Media Beclowns Itself in Stupid ‘Sharpiegate’ Hurricane Feud With Trump

“I was with you all the way Alabama. The Fake News Media was not!”

Once again, the same media types who got the 2016 election completely wrong, and failed to challenge the Obama administration for eight years, are fact-checking Trump into oblivion.

Every perceived Trump mistake is treated with pettiness that borders on vindictive. They are completely unable to admit it when they’re proven wrong.

Trump suggested that Hurricane Dorian may graze Alabama, and the media has tried to make it a referendum on Trump’s character.

This is the Associated Press:

Trump clings to idea Alabama faced big threat from Dorian

President Donald Trump isn’t giving up on the dubious idea that Alabama faced a serious threat from Hurricane Dorian.

During an Oval Office briefing Wednesday, Trump displayed a map of the National Hurricane Center forecast for last Thursday that showed Dorian could track over Florida. The map he displayed included what appeared to be a hand-drawn half-circle that extended the cone of uncertainty over a swath of Alabama.

Trump had raised eyebrows and drawn an emphatic fact check from the National Weather Service on Sunday when he tweeted that Alabama, along with the Carolinas and Georgia, “will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”

The National Weather Service in Birmingham, Alabama, tweeted in response: “Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east.”

According to Newsbusters, CNN and MSNBC devoted 145 minutes of coverage to this.

This screencap from Joe Concha, defines the narrative they’re pursuing:

This screencap shows CNN has its own issues:

Here’s CNN doing a report about how it’s Trump who is obsessed with this, not them:

This tweet from Trump seems to suggest he had a point:

The White House has even released a statement on this:

This reminds me of the time CNN did an exclusive report about how many scoops of ice cream Trump gets. These people completely failed to do their jobs under Obama. Now they’re compensating by obsessing over every stupid little thing under Trump.

I don’t blame Trump for aggressively pushing back. These people are out to get him and they prove it with every absurd outrage cycle.

CNN had a headline running this early morning that Trump had altered the drawing himself. This was at the same time Hurricane Dorian was making landfall in North Carolina. The powers that be at CNN have completely lost their minds.

CNN is a joke, not a news organization. I doubt there are many viewers who purposefully watch CNN. Those who do watch are captives in airports, doctor waiting rooms and the like. No one in their right mind would seriously watch CNN and the fools they hire.

Something, Anything, to distract from the 7 hour Climate Change DISASTER!

I will simply point out that the CNN Climate Crisis Town Hall was such an epic failure, the SJW’s on Twitter were pushing #SharpiePresident and #SharpieGate as trending topics…hoping the public would forget the 7 hour fiasco.

I was completely unaware of this controversy because I didn’t bother to watch the news networks at all.

Legal Insurrection Beclowns Itself in Stupid ‘Sharpiegate’ Hurricane Feud With CNN

“Trump suggested that Hurricane Dorian may graze Alabama, and the media has tried to make it a referendum on Trump’s character.”

Bullshit. Trump warned that Alabama would, and I quote, ‘most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.’ He gave this dire warning four days after the NWS updated their track prediction to remain east of Florida.

And then, in accordance with his character, he double, triple, and quadrupled down on his warning that Alabama was in the path, and in dire straights. Instead of admitting he was mistaken about the path of the storm, he dialed up the feud with ‘fake media.’

The man gave false information, defended his false information, and then lambastes the media reporting on his false information as being somehow ‘fake’.

I think the man still believes Dorian might hit Alabama. He has made no statements to the contrary.

Alabama WAS in the path. Worst case: Alabama was prepared. Worse than Hitler! Get a life will you?

I am no prog. I have been a longtime fan of the site, but the trumpian leg-humping by some of the newer contributors is really disheartening.

      False.

At the time of Trumps tweet, Alabama had not been in any NWS projections for four days.

Interesting article. Thank you for engaging on a more civil level than some of the others around here.

While on first glance, the headline of the article seems to shoot down my position, the body of the story actually backs me up here.

Here’s a couple of relevant quotes from the article:

“The NOAA statement Friday makes no reference to the fact that when Trump tweeted that Alabama was at risk, it was not in the National Hurricane Center’s “cone of uncertainty,” which is where forecasters determine the storm is most likely to track. Alabama also had not appeared in the cone in days earlier, and no Hurricane Center text product ever mentioned the state.”

“Ten days ago, computer model predictions did present a scenario in which Dorian would strike Florida, enter the Gulf of Mexico and potentially affect Alabama. However, by Aug. 29, when the president was briefed by acting NOAA administrator Neil Jacobs, that scenario had become highly unlikely. By Sunday morning, when Trump tweeted about the Alabama threat, no credible computer model showed any risk to the state.”

There’s a lot more in there to unpack about politicizing the weather, but the bottom line… Alabama was at 0 risk from Dorian at the time he said they would likely be hit much harder than expected.

No one should engage commie fools in a civil fashion. No discussion is required. The president was reporting the information given to him.

