Monmouth Poll: 62% of Trump Supporters Say Nothing He Does Will Sway Them

Monmouth Poll: 62% of Trump Supporters Say Nothing He Does Will Sway Them

The Democrats will never learn.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn48UP4hx3Q

A new Monmouth University Poll shows that 62% of those who approve of President Donald Trump’s performance cannot think of anything he could do to make them not support him.

Then again, those who do not support Trump, cannot think of anything he could do to sway them to his side.

Important to note the poll only had 401 respondents: 42% Independents, 29% Republican, 29% Democrat.

Trump’s Behavior

You know the media loves to whine about Trump’s behavior. But we all know Trump was like this before he ran for president. It amazes me that they think his behavior would somehow shock us.

Look at this:

https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_110519/

Yes, Trump’s behavior does not surprise 79% of the respondents. Then again, the elites in the MSM and DC would know this if they took the time and spoke to us regular Americans.

Or they could just read Salena Zito and Brad Todd’s book The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics. She took the time to talk to people in flyover country and understand why they voted for Trump.

I remember many of the people telling Zito that Trump’s behavior did not bother them.

Ukraine

The next part has to do with Ukraine. The replies appear to give Democrats hope, but the last question squishes those dreams.

The Democrats insist Trump threatened Ukraine with no aid or withholding aid if the government did not investigate former Vice President Joe Biden.

The House has started the impeachment inquiry process. The entire MSM has covered this, which means it’s not shocking that 64% said they have heard a lot about it.

The poll found that 52% of those questioned think Trump pressured the Ukrainian government while 45% believe members of the administration also did this.

Impeachment

Here’s where it gets a tad tricky. 37% of the people agreed “Trump’s actions are clearly grounds for impeachment.”

However! 42% of those polled strongly agreed the Democrats should concentrate on the 2020 election to oust Trump instead of through impeachment.

This is where it gets dicey for the Democrats:

https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_110519/

The Democratic Agenda

Overall the poll shows the elite that Americans are not dumb. We can see through the veils and read between the lines. We know that they only have their interests in mind, not the country.

https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/reports/monmouthpoll_us_110519/

I imagine those who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome will break if Trump wins again in 2020 because they just cannot accept the fact that people like the guy.

polls can be skewed anyway you want them to go, the problem with this poll is what has Pres Trump done that was wrong, so far I have seen nothing. If the whistle blower has any legs to stand on bring them out in the open. if you say the whistle bower had a right to anonymity read the IG form they should have signed.

dystopia in reply to ronk. | November 6, 2019 at 9:41 am

The individual is a leaker not a whistle blower. In fact the complaint form was changed very close to the time of the leak to permit third party hearsay allegations). Vindnman as a military officer could not file a complaint. The leaker is a Biden supporter.

We are witnessing an effort to abuse the Law to execute a coup. Lawfare instead of bullets

Why should anyone believe the progressive fascists after they spent nearly 3 years lying about Russian collusion? This goes double for Congressman Shift as he swore that he had proof of collusion and which was a lie.

2smartforlibs | November 6, 2019 at 9:13 am

The propaganda machine will never learn they didn’t make Trump they can’t take him down. My problem is with teh knuckle dragger that never see the light on the bigot party and its corruption. VA goes liberal with all the murderer they have had over liberal policies and they want more?? How low does your IQ have to be to vote left?

Another dumb poll. Trump supporters stopped believing media lies, so they will dismiss out of hand any media allegations.

i’m not worried about Trump doing anything that would make me not vote for him…

if he was dirty and corrupt, it would have come out years ago. there’s nothing in his taxes, or he would have been taken to court.

i’m sure the reason he gets audited every year is because of the sheer size & complexity of his filings. i’m also sure that the reason they have obviously never found anything actionable is because he hires the best tax people he can, and has told them to stay away from the edges of the tax code, which is where bad things happen.

there is no there, there.

The Democratic press was repeated warned about this phenomena as far back as 2016.

Somewhere around “Donny Two-Scoops” most Trump supporters stopped paying any attention to negative press reports about him.

However, they couldn’t resist chasing every rumor and shadow…. to the point that no one believes in ghosts any more.

Is Trump Abe Lincoln? No, hell no! But he is one of us and that makes him different from the rest of DC. Is he flawed? Hell yes! He is a blowhard and has very thin skin. He is a braggart and an exaggerator. BUT he is so fing transparent that we all know what he is really saying. Name one other pol that can be said the same of. Does he know the DC rules? Hell no and that’s a good thing. When he called the Ukraine prez did he hide his conversation? Hell no, there was a party line with everyone in DC on it! Did he try to weasel around his words? Hell no, he said exactly what he thought and wanted to get to the bottom of the Russian hoax and Ukraine was a big part of it. That’s his ego and also his lack of DC PC! Would I like to sit and have a beer with him? Hell no, but then there are only a handful of people that I would do that with.

