Vulnerable Dems Taking Impeachment Heat Over Thanksgiving
GOP ad onslaught targets Democrats like Anthony Brindisi in NY-22, in a toss-up race.
I was in Ithaca for a school event recently, and it didn’t take much time so see an anti-Impeachment ad on TV.
This ad directed at Anthony Brindisi (D-NY22) was all over the airwaves (not sure if it was Binghamton or Syracuse stations):
Brindisi barely won NY-22, upsetting incumbent Republican Claudia Tenney, who is running again to get back the seat. Cook Political Reports rates the race as a toss-up.
As of two days ago, Brindisi was saying he remained undecided on impeachment.
Ads targeting vulnerable Democrats like Brindisi have Democrats reeling, according to Politico, Vulnerable Democrats spooked by GOP impeachment ad onslaught:
Vulnerable Democrats are watching in horror as GOP impeachment attacks deluge their districts back home. And they want a much stronger counteroffensive from their own party and its allies.
Some of those Democrats raised their concerns with party leaders this week as they prepared to leave for Thanksgiving recess, fearing that voters will be bombarded by anti-impeachment ads as families gather around the TV for parades and football, according to multiple lawmakers and aides.
GOP-aligned outside groups have spent roughly $8 million on TV spots this cycle in battleground districts, such as Rep. Anthony Brindisi’s central New York seat. The vast majority of those ads specifically hammer Democrats over impeachment.
Meanwhile, swing-district Democrats are receiving little reinforcement from their own party or even other liberal coalitions….
Ithaca is in the 23rd District, which is even more conservative than NY-22, but NY-22 is still typical of most of upstate NY. Gun rights are big as is anti-establishment sentiment. Trump won the district in 2016 54%-39%.
There’s a reason the anti-impeachment ad features Nancy Pelosi and AOC.
Brindisi is vulnerable.
If he votes for impeachment, he’ll be one-term and out. He’s definitely feeling the heat over the holiday.

“When you can’t make ’em see the light, make ’em feel the heat”
I think at this point most of the new Dems are in deep trouble not because, they “May” vote for impeachment but because they have already voted for the inquiry with the most unfair rules ever established in the House. It wasn’t an inquiry, it was an inquisition and they realize how bad it was now. Too late!
We have one Dem Housemember in Kansas, and I didn’t see the word ‘impeach’ in anything she’s publicized over the last few weeks. Hopefully, she’ll be ‘one and done’ this election year.
These 31 vulnerable Democrats already voted for the “inquiry” which gave us the theater of the past couple of weeks. For that alone they should be voted out. Keep the pressure up – this should blow up in Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and crazy Maxine’s face’s like an exploding cigar.
“For that alone they should be voted out”
Yes, of course. But no Democrat should get into office in the first place. Ds do not value Americanism. Trust a Muslim to be a Muslim. Trust a Democrat to be a Democrat.
This is why I believe Nancy will soon pull the plug on Schiff. This will only get worse for the Dems if she doesn’t. Her only hope would be that McConnell saves her ass by proceeding with the impeachment in the first place and then denying Trump’s call for issuing subpoenas for Schiff, Ciaramella, and Hunter Biden to testify under oath.
She really can’t risk it if she hopes salvage anything out of Trump’s 2020 landslide victory. As it stands, the Democrat party establishment is about to be taken over by the Squad. Next: drain the Republican swamp.
I hear you Phil, but imo its far too late for Pelosi to stop her multiple Schiff shows.
She’s in Deep State Schiff and is going to be buried alive in Schiff…..
It’s never too late. She never wanted it to get this far and now that she has given the Commie Squad a taste of where it goes, the non-Squad Democrat majority would give a sigh of relief. End of impeachment talk by Dems and NeverTrumpers to the dismay of the Squad and NeverTrumpers alike (including McConnell).
Speaking of that DEM Commie Squad…..
In Less Than A Year, 3/4 Of The ‘Squad’ Is Under Financial Investigation