You are either too stupid to get it or just trying to make an issue from nothing, or both. I’ll go with both.

          Rags junior. Prog. Stupid.

    coolway the idiot.

Trump reported precisely what was projected.

Only a commie can’t understand it. Fools, paid to make stupid comments.

coolway in reply to Barry. | September 6, 2019 at 2:07 pm

      Bullshit.

At the time of trump’s tweet, there were no projections showing any potential impact to alabama.

To this day has not indicated that he was wrong, mistaken, or using outdated info. Basically, he gave false information and won’t admit the truth.

      Because that’s what trump does.

    AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to coolway. | September 6, 2019 at 5:34 pm

I called a “whaambulance” for you. Of course Alabama was in the path, and it’s obviously one of the “57 states with three more to go.”

    Headline CNN:

Trump cures cancer before Biden. Hates doctors.

Today, President Trump announced that the Centers for Disease Control and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland has found a cure for more than 7 types of cancer, including Lymphoma, Breast and Prostrate Cancer, Leukemia, Colon and Rectal cancer, as well as Pancreatic cancer.

This announcement has caused the untimely termination of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Hematologists and Medical Oncologists, Breast Surgeons, as well as hundreds of thousands of cancer specific careers. When asked for comments, Democratic Speaker if the House stated “this is a sad day for medical professionals across the globe. Our tyrannical President has caused so many people their jobs. Now, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse navigators will need to attend other residency and training programs so that they can care for the non-existent patients that Trump so carelessly reduces to his reckless and ill-timed act.”

Presidential Candidate Joe Biden chimed in quickly, saying “when I was Vice President, doctors would call me in the White House asking me for advice on how to perform biopsies, install central lines, and the best way to do lumbar punctures.” He also followed up with “tricycles, because dogs don’t own balloons!”

Does anybody have the shadow of a doubt how the MSM would have reacted if Trump said Alabama was *not* at risk, and then a single hurricane-spawned tornado had wandered through the state, even at the edge?

    Three possibility’s:

    1. Remind everyone the path includes Alabama
    2. Ignore the fact the path includes Alabama
    3. Say nothing at all

    The MSM reaction?
Same for all 3, lies and distortion.

Look Squirrel!

This is all an attempt by the media to cover its own a**. Trump said that Alabama may be hit by Dorian. We do not know exactly what he based this statement upon. The media immediately jumped on him and claim that this was false. So, Trump produces a NHC graphic representation of the predicted track of Dorian, which shows it reaching the center of Florida and the cone of uncertainty extending almost to the Alabama coast. If the track is projected beyond that point, it would intersect the State of Alabama. This proves Trump’s point. So, to deflect from the erroneous inference that Trump was wrong and Dorian was never projected to strike Alabama, the media latches onto a line added to the graphic by an unknown person, possibly the President. This line in no way changes the situation that of the projected track of Dorian continued to the end of the cone and beyond, it would have intersected Alabama. The media’s attempt to bolster their claim that Trump was wrong, by fixating on the added sharpie line, is about as relevant as arguing that he was wrong because he was wearing a red tie. They media expects their viewers to be stupid. Unfortunately, they are not often disappointed.

“The mess boys ate the strawberries.”

The Fake News reminds me of how when we used to go bass fishing all the time. The same fish would rise to the same bait every time. 🙂 Hooked ya! They are both so incredibly stupid.

Being as I was born in Louisiana and raised in Texas, I have followed the paths of many, many hurricanes. Time after time, them suckers will move here, move there, lose strength, gain strength, and pop in someplace nobody expected.

Could Dorian become a second-landfall hurricane like Betsy, Katrina, Erin or Andrew?

Hurricane Dorian a serious Category 3 threat to Florida; Gulf could be next | WeatherTiger
Ryan Truchelut, WeatherTiger Published 8:32 p.m. ET Aug. 28, 2019

That is why we watch them so closely. Smart people on the Gulf don’t wait until the last minute to go shopping.

The hurricane map projects where the *eye* might be. Trump took the furthest projected possibility, and drew an impact area. Alabama was well within the impact area if the *eye* of the hurricane hit the outer zone of the projection cone.

Apples, oranges, and hand grenades.

Drudge has the AP Article out there. I can’t believe how they want to make an issue out of this. If Trump is presenting bad information, it is NOAA’s fault.

The eye of Dorian passed within 2 miles of my house on Hatteras island. As far as I know there is no damage.

As a result of having a 2nd home on a barrier island and because I studied meteorology and climatology at the university, I always watch the storm status.

It’s pathetic, watching the morons trying to claim the president is guilty of disinformation. The information he gave was presented to him by NOAA and NWS. I saw it, I know what they projected early, middle, and late. Even the pathetic boobs at CNN have been caught, actually giving an update including ALABAMA. Those brain surgeons at CNN even displayed a map that had ALABAMA labeled as “MISSISSIPPI”, and then they complain Trump’s geography knowledge is lacking.