“Is Trump Abe Lincoln? No, hell no! ”

    Well, thank God for that.

Zardoz in reply to Barry. | November 7, 2019 at 8:39 am

I sure am glad he is no Lincoln. Lincoln was the one that was in the wrong from the git-go concerning our first civil war. The constitution is very, very clear on what it takes to secede from the United States. That would be to hold a state constitutional vote on separation. I think it is 2/3rds of the voting people in a state makes it constitutionally correct to do so. Pres. Lincoln first destroyed the constitution and then the people of the states that legally separated from the US. No, I sure hope President Trump is no Lincoln.

ConradCA in reply to Zardoz. | November 7, 2019 at 1:01 pm

Succession isn’t mentioned in the constitution so their is no way for states to secede. The Constitution isn’t very long, you should read it before spreading lies about it. Where the hell did you get the idea that it was possible?

Slavery was evil and when honorable men who opposed it had the power to end it the south seceded in order to preserve evil. Looking back the Southerners would have been better off ending slavery by letting them work to buy their freedom.

We know Trump is engaged in negotiations on all fronts and so far, he has delivered what he promised in the end. We have to trust him because elected him to do what he is doing. The masks have dropped and we can see things much more clearly than we did in 2016. Everything since then has confirmed voters were right to elect him.

We’ll only know for sure in the end… maybe. But for now, pro-Trump is the only game in town. Our last hope.

A) Trump was wrong to set the stage for a criminal investigate a political opponent for political purposes.

B) Obama was also wrong to start the a fake criminal investigation of a polical opponent. ie Russiangate

C) Trump was correct to set the stage for an investigation of corruption.

D) Being a political opponent does not make the person immune from investigation of corruption. ie Hillary Clinton or Biden

Seems to me your D cancels out your A! Trump didn’t set the stage for a criminal investigation into a political opponent, Biden did!

      Joe-dallas in reply to MarkS. | November 6, 2019 at 12:19 pm

My only complaint is in the manner in which Trump did it.

Though he was hamstrung by the Deep State’s lack of willingness to investigate the obvious corruption along with the recent revelations that the deep state believes they should be running foreign policy

Exactly what “manner” would you have him do it?

        clintack in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 6, 2019 at 2:25 pm

Are you sure it’s actually the manner in which President Trump acted that bothers you, and not the version you initially heard from Adam Schiff (which turned out to be a lie) or the well-spun version you first heard in the media?

        Arminius in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 6, 2019 at 7:57 pm

What is your major malfunction? If Trump had any malevolent intent he could have talked to Zelensky in a private meeting with no witnesses. Sort of like when Obama said to Medvedev (not knowing the mike was on, thinking no one was around to listen in), “Tell Vlad I’ll have more flexibility after the election.” Flexibility to do what? Pass highly classified missile parameter data to the Russians so the Russians could more effectively shoot them down! An action that Congress had already passed a special law specifically aimed at Obama since he had already signaled his intentions to compromise our nuclear strike capability, which Obama signed, making that course of action a crime. And Obama stole what he thought was a private moment to let the Russians know he intended to break that law.

In stark contrast Trump talked with the Ukrainian president on a phone call with no less than 17 witnesses listening in. In sharp contrast to Obama, the way Trump handled his business was entirely above board and entirely within his authority per the United States – Ukraine Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty. Of COURSE he needed Ukrainian help that’s where the corruption occurred. And it was the starting point for the illegal payments to Hunter Biden, which were then circuitously

There is something about this website that locks up my computer, so I will complete this short message in another reply.

But suffice to say the Democrats are making up the rules as they go along. Being a candidate does NOT make one immune from a corruption investigation. And Biden is corrupt.

        Arminius in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 6, 2019 at 8:22 pm

Joe Biden has known his family members have traded on his last name since the 1970s. Practically from the moment he was elected to the Senate in 1973 his brother James began operating a Delaware nightclub called “Seasons Change” which he acquired with unusually generous loans from a Delaware bank. That is, until he defaulted on the loans in 1977.

Sen. Biden publicly asked, “How did the loan manager let things get so bad?”

The banks response was simple. “Because his last name was Biden.”

Clearly there was some sort of threat of retaliation if the bank didn’t play nice with Sen. Biden’s brother.

So, let’s get up to date. Why would a Ukrainian natural gas company hire Hunter Biden for their board? Ostensibly it was for Hunter Biden to assist with regulatory compliance. But Hunter Biden, an admitted drug addict (it’s hard not to admit it when one’s drug abuse is a major factor in a very public divorce, along with overspending on strippers, prostitutes, and hotel rooms to such an extent Hunter’s

        Arminius in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 6, 2019 at 8:41 pm

…now ex-wife had to ask the judge to intervene and take control of the family finances lest Hunter leave them to starve to death. Then after his dad the VP twists the Navy’s arm to let Hunter in as an officer in the USNR JAG Corps he shows up for his first drill weekend and fails the drug test due to cocaine in his system (no doubt the Navy resented the arm-twisting and set up the drug test Hunter’s very first weekend knowing the sh*tbird would fail).

