Sen. Ron Johnson Would Subpoena the Bidens, Schiff, and the Whistleblower
“I have that subpoena power and I’m not afraid to use it”
In a radio interview with WSAU Thursday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee was asked if he would consider issuing subpoenas to the Bidens, Rep. Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Chairman, and the whistleblower.
Jonson answered carefully and said bringing in witnesses for question is a multi-step process, the last of which is a subpoena. Johnson indicated a subpoena wouldn’t be necessary if the above mentioned group were to cooperate.
As transcribed by The Hill:
Pressed if he would issue subpoenas for House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), former Vice President Biden or his son Hunter Biden or the whistleblower at the center of the impeachment inquiry, Johnson stressed that he was still trying to collect information.
“I don’t really want to make news on your program because I’m working with Senator Grassley’s staff, but we’re having meetings in terms of what our next steps are,” Johnson told WSAU, a Wisconsin radio station on Thursday.
“I’m not going to get out ahead of my skis here. …In order to bring in witnesses for questioning you want to lay the groundwork,” Johnson continued. “[A] subpoena is the last step in the process, you go through a multiple step process.”
Asked by the talk radio host if he was willing to say that the Bidens, the whistleblower and Schiff would be subpoenaed “once he got to the bottom of all this,” Johnson added “unless they cooperate willingly, and that may happen.”
“If not, yeah I have that subpoena power and I’m not afraid to use it,” he said.
Asked if he was willing to say he would use it, Johnson added: “I will use it.”
Johnson and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have fired off a flurry of oversight letters, including requesting any State Department records involving Hunter Biden or Ukraine gas company Burisma.

Which is one reason we can tell that this circus was never intended to reach the Senate. The Senate is far too dangerous for the D’rats. The D’rat strategy is to air conspiracy theories to a gullible Press and public for purposes of embarrassing DJT, conspiracy theories which seem to have some sort of testimony to back them up.
It’s a bad plan; no force has yet been found which can embarrass DJT enough to do the D’rats any good.

The press isn’t gullible, they’re co conspirators.
Nunes should have requested that Eric Ciaramella testify not as the WB but as an NSC staff member and then let Shiff try to explain why Eric couldn’t testify.
No, because the *first* Republican to officially speak the name of He Who Shall Not Be Named in committee or on the floor will be hammered like a horseshoe, 24/7 by both the media and the Dems (but I repeat myself) They will howl and screech, throw themselves down on the floor and thrash, declare that every single thing that might happen to Eric from that point on is entirely the Evil Republican’s fault right down to corns and shin splints. The Dems know the louder they can scream about it, the less the obvious gaping holes in Eric’s testimony will show.
This is exactly why the Dems will avoid voting to impeach. Their strategy relies on controlling the narrative by allowing only witnesses who will try to incriminate Trump. They need Schiff to veto all the Republicans’ witnesses and to shut down any inconvenient questioning.
This plan falls apart if they vote to impeach, which opens the door for the Senate to take over. The Senate will subpoena the witnesses that Schiff vetoed, they will ask the obvious questions, and the truth will emerge.
This would be a political disaster for the Dems, showing how they conspired with the “whistleblower” to orchestrate a “coup” (the word used by the “whistleblower’s” attorney). It would also expose corruption among the Dems, and show why it was proper for Trump to urge the Ukrainians to investigate and stop the corruption involving US citizens.
It is already a total political and moral disaster for the DEM Party….. Also for the DEM Plantation OWNED Msm Slaves…
Poll: 53% of Black Voters, 60% of Other Minority Voters Say Media Are Trying to Help Impeach Trump

