Trump declares Victory after Mueller testimony: “This was a devastating day for the Democrats”
Trump retweets Michael Moore: “All you pundits and moderates and lame Dems who told the public to put their faith in the esteemed Robert Mueller — just STFU from now on”
After Mueller’s testimony today, Trump was ebullient.
He took a victory lap in an almost 20 minute press interaction, and on Twitter.
He was in his element. AP reported:
The president fired off an onslaught of tweets before the back-to-back hearings even began at 8:30 a.m. All told, he tweeted and retweeted more than two dozen times on Mueller’s testimony about his investigation into the president and the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia.
As it ended, Trump tweeted, “TRUTH IS A FORCE OF NATURE!”
Then he strode out of the White House and took a victory lap in front the reporters and cameras assembled on the South Lawn.
“It’s over,” Trump declared. He blasted “the phony cloud” created by the investigation and said, “there was no defense to this ridiculous hoax, this witch hunt.” …
“The performance was obviously not very good. He had a lot of problems,” Trump said, pointing to Mueller’s lack of familiarity with some aspects of the investigation and accusing him of playing favorites. “This was a devastating day for Democrats.”

I knew that this wasn’t going to help the Democrats.
But even in my wildest dreams I didn’t imagine it would be THIS much of a clownshow.
Mueller looked like a pathetic, lost figurehead. He had no idea what his own report said, had to ask them to repeat basic questions (in fact he had them repeat almost EVERY QUESTION), and had to ‘clarify’ his answers multiple times by completely flipping his answer, and outright admitted that he had very little oversight over his team.
It was truly pathetic.
I can’t remember who said it, but it’s true:
For 3 years Democrats have been convinced that this investigation was being lead by Hercule Poirot. Instead it was George Costanza working the Penske file.
It was one of the most pathetic displays I’ve ever seen, this is the single greatest demonstration of what a DISASTER Jeff Sessions was as Attorney General.
I don’t believe for a minute Mueller is THAT incompetent
I think it was more of him trying to stonewall his answers in a way that made him seem as neutral as possible
the AG isn’t Sessions anymore and while Barr may not be the maverick we were all hoping for, it doesn’t seem like the current AG is going to show his tummy for the Democrats
Mueller’s strategy is likely in the shift blaming stage so IF shit starts hitting the fan on the counter-investigation, this will be his first excuse
“I wasn’t aware of such and such…”
but yeah – his testimony backfired big time
You nailed it. Mueller isn’t incompetent at all. He’s a clever lawyer. He wants to appear neutral, and he wants to cover his backside in case the spam hits the fan.
No.I beg to differ. He was a figure head who has been caught, and was still to lethargic to study his own report.
This begs the question: Who was really running the Mueller Team?
I agree with you – I thought he was faking until he got to the softball question from a Dem, meant to bolster his credentials – “Why first appointed you to be a US Attorney?” And Mueller couldnt’ remember that it was Ronald Reagan.
I mean seriously, who can ever forgot the First Big Job they ever got, and how they got it? And yet you could see, Mueller honestly did not remember how he ever became a US Attorney. That’s when I knew he needed to be wearing a white robe sipping a cup of soup in some rest home somewhere.
In all honesty, everyone reading and posting on this blog knows more about the Mueller Report than Robert Mueller himself does.
Agree with every comment up to this point. I would add a couple of points.
1. This confirms how absolutely certain the commies were that Trump would fold or be impeached before it got this far.
2. As Trump kept fighting back, it was hail mary time hoping against hope that Trump’s polls would crumble to eventually lose in 2020. They had gone too far but persisted.
3. And Trump kept getting stronger and stronger as
4. The Dems collapsed into an intra-party civil war on which Trump poured gasoline at the most critical point. He wasn’t going to wait and see how it works out like a RINO squish. He moved in for the kill. Just as he is doing today.
5. This proves to me the value of a leader who sticks to his guns, tells the truth to a multitude of enthusiastic voters and and willing to fight back against the entire world if necessary. That kind of leader can win, especially when he leads a country that holds all of the strong cards.
He certainly didn’t win this by himself. I believe his determination and willingness to fight rallied the people he needed, people who actually could help, by leading the way in winning battle after battle. This proves there really are plenty of people with integrity in government, people willing to take big risks, at least once there is hope for winning. Good people who don’t stand around to allow evil to win.
Keep on tweeting Donald!
I am not so sure about that, and neither are people that have known Mueller over the years, such as Ken Starr. Those that have worked with him in the past are quite taken back.
