Man Who Allegedly Vandalized Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Custody
Volunteers worked to get the area clean just in time for Memorial Day
A 33-year-old Massachusetts man allegedly responsible for vandalizing the Dorchester Vietnam Veterans Memorial was found by state police and referred to a Boston hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Mass. State Police said the 33-year-old Dorchester man accused of vandalizing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was interviewed by police and sent to a Boston hospital for a mental health evaluation Saturday.
His name is not being released.
“If he is released from the hospital over the weekend he will be returned to police custody and charged with offenses of malicious destruction of property over $250 and tagging. If he is hospitalized for treatment he will be summonsed to Dorchester District Court on those charges at a later date,” said a statement from State Police.
On Thursday, spray-painted graffiti, including swastikas, was found on the stones at the monument. American flags, shrubs, and flowers were also pulled from the ground.
Volunteers were able to clean the area just in time for Memorial Day.
“I think it’s important for us to remember that for the families of the fallen, these memorials these statements about how we will honor and never forget the service, and the sacrifice that they represent is really important,” said Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker.

Kobach explained the current wall ends abruptly and then there’s gap for about half a mile between the end of that wall and Mt. Cristo Rey in New Mexico. Mount Cristo Rey sits on the west side of El Paso. Kris said, “The gap is a half mile wide corridor and it’s literally a parking lot on the Mexican side and then you walk five steps and you are in the parking lot on the American side. There’s no barbed wire. There’s not ANY barrier. You just walk from one parking lot to the other.”

They hope to have it finished by this weekend. It will close the gap.
You know, the best punishment for this guy would be to strip him naked in the summer, and chain him to the monument for ten days. Food would be provided every other day, in dog bowl. During this time, he’s provided with cleaning materials. He doesn’t get unchained until the monument shines.
Based on the article and the content of the graffiti he may actually be a schizophrenic and not a liberal. In which case I feel sorry for him and his family. Schizophrenia is a nightmare one can never wake up from.

I’m a pretty good judge of character. I can generally tell when someone is lying to me.
If somebody really does have a disorder of the mind I’ll let it pass and get him/her help. Because I have to answer to a higher power.
Actually I had to answer to several higher powers. One being the highest.
One lesson I learned from my dad, the sainted USCG Senior Chief, is that loyalty runs down the chain of command as well as up. I never put up with liars and malingerers because some other Sailor has to take up the slack. I had to be loyal to the Sailors (and Marines, I worked with Marines) who were doing the job and I had to s*** can the sailors who were easing by on everybody else’s efforts. And I also knew the Sailors wouldn’t come directly to my because I was an officer. So I had to watch for these things myself.
Right now I’m thinking of one female petty officer. And ladies, don’t get the idea I’m picking on the girls. I was an Intel officer. Your genitalia didn’t matter. I’m rereading “Joe Rochefort’s War” about the commanding officer of HYPO, the code breaking unit that according to Nimitz defeated the Japanese navy at Midway.
We had men who were no loads as well. But it wasn’t an issue getting rid of them. But this was just after the Tail Hook brouhaha and it was received wisdom that the way to get promoted was to upgrade women.
So I had a female petty officer “working” for me. I put working in scare quotes because I don’t recall a single hour she put any work in for me. This was when I was stationed in Japan. I knew what she was up to. She would party in Roppongi, one of the party districts of Tokyo, until four in the morning. Then report to sick call.
It actually takes a lot to get on the bad side of medical. But since I was her watch officer they started calling me and asking, “Is she a malingerer?” I’d tell them that, yeah, she was faking it.
When she did show up for the morning briefing she would make sure to carefully put down her jelly doughnut before pretending to faint.
I kept rating her as, like, less than zero on her evals. My department head kept marking her up to a 4.0 on her evals. Did I mention this was just after Tailhook? When my department head finally go on board with the fact we, the Navy, needed to get rid of her the Command Master Chief had to tell him we couldn’t. Because according to her performance evaluations she was a (blanking) outstanding sailor..
This POS needs a good ass whipping while at the hospital. That might snap him out of it.