I would agree with you but for one problem with that. You’re assuming that the democrats are operating on a rational level. They are not. And the democrats haven’t been operating on a rational level for some time. Their obsession with removing Pres. Trump borders on insanity. Correction, their obsession is insanity. And this is the democrats last ditch effort to accomplish that. Nothing has worked so far so yes, the democrats will be voting to impeach. Articles of Impeachment will be passed in the House where they will pass. And the Senate will have to hold a trial. Where calmer and more rational people might hopefully prevail. This is all pre-ordained to happen. It is inevitable.
I wish I was wrong but I
But if they don’t vote to impeach, they demoralize the base, no? Or are they taking the base for granted because Trump?
Why does the Senate have to wait until after the Dims finish their phony impeachment? The Dims won’t hold a vote for impeachment in order to prevent the Senate from exposing their scam. The Senate should hold a hearing ASAP and subpoena the testimony of every witness Shifty is blocking from testifying. The whistle blower, Shifty and staff, the fired Ukrainian prosecutor and the Bidens would be a good start. They could find out if Shifty was lying when he claimed to not know the name of the whistle blower and how long Shift colluded with the whistle blower to gin up the complaint. They should also find out why Biden’s unemployable son was hired at Burisma and how much Joe Biden was paid for stopping the Ukrainian prosecutor’s investigation of Burisma.
Well then maybe the pubs should vote to impeach to get a public trial in the Senate for the purpose of destroying the Dems
*eyeroll*
Talk is cheap. Let me know when you actually subpoena one of them. Until then you’re just blowing smoke.
Just like Graham. Talks tough in interviews, has yet to issue a single subpoena.
Feel the same way. The Repub. are a bunch of wimps. Kelly Ann is the only one who has any guts. She sure give it back to Wolf yesterday.
Sounds to me like his actions require the approval of Sen Grassley. This is going nowhere.
He can also subpoena Yavanovich!
“Masha” Yavonovich: When You Think About It, I’m Just Like the Four Diplomats Being Murdered in Benghazi. I’m a Hero!!!
This is how all civil servants really conceived of themselves.
They’re all superheroes. Marvel should make movies about them.

“Jonson answered carefully and said bringing in witnesses for question is a multi-step process, the last of which is a subpoena.”
Very funny, jackass. The clock has run down. Another carrot for us rubes to chase. Because we’re idiots.
The only thing Grassley and this *&^ jackass intend to do is string us along and extort votes from us because the “investigation” is ongoing. You m*&^$# f*&^% c*^%$$g *^%ards
Once it hit the Senate the left loses control. they can’t keep anything buried they can stop testimony and they can’t keep the right from calling anyone they want. The Senate also needs to be present so not campaigning.
Pssst. Fun fact: the Senate has held ZERO hearings into the origins of the Russia with hunt or any other narrative. The Republicans are complicit with the Democrats to nullify Trump. Wake up!
The Senate isn’t a police agency. It holds hearings to collect data on matters which would affect future legislation, or other functions which are specifically assigned to the Senate, such as impeachment trials or ratification of treaties. Hearings on the crimes of the Democrats would be a waste of time and effort—maybe even an abuse of authority—since there is no way that the Senate could outlaw the Democratic Party. Nor is there any solid legal excuse to hound potential witnesses in the current House proceedings since the House hasn’t actually voted to impeach the President; until it does, none of this is any of the Senate’s business.
And that’s why the House will never quite get around to voting on impeachment. By not voting, the House Dems can wallow in perpetual sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Schiff looks like an ideal candidate for sexual reassignment. Just imagine Schiff and Al Gore taking one of those 10 day junkets and returning as men.
Those bug eyes of his look scared!
We’ll show them! Send off another flurry of letters,!!
For a long time I have been saying the senate should subpoena all the top DNC conspirators. What did Hillary know regarding her operative digging for dirt using both US Ukrainian resources and Ukrainian government resources to conspire with the Obama WH to ensure a landslide victory for Hillary in 2016. If the GoP had a backbone the number of Deep State operatives exposed under oath boggles the mind. Pelosi is not going to move any legislation anyway, so how about be productive and break a sweat. Drain the Swamp.
The GoP really do not even need the excuse of the DNC BOGUS impeachment. McConnell should have been castoff long ago. The Gop senate should have been moving the day Trump took office.
Side note: ATM The Drudge Report does not seem to care about yesterday’s Schiff Show. Oliver Stone seems to be the topic.
Drudge is old news. He really blew it.
Yes, Drudge is gone. Checked it to see how many articles were colored red touting MSM #NeverTrump articles he had, and was amazed that there were none. I have myself setup with RSS and can see what I want when I want.
Beta males led by crazy women.
It’s working out great, isn’t it?
Said it many times here and other places. Witness list for the Senate removal hearings: brennan, clapper, comey. mccabe, jarret, lynch, yates, rice, the bidens, the ohrs, simpson, steele, halper, downer, misfud, strzok, page, and many more SpyGate coup plotters. Oh, don’t forget obama. It will be a 5th Amendment shiff show never before imagined…
Blah blah blah. I could do this. I could do that. In the meantime, the Senate hasn’t done squat. They are part of the swamp and know how to distract from the fact that they are just as complicit as the Democrats.
Should Schiff be called to testify in a Senate impeachment trial, would his lies be protected by the speech and debate clause?
The Republicans might be better off if they let the Democrats keep the “whistleblower” (“W”) under wraps. It’s the Dems burden to prove that Trump committed an offense worthy of impeachment and removal, and if they don’t produce W, the public will be bewildered and sense the process is unfair. So why bother issuing a subpoena to W if his appearance would possibly advance the Democrats cause and neutralize a Republican advantage?