So, why would Burisma hire such a guy? He doesn’t speak Ukrainian. He has never been to the Ukraine, not even when he was on Burisma’s board. IOW it was a no show job (hint, hint). He knows nothing about the natural gas industry. In general he knows nothing about regulatory compliance, and specifically Ukrainian laws and regulations governing the natural gas industry.

Hmm, such a mystery; wonder why? Thankfully we don’t need to wonder as Hunter Biden admitted it in a Good Morning America interview in the middle of last month. He got the job for the same reason he’s gotten every job since he left law school, and the same reason then Sen. Biden’s brother got those sweet, sweet loans. His last name is Biden.

        https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2019/11/emails-reveal-biden-burisma-influence-at-state-department.php

“Hunter Biden and his Ukrainian gas firm colleagues had multiple contacts with the Obama State Department during the 2016 election cycle, including one just a month before Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating his son’s company for corruption, newly released memos show.
During that February 2016 contact, a U.S. representative for Burisma Holdings sought a meeting with Undersecretary of State Catherine A. Novelli to discuss ending the corruption allegations against the Ukrainian firm where Hunter Biden worked as a board member, according to memos obtained under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. …
        ***
HUNTER BIDEN’S NAME WAS, IN FACT, SPECIFICALLY INVOKED by the Burisma representative as a reason the State Department should help, according to a series of email exchanges among U.S. officials trying to arrange the meeting.”

There’s a screenshot of the emails at the link.

Burisma and the oligarch wanted the corruption prosecutor to back off. Which is why they hired Hunter Biden; to gain access.

And they got a great return on their investigation as one month later V.P. Biden strong-armed the Ukrainians to back off, and Obama approved of Biden’s efforts to end the investigation into Burisma (and therefore his son).

Joe Biden makes a lot of noise about how he never talked to Hunter about his business dealings. Of course not. Like a mafia don he uses go-betweens so, he hopes, no one can connect the dots.

Are you actually falling for this? So what if Joe Biden is a political rival? He’s corrupt as hell, and being a candidate is not a shield. Funny how there’s none of that, “No one is above the law” pompous blather we hear from the left when the individual is named Clinton or Biden.

        Then new, just-made-up-for-the-occasion rules apply.

Again, are you really falling for this B.S.?

Arminius in reply to Arminius. | November 6, 2019 at 8:52 pm

In case I really need to spell it out for you. Joe Biden not only has known for over forty years that his family members trade on the Biden name, Sloe Joe also just “accidentally happens” to take exactly the action in whatever position he happens to be in at the time to benefit them the most.

But of course since he never PERSONALLY discusses business with the other grifters in his family it surely can’t be coordinated, can it? Or at least, that’s what he wants you to think.

This is only slightly more sophisticated than the third world where it’s the wife as the cut out accepting the envelopes full of cash.

In the U.S., unlike the third world, in order to make things look more seemly it’s important to create the no-show job as in the case of Hunter Biden. Or like the University of Chicago Hospital creating a new $400k/year no-show job for Michelle Obama when Barack became a state senator. Minority Outreach Officer. A job so important that it wasn’t filled and in fact went away when the Obama’s moved to Washington.

    inspectorudy in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 6, 2019 at 5:03 pm

I don’t see “Setting the stage for a political opponent”. I see a man falsely accused of treason by his opponents and trying to clear his name. He didn’t mention any “Dirt” on Biden but he did mention corruption and the server group Crowdstrike who was the only outfit to declare that Russia hacked the DNC e-mail. When you put his call into the 2016 context, Biden and his son were just corrupt figures involved with Ukraine and that is where a large part of the Russian hoax originated.

    Zardoz in reply to Joe-dallas. | November 7, 2019 at 8:47 am

I agree with you on items B/C/D. However, item A is incorrect. President Trump went after the corruption Biden acknowledged. His son was included because he appeared to be as corrupt as Heldybeast still is. And the insidious aspect of the Heldybeast is that she raised a child. Does anybody think her brat will be as corrupt as her mom?

I’ve got my local paper running Adam Schiff’s “interpretation” of those secret “interviews” and writing opinion columns telling their readers that it’s time to put a stop to Trump, and also that Schiff process was “approved” by a judge.

Fortunately, it appears that a whole lot of America loves its due process of law.

dystopia in reply to Valerie. | November 6, 2019 at 12:37 pm

Since when does a “Judge” have standing to “approve” how Congress conducts its internal business? Each House can make its own rules.