Does AG Barr have a serious problem? Mueller does work for the DOJ and Barr is head of the DOJ. This was not the Mueller that his long term associates remember. Why? He was Dazed and Confused, No Joke. Why? Has he been like this the entire time? Is this something that happened recently?
AG Barr has questions that must be answered. Is there a medical condition? If so who knew? How does AG Barr inquire discreetly about something like this for one of his most senior employees? How can privacy be maintained after such a public performance?
Was Mueller just asleep at the wheel during this investigation? If so who knew?
These all seem to me serious problems for AG Barr.
And who does Barr work for?
Egad! It’s Trump’s fault! Orange Man Bad!
Mueller no longer works for the DOJ, he has officially resigned, and his position has been terminated as of the close of the investigation. That’s another reason why it was ridiculous for Nadler and Schiff to insist on dragging him back for that clown show yesterday.
That is true. Good answer. Looks like all there is left is to collect scalps through the various investigations.
What an extraordinary Presidency.
AMEN!
And, AMEN!
NOT tired of winning, though all this popcorn is making me FAT!
Mount Rushmore is awaiting.
In true leftist fashion, is Mueller trying to paint himself as a victim of _______________ (fill in the blank) or at least laying a foundation for it? Some of the stupid dems may not aware of the plan, but Mueller does not want to get anywhere near a jail.
I do not trust any leftist. Ever.
Enjoy

The radio news (Fox) stated Trump could not be exonerated for Obstruction and will be charged. ….Half an hour later they played Mueller answering a question. It was obvious Mueller is senile and this hearing was elder abuse. The Democrats and deep State obviously knew this…but not Congress. Clearly Schiff was taken completely by surprise. Nadler was obviously informed, but had dragged his fat belly too far into the trap to get out.
Nadler is malignant toad, and a betrayer of his oath of office.
He won’t live long, anyway. Fat bastards rarely do.
Bam!!!
After this Mueller fiasco, DC Democrats are now chanting, “Send him home”
When Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller as a special prosecutor to investigate “collusion” (conspiracy, actually, I guess) between the Trump campaign and the Russians, I thought, “Good grief! What’s wrong with this dude? Why did he do this?”
I still don’t think he should have appointed a special prosecutor, but his choice of Mueller was, well, not so bad after all! Seeing what a bumbling, forgetful, borderline dementia-afflicted old man we saw testifying before the House Judiciary Committee. How could Rosenstein have expected to do anything beyond “Dick & Jane see Spot run” level of investigation.
mueller was supposed to execute the “insurance policy.’ When it became apparent it would fail and put him (and the gang of angry democrats) in legal jeopardy, he decided on the dementia/Alzheimer’s/failing health tactic. There isn’t much call to send a feeble old man to jail. The worst that will happen now is possibly a tarnished legacy.
As for sending a feeble old man to jail, IMO, if he’s spry enough to do the crime, then he can do the time
Mueller is a crook. And he thinks you are too stupid to understand the most basic part of our justice system, that we are innocent until PROVEN guilty. We do not need to be exonerated as we are innocent.
I will say the democrats are even dumber than I thought. I thought there was no way Mueller would testify, after all, there was no crime and no obstruction, what is the point. The D party members had to know Mueller was a corrupt figurehead for the sham investigation, the “witch hunt”. And they proceeded anyway. Dumbo has more sense than those fools.
Perhaps it’s because I’m a bit of a cynic, but Mueller is the perfect figurehead if you need a unwitting frontman for a biased team of ‘investigators’ out to get someone. Based on what we saw today, he would have been easily kept in the dark and led to the ‘correct’ conclusion. If true, he honestly defended and defends the investigation because he honestly believes it was a fair investigation.
“The person that learned the most about the Mueller Report today, was Bob Mueller”
-Trey Gowdy July 24th, 2019
Isn’t that the truth!
There’s a rumor that Barr is having a gallows built behind the Justice Department building.
Well, I musta missed the show. I only saw about an hour’s worth of testimony right after lunch, with the Democrats trying to stretch the report and Mueller refusing to go along with it. The Repubs did get some good questions in, and Mueller gave them what they needed.
I did not bother to watch, or seek video of, Nancy Pelosi & Co with their wrap-up smear. I don’t have time for that nonsense.
I did see a couple of clips that I watched in real time described in terms that approached postpartum delirium on the part of Trump supporters. I did not see what they said they saw.
