I appeared on Fox News @Night with Shannon Bream on November 27.

We started with the upcoming Horowitz report on surveillance of the Trump campaign and then moved on to the current status of impeachment.

Here’s a partial transcript (video at bottom of post):

BREAM: According to the New York Times leaks, the Horowitz report also has some bad news for the FBI and that allegedly includes evidence that an FBI lawyer manipulated a key investigative document in the process of applying to get a warrant for surveillance on a Trump campaign staffer. Let’s discuss all of this with former deputy assistant attorney general Harry Littman and Clinical Professor of Law at Cornell, William Jacobson, also the founder of the Legal Insurrection website. Gentlemen, good to have both of you with us tonight…

Okay, so the New York Times also in reporting on what they say is going to be in the Horowitz reports says this, it will to talk about the fact that there is actually some wrongdoing by the FBI, in that it says, but Mr. Horwitz will sharply criticized FBI lawyers for their handling of the investigation in some ways and the honor of errors and omissions when FBI officials applied for the wiretap. A draft contained a chart listing numerous mistakes in the process. Um, professor, is that going to sway anyone?

WAJ: I don’t think so. I think people have made up their minds on what has happened, not just with regard to the investigation of the Trump campaign, but with regard to impeachment and other things. I mean, this has been going on for three years. The fact that there are leaks coming out trying to set the stage and spin a narrative. I just don’t think it’s gonna make a difference. Let’s wait till the Horowitz report comes out. Let’s see what it really says. But I don’t think at this point, three years into the effort to remove Trump, three years into fighting over the Mueller report, three years into all of the Russia collusion allegations. I don’t think minds are being changed at all by any of them.

BREAM: Yeah. Maybe not on either side. So to the finding though that the FBI says there were no, or, excuse me, that Horowitz says the FBI did not plant undercover agents or informants inside or make efforts to put them inside the Trump campaign. Town Hall says this, “We’re debating distinctions without differences here. The FBI didn’t spy or plant informants. They just send people to glean information from those who were with the Trump campaign, without them knowing they were working for the FBI. Words have no meaning if you believe any of this drivel.”

* * *

Yeah. And for now it’s speculation cause it’s based on a leaker of somebody who’s apparently seen a draft. Again, we’ll know December 9th, in the meantime there are those who think very differently about how we’ve seen impeachment play out on the Hill. Some think it’s a slam dunk for the president or against the president depending on where you’re coming from. Peggy Noonan writing a Wall Street Journal opinion piece said this: “As to impeachment itself, the case has been so clearly made, you wonder what exactly the Senate will be left doing. How will they hold a lengthy trial with a case this clear?” Professor?

WAJ: Yeah. Well, I think in many ways the Democrats are like the dog chasing the car and they found it and they don’t know what to do with it. What are the Democrats achieving? There is close to no likelihood that 20 Republican Senators are going to vote to remove Donald Trump, unless something completely startling were to come up in the next couple of months. So they’re not going to remove Trump, and based on all of the polling, they’re not achieving their political objectives. They are not convincing people to vote against Trump. They’re not convincing people to back impeachment. So what are the Democrats actually doing here?

I think what they’re doing here is they have wanted to impeach Donald Trump since the day he was elected. And they’re there now and it’s just not working for them.

I confess to be wearing a hat I just made out of tinfoil as I type this, but here it goes:
I think it’s very strange that Pelosi was all against impeachment but suddenly changed her mind and kick started the thing in a rush, when she could have waited just one more day.
Pair that with reports that her son is also implicated in the same kind of corrupt practices Hunter Biden is. Add the missing billions in US aid to Ukraine and then sprinkle Adam Schiff insisting that no retaliation will be allowed against so called “witnesses”.
I don’t know, but this is all too fishy. I think there’s a lot of dirty people with a lot to lose. I think some of them may not be after Trump, but after some kind of immunity for past deeds.
And I am not even wearing the hat anymore.

The democrats are like a pilot crashing an airliner full of innocent people just to get rid of one man.

      Ron Brown or Loretta Fuddy?

walls in reply to Lanceman. | November 28, 2019 at 2:12 pm

Yea. Ron Brown [who was reportedly going to testify against the Clintons] died in a plane crash … with a couple of slugs in his head for good measure. I guess they wanted to make sure he was really dead.

Milhouse in reply to walls. | November 28, 2019 at 2:36 pm

There were no slugs in his head. You’re repeating fake news, just as fake as the Steele garbage about Trump.

“There were no slugs in his head. You’re repeating fake news, just as fake as the Steele garbage about Trump.”

Nonsense. The US Air Force physician who examined Brown’s body said there was a hole in the top of the head consistent with a bullet wound and he recommended an autopsy, but the powers in control quickly cremated the body instead. You make the call. Point to Walls.

Pablo Escobar tried that, but the guy he was trying to kill had missed the flight.

I agree. Now imagine the panic when the call was overheard.
And then there is this, I have no doubt that every call made by Trump on the WH phone is immediately reported to a Democrat, Wray and the CIA. And not for good reason.

It was planned, at least as a possibility, from the beginning of the 116th Congress. At the beginning, the Dems made a package of rules changes, after extensive and expensive legal analysis, to lock down the “impeachment inquiry” process and remove opportunities for Republicans to be heard or interfere.

