is to cut the funding of universities and colleges by ending their privileged tax status and transferring scientific
research to publicly funded special institutes.