I can think of something which would make me seriously not vote for DJT—running as a Democrat.

Imagine DJT’s stamina, energy, and managerial experience devoted to Obama’s agenda, or Billy Jeff’s life of crime, or the Democrat’s current obsession with the Socialist utopian nightmare. The damage would be severe. What saved the United States in the past was that our villains were not very good at it.

I’m only going to add another two cents about this idiotic business about a perfectly legit phone call to Ukraine.

Morons are tossing around “quid pro quo” as if there is something sinister per se about a quid pro quo. It simply means “something for something. When you sell your house you get cash in return. Something for something. Is anyone here stupid enough to just give your house away for nothing?

When dealing with foreign countries there is always a quid pro quo. We don’t give foreign aid way for nothing; there are always strings attached. In this case, Trump wanted the new Ukrainian president to commit to take the actions he campaigned on; fight corruption. And for a very valid reason; under Obama/Biden the corrupt oligarch, Kolomoyskyi, who is the founder and controlling partner of Burisma through his Privat Group, somehow managed to divert $1.5 billion in U.S. guaranteed taxpayer-guaranteed IMF money to bank he owned in Cyprus; specifically to a bank account he personally controlled (presumably not the same Cypriot bank Burisma used to launder money paid to Biden as no one is that stupid, not even me).

Why, it’s almost like Biden (Obama’s “point man” on Ukrainian policy, presumably so Obama would be further insulated if anything went wrong and he could give his classic, mendacious “I learned about it the same time everyone else did when I saw it on TV” dodge) wanted Hunter’s boss to get the pay-off in gratitude for hiring his loser son. V.P. Biden didn’t ask for any guarantees, and when Ukrainian prosecutors were closing in on the thief Biden got him fired and the Ukrainian government to back off on fighting corruption in general.

That money was supposed to help stabilize Ukraine’s economy. The money Trump temporarily delayed (which was legal; it would only become potentially but not necessarily illegal if Trump delayed it past September 30) was for security assistance. Since the Dems have lied about everything so far expect them to lie and say ANY delay was illegal. They think we’re idiots, and they are certainly right about their own constituents.

But if the money is so vital, shouldn’t we press the Ukrainians to put safeguards in place so it’s actually used for what we theoretically want to be used for? Instead of, you know, ending up in Kolomoyskyi’s Cypriot bank account? The Democrats’ private answer is no, as long as they get their kickback.

Moving on there is literally nothing Trump can do that will prevent me from voting for him. Because the alternative is a Dem who openly despises and hates me. And everything about me from my skin color, my genitalia which I use heterosexually, my religion, my guns, and everything else you can think of. Their howling mad constituents want me destroyed.

That’s an easy choice.

This makes him seem like a cult leader more than a President.

Barry in reply to mrzee. | November 7, 2019 at 11:12 am

    Your name is cultish.

    But you’re not a leader, you’re a lemming.

Arminius in reply to mrzee. | November 7, 2019 at 11:41 am

    You have it backwards, troll.

The left actively hates me as a heterosexual white man and they miss no opportunity to tell me. They hate everything about me from my complexion to my religion to my firearms.

Then there is their idiotic global warming cult. In 1988 these clowns were telling me that within 30 years (by 1988 or earlier, since you probably can’t do math) the “climate emergency” would have the Maldives islands under water.

From the Canberra Times, Monday 26 September 1988:

    https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/102074798

Every single doomsday prediction they’ve come up with over the past fifty years has been wrong. I don’t take my marching orders from some poor, terrorized, brainwashed, and exploited autistic kid from Sweden. Or uneducated, uninformed, shrill children of any kind, even if some of those children like AOC happened to get elected. It’s never happened before, and it won’t happen now. Ironically, considering AOC is from NYC, perhaps the longest continuous tidal measurements happen to come from a station in the Battery in Manhattan.

Sea rise has been steady since the end of the last glaciation. The USG put a tidal gauge at that location in the middle of the 19th century. Sea rise was roughly 2.85mm/yr when Lincoln was President, it was roughly 2.85mm/yr when Teddy Roosevelt was President, 2.85mm/yr when Truman was President, 2.85mm/yr during the Reagan years, and it’s still 2.85mm now under Trump.

Then there’s this toxic mix of open borders and free stuff for all. I’m not volunteering to join THEIR cult nor go quietly and join the socialist collective. When they come for my AR they aren’t getting either. But with Trump as President I don’t need to worry about these lunatics for another four years.

Arminius in reply to Arminius. | November 7, 2019 at 11:46 am

*Both* being my AR (actually I prefer my Springfield Armory M1A but the AR will do) and my wallet so I can pay for “Medicare for All” for illegals.

this is just like all the polls taken after Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopekne. All the Dems still supported him.
What? No polls taken then? Why not?