While I have no love for or faith in McConnell, tarring him as a participant in the democrat led coup attempt with no evidence is unfair.
Graham heads the judiciary committee as has already pledged there would be no hearsay allowed, and the Bidens and Schiff will be called.
You seem to think there is some path to getting 20 or so republican senators to vote guilty and remove Trump. There is not. We still have elections and those senators do not want to lose their seats. And that includes McConnell who is up for election in a state that was +30 for Trump, and Graham in SC that went +15 for Trump.
It’s over. As I’ve been saying, I don’t believe the D’s will even impeach. They can’t afford the senate trial with fair rules.
We are all stating our opinions here. As to McConnell, he is the “big cheese” heading the GOP Senate swamp. Do you really believe that the top guy would be clean while heading the most corrupt Senate of all time? Really? He has admonished Trump several times about his using the term “the Swamp”. This is not a guy who is “singing the tune” with conviction. Believe me, he has cut a deal with Pelosi. Bet on it.
As of two days ago, Brindisi was saying he remained undecided on impeachment.
These vulnerable Dims may be in a no-win situation. If they come out in favor of impeachment, they probably lose votes from moderate Dimocrats. If they announce their opposition to impeachment, they lose votes from the TDS Dimocrats.
Maybe he can try the Hilliary strategy of ‘stay out of sight’.
They MAY be beginning to figure out that they were elected to do a job, and that job was NOT to fix the deplorable mistake of electing President Trump. Then again, maybe not. They seem to be very slow learners.
Democrats think their “job” is to rape and loot!
This is about to become the best entertainment ever for no matter what the Dems do, they will face disaster.
>
If the Dems hold the impeachment vote and are successful, then the process goes to the Senate where the Republicans are in charge. You can expect the whistle blower, Schiff, and many others to be forced into testifying and the results will not be pretty. The best outcome the Dems could hope for is unity among the Dems as they vote to remove Trump (no Republican is going to cross the aisle.) This will be vindication for Trump and disaster for the Dems with the fall election going accordingly.
>
If the Dems forgo the impeachment vote and simply vote to censure, then Trump and company will crow about his vindication. This will be a terrible loss for the Dems as the election next years revolves around this entire distraction and it will not help the Dems in the least. Once again election disaster for the Dems.
>
If the Dems decide to let this just fall away with no action, then this will be worse than voting for censure since it was much ado with zero result. Public’s response will be akin to “You wasted all that time doing nothing but this and for what?”
>
The bottom line comes down to those Democratic Representatives who are running for reelection in those areas Trump won. If they vote for impeachment or possibly even censure, then their political lives will likely be over. Watching each of these representatives struggle over the decision on which way to vote will be most entertaining.
Absolutely, you got it.
I ordered more popcorn today.
I need to order a case or three of champagne.
50 lb bags of popcorn here – you can buy them at Sams Club or Costco.
This is shaping up to be the Perfect Storm of politics. The democrat ship will be washed up onto the shoals of impeachment, then broken apart by three giant waves named Horowitz, Huber and Durham.
There was already one ‘impeachment vote’, no? All of these commie Dems voted for impeachment already. Let ’em twist in the wind.
Why do all the Democrats in those pics and videos up above have such Crooked Faces????????
NEVERMIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
t’s about time the DemocRATS were slapped down for initiating this “soft” coup against a duly elected President. Any DemocRAT in a vulnerable district (and some not so vulnerable) should lose bigly in 2020 so the Republican’s can regain the House, strengthen their hold in the Senate and implement President Trump’s agenda to make America even greater until 2024.
Let’s take America back from the Left in 2020.
JMT … Wilkes Barre here
If this were a Republic Pictures western, at this point in the film the house Democrats would be realizing that they have ridden at a gallop into a “box canyon.” There is no way out. It’s going to be a slaughter in 2020.
Hear! Hear!
“…they have ridden at a gallop into a “box canyon.””
Todays internets winner.
Yes, they have.
New York 23rd Dist. weighing in..Prof. J. has covered the Upstate NY political scene well here @ LI going back 10 years. He has his thumb on the pulse of just how strong the conservative resolve is in an area covering 6 counties. Brindisi will forever be remembered for as much of what he didn’t do as to what he actually does. As many other congressmen in the next go around, he’s going down. And Prof J. Will be there to make sure.
How do we get these ads in NH for Pappas and Kuster?
As of two days ago, Brindisi was saying he remained undecided on impeachment.

It is important to me to hear from constituents on this issue. Directly after I stated my public support for an impeachment inquiry, I held large public town halls in all three counties across our district to clearly explain the logic behind my decision, receive feedback, and to ensure that I heard from constituents – including those who disagreed with me. I recognize that not everyone in our district supports my decision, but it is a decision that I did not come to lightly. Whether you agree with my decision or not, I hope you know that I came to it after judicious and thoughtful reflection, rooted in my belief that it was the right thing to do based on my oath of office and my duty to protect our democratic institutions.

I’ve been hammering her. The above is just a small part of her response to one of my emails.
I’ve also called her a political hack. It’s been fun.
These dumo’s aren’t only going to lose re-election over the impeachment issues they are going to lose over the resistance they are been doing since they got elected. They have done absolutely nothing for The American people but have taken OUR money and sat around doing nothing. They should have rallied together and forced Pukey Pelosi to put all those bills up for vote instead of sitting around making up a bunch of partisan bills that they know darn well will never pass in the Senate. We have the USMC bill sitting and waiting to be voted on, bills on lowering prescriptions, bills on infrastructure, bills on gun safety .. all of those are waiting to be put to the house vote but O’NO .. can’t do that.. to busy taking time off and when they are in session they are only focused on resistance and impeachment
They have destroyed their own party and have done nothing but waste time and money on all this BS investigating and even tho it’s obvious even to a blind man/woman that Schitty Schifty Schiff is a pathological liar and so is Pukey Pelosi they continue to lie, lie , lie and those in their party lie right along with them. They didn’t learn Squat with the Russia Hoax and Mueller Report Fiasco and they are never going to learn even after this impeachment mess
BTW .. it was mentioned about censure and i did some reading up on it .. they have already tried censuring Our President twice and it went nowhere and with the censure process it requires votes from the house and the senate which that won’t happen AND what is also a requirement for censuring (since it’s a form of shaming type punishment) is the person being shamed/punished must stand in front of the accusers and publicly allow the accusers to read off (shame them) all the things they are being punished for and there ain’t no way our President is going to go for that
*****On August 18, 2017, a resolution was introduced in the House to censure President Donald Trump for his comments “that ‘both sides’ were to blame for the violence in” the Unite the Right rally.[20][21] On January 18, 2018 another motion to censure Trump was introduced in the House of Representatives by Rep. Cedric Richmond (D), who at the time was the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, for Trump’s remark, alleged by people in the room, stating “Why do we want all these people from ‘shithole countries’ coming here?” According to people in the room at the time, Trump was referring to people from Haiti and African nations coming to the United States of America. The censure motion failed to reach any legislative action.[22] This comment was alleged to have been made on January 11, 2018 in an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers regarding immigration. ****