The report was a bit over 400 pages, meant to detail all of the leads the team ran down. They came up dry. That was the message, and Mueller stuck to it. Of course he did not write that whole report. That report was a compilation by the team, although he probably went over the executive summary carefully.
In my opinion, it is important to understand that Mueller was not appearing in the role of someone who bore the burden of proving something. He was not trying to put together an evidentiary story. He did not have to worry about constancy. He did not need a comic-book fan’s grasp of all the details of every paragraph to deliver his message, because the investigation came up dry.
It was a huge win for the accused.
“It was a huge win for the accused.”
Valerie,
The useful idiots of the left won’t see it that way. They’ll merely ape what they read or see on CNN or MSNBC:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/24/politics/robert-mueller-testimony-highlights/index.html
https://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/accepting-foreign-intel-is-unethical-unpatriotic-and-in-certain-instances-a-crime-mueller-agrees-with-schiff-64463429792
It’s comically predictable, but mueller’s bombing won’t change a thing for them. We are at war.
“It’s comically predictable, but mueller’s bombing won’t change a thing for them. We are at war.”
I don’t think so. The Dems are now shattered. It absolutely crushes all of their presidential candidates, all aligned with the anti-establishment Commie Squad. It’ll be total Dem disarray in the House AND Senate until 2020. Trump can now begin his “march to the sea”.
No word yet from Romney and his fellow Never-Trumpers.
Winning bigly!!!
“It was a huge win for the accused.”
Not just the accused, this was the death knell for the Bush/Clinton/Obama uniparty. Advantage Republicans. Trump killed three birds with one stone and now the Dems are in total disarray. Republicans have Trump. Dems? More “orange man bad!”? They already lost all of their chips on that gambit. They are utterly broken. I wonder if Romney gets it yet.
“I wonder if Romney gets it yet.” No, he doesn’t.
Well The Donald won “bigly” today. But as always, there’s tomorrow. While the Nadler Schiff part of the Democrat party took it in the chops today, the Squad is still out there with their hair on fire.
Enjoy the lull in battle–but by Saturday the Dems will have their ‘game on again” faces. But it does look like their collective sauce is weak.
I think the next “battle” will be in the Straight of Hormuz or in Hong Kong.
Trump’s hands internationally were just strengthened enormously. Just reading that BoJo is sweeping the decks clean of Remainders in his cabinet. He could have done this two days ago. Was he waiting for the outcome of the Mueller testimony?
Tensions are rising with China and all of our enemies. It is now time for our “friends” to decide which side they are on. Once the UK exits and lands much more softly than the the catastrophe predicted (WTO/US deals), that should embolden other countries to abandon the EU before Germany pulls them all into the new USSR.
The next few days will be interesting. Lots of saber-rattling going on right now but Trump obviously is not bluffing and getting stronger. So is the only real economy on the planet.
Pelosi yesterday in her own frail, confused presser yesterday replying to the very first question: impeachment?
“My position has always been whatever decision we make in that regard would have to be done with our strongest possible hand,” Pelosi said. “And we still have some outstanding matters in the courts. It’s about the Congress, the Constitution, and the courts. And we are fighting the president in the courts.”
So having lost with Plan A, a rigged political investigation that got crushed in Congress, they are going to fight it out in the courts? We just witnessed what happens in the courts in the Oberlin case once the window shades are raised to allow sunshine to pour in.
Okay then, now Trump’s “march to the sea” gets to trample our corrupt court system too. This is a rout Nancy! Move on! Are the Dems now going to nominate Romney as their last dying hope?
Wait until Mueller pulls the Alzheimers’ Card for the sympathy vote – and to deflect Epstein/Arkanicide headlines . . . 3 –2 –1 . . .
Mueller did his job. The president is viable. However, the investigation is just beginning. Obama spied, Clinton colluded, Biden obstructed, DNC denied, and the media prosecuted multi-trimester witch hunts and warlock trials. His role must weigh heavily on his conscience.
Hey Christian Adams….
In reading links from instapundit today, it became clear to me that this wasn’t (just) about covering up Dem spying…. this was about Obama actively attempting election interference at a Federal level. Explosive.
Instapundit linked an article today that linked a July 2017 WaPo article that, if you read it through the right lens, lays out Obama’s intent to create a narrative explaining why Obama and his team were working to generate Federal control of our voting systems.
Remember this is 2017. WaPo is trying to create a narrative that poor Obama was just a good and humble guy trying to protect us from the evil Putin hacking our election systems. Read it in that framework and be forever enlightened as to what actually went down.