It’s a last resort because it’s ugly and obviously abusive of our national norms. But they’re like the HK “protesters”. When they’re losing control, they amp up the violence and start throwing figurative Molotov cocktails. And they can all keep straight faces and pretend they’re not trying to blow up our process and in fact our country.

Pelosi called letting the 2020 election decide “a weak response”. What more can be said?

Trump is allowing the Dems, media, never Trumpers, the DC establishment etc to reveal themselves every time he yanks their chain. We Normals see these people for what we know they have always been: aloof, arrogant, entitled, insulated and unaccountable. When they convulse with outrage when Trump tells the truth about them, the process repeats over and over.

“…the Democrats are like the dog chasing the car…” Perfect analogy, Professor. Maybe the Trump car will back over the democrat dogs? Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s a mistake to look for some kind of strategic or even tactical objective to the impeachment push. What the Democrats are doing is the only thing they can do. They are the party of hate and the party that considers “activism” a positive good, whether it’s actually for good or not.

They hate. They are acting on their hate. It’s what they do. Everything else is just window dressing.

With the revelation that Biden, Kerry, Pelosi and now Schiff, as well as 2 of his staffers (what are the chances of that? ) are all involved with and accepted money from Burisma, this impeachment looks like a preemptive strike.
I think the Ukraine call report by Vindman to Schiff and the whistle blower was more like a panic call than a legitimate concern for the country. Btw, Vindman also was up to his neck with noth Burisma and the previous president of the Ukraine. And he knows where the missing billion went. That was in part his job.

Who is on charge of impeachment for the next Democrat president elected?

Given the new tradition, we have to start planning NOW.

It only works if we take back the House.

Subotai Bahadur in reply to TheFineReport.com. | November 28, 2019 at 5:08 pm

Are you making an assumption that if a Democrat ever assumes the presidency again that any Constitutional processes or elections [where the votes are not already counted and certified a week before the election date] will happen again? An optimist are you?

    Subotai Bahadur

It’s amazing how many people just accept the form and quality of justice that the Democrats and deep state have established with the impeachment effort.

The Democrats think they will continue to be elected despite their obvious abuse of power and I’m horrified that they are probably correct.

If Trump is reelected but the Dems keep the House and take the Senate, I expect another impeachment inquiry, just hoping to get lucky in the Senate.

Think of the sickest least American thing they could do. Expect that.

If nothing else, we have learned once again how nearly impossible it is to overwhelm the American public with propaganda. The corrupt establishment’s passionate lies are again being defeated by an “army of Davids”. This is how the “Tea Party” prevailed a decade ago: with a fact-based, common sense narrative that was consistent to normal people who do most of the living in this country.

Many new players like Breitbart and increasingly LI have since stepped into the vacuum left when the fourth estate surrendered to the dirty globalist money. The new players began connected to “the street” and prevailed by assimilating the facts we know to the ones being uncovered to develop a cohesive fact-based narrative that easily managed to stay ahead of the lies.

The lies keep changing as they fail one after the other to be replaced by new even less believable lies told with increasing intensity and passion. The truth-based narrative is so much easier to swallow because it is logical, consistent and not being told by raving lunatics trying to sell us on the benefits of cancer.

Maybe if their weren’t always on fire we could stop to listen to what they are saying but their pants are ALWAYS on fire. And they are always blaming us for that. What is wrong with them?!

The Dems expected Trump to resign long ago. They backed themselves into a corner now and are making it up as they go, always hoping for the Trump resignation “any day now.” Only the mainstream media is keeping the Dems from total implosion.

Another Voice in reply to TX-rifraph. | November 28, 2019 at 6:36 pm

“media keeping the Dems from total implosion”

Your thought that the media is “keeping” them from a total implosion is opposite of my seeing the media as the catalyst bringing greater pressure to bear upon the democrat party to “bring home the bacon”. The intent of the media to take down our President but I feel it is more than likely to have the unintended consequences to cause a historical seismic implosion within the progressive party of democrats. One which may very well split the party system into more than the two party system which we see fail the American Voters.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Another Voice. | December 2, 2019 at 1:16 pm

“We the People” don’t need no stiking “media.”

Today everyone can be their how Thomas Paine
      with a “printing press!”

They’re a little more like the Underwear Gnomes.

1) Find something we can blame on Trump.
2) Impeach him on it.
3)
4) President Hillary!

Watching next years meltdown is going to be pure pleasure, and deeply satisfying.

Yea. Ron Brown [who was reportedly going to testify against the Clintons] died in a plane crash … with a couple of slugs in his head for good measure. I guess they wanted to make sure he was really dead.

talk about a near-perfect murder–unfortunately took-out thirty or so people along with him–but there was one survivor if remember correctly–two experienced pilots on an instrument approach and ruled controlled flight into terrain–right–and brown happens to have a .452 hole in the top of his head despite the obvious trauma of the crash–only question, if remember correctly, is if he sustained the gunshot before the crash or was given the coup de grace by one of the ” rescuers ” first on the scene

I have seen reports of Doug Jones being awarded the soon to be vacant seat in the Senate. The question becomes, who will the repubs appoint as the new ranking member if the Judiciary committee extends into the new year. Jim Jordan sits in this group as well as Ratcliffe and Gohmert. Sensenbrenner may be the senior member but do not see in that role.

What happened to all the documents that were supposed to be declassified? Trump didn’t do it and turned it over to Barr. Barr has unclassified nothing and probably never will.
