Deputy AG Rosenstein Resigns
“We enforce the law without fear or favor because credible evidence is not partisan, and truth is not determined by opinion polls.”
Monday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein submitted his two-week notice. His last day will be May 11.
More from Reuters:
U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller in May 2017 to investigate links between the Russian government and President Donald Trump’s campaign, said on Monday he was resigning from his post.
Rosenstein’s departure, effective May 11, was not a surprise. He had been expected to step down in March. The White House had no immediate comment, but noted that Trump had already nominated Deputy Transportation Secretary Jeffrey Rosen to replace him.
Rosenstein ended up staying on the job longer to help Attorney General William Barr manage the public release of Mueller’s findings from his 22-month investigation, which was completed on March 22.
In a letter to Trump, Rosenstein echoed two of Trump’s signature phrases, writing that he helped staff the department with officials “devoted to the values that make America great” and adding that “we always put America first.”
Mueller’s investigation did not establish evidence that Trump’s campaign illegally conspired with Moscow.

Maybe he and Lois Lerner can get together and start a firm, or something.
and the “Duke Lacrosse Team” prosecutor, and Kim Foxx, and Saint Trayvon’s killer’s prosecutor.
“We enforce the law without fear or favor because credible evidence is not partisan, and truth is not determined by opinion polls.” Did Rosenstein actually say that with a straight face?
Members of the Deep State learn to lie like that in basic training.

When will his special investigator be assigned?
I believe that assignment was given to Huber 4/3/2018. 😉
Oh, I see Rags is back, down-voting everyone. Hi Rags!
Ruh roh, Raggy.
Rags is like Herpes. it’s always there, dormant, then flares up, subsides, flares up.
“Mission Accomplished”…. as to what one… fill in the blank.
Neither DJT nor Burr has sniped at him on the way out. Trump certainly would have, as part of his standard (and generally successful) “labeling” strategy, if he’d thought Rosenstein was one of his major problems.
I would argue (from my non-legal and non-political position) that refusing to accept Rosenstein’s resignation until the Mueller report was out, summarized, redacted, and given a few weeks to soak in, was a genius idea. The Left can’t (with any degree of reality) make any kind of argument that the report was dinked with by Barr, that the redactions were influenced by the Trump administration, or that the results spelled anything but absolute vindication on the ‘Russian Collusion’ fantasy that the press has been spinning for the last two years.
Of course, nothing stops the frothing leftists from screeching ‘Obstruction of justice!’ like rabid lemurs for the next six years. Mister Evil Two Scoops is viewed as some sort of twisted monster for not laying down and letting the Dems beat on him like a Russian pinata. “How dare he defend himself against our ludicrous charges!”
Rod Rosenstein created the Mueller Mess by one appointing a special prosecutor with no evidence of a crime, two appointing a biased an conflicted Robert Mueller, and three complete failure to supervise Mueller. Having kicked over a bucket of poop, Rosenstein had kept around to help clean up the mess that he created.
Then again (putting the best spin on this) absolutely *nobody* with more than one brain cell can claim the Mueller report is biased in the pro-Trump direction, and therefore a whitewash.
We just spent millions of dollars looking for polar bears in Florida, led by a team of the most pro-bear hunters in the US. End result: no polar bears found.
A lot of people don’t seem to understand that a Deputy Attorney General is supposed to have a poker face and keep his mouth shut about an investigation while it is being conducted.
Perhaps that’s because under the Obama administration, the DAGs leaked like a sprinkler to every press outlet they could find, provided they were leaking against a political opponent.
Get out, swamp denizen. I suspect prison time awaits you in the near future.

Drawandstrike is certain this is the next planned step- Rosenstein can’t prosecute cases where he’ll be a witness. Thomas Wictor and him all laid out the steps a while back- and it seems to be playing out the way they predicted. With Trump and his team feeding misinformation and canary traps to catch leakers and confuse the bad guys.
We’ll soon know.
Jeff Cates aka drawandstrike is a stinky LARP. The day Sesions resigned, Jeff Cates flooded his Twitter feed with re-tweets of junk in order to bury his LARP history.
The LARP re-tweeted thousands of tweets in a matter of hours. It´s as if all his quadrillion of unsealed indictments had been swallowed by a black hole.
Now the phatso is back to his old game.
Well, I can think of things I’d rather have as a birthday present, but at least it beats a dozen pair of socks.
He signed some of the FISA warrants that enabled the Obama administration to spy on literally everyone they wanted to in Trump’s campaign, and later his transition team.
Rosenstein should have been the target of this investigation, not the one in charge of it.
Worst abuse of power in our nation’s history.
He ought to spend the rest of his life in prison for treason.
I’m willing to sit back and wait a bit to make a final judgement on Rosenstein…. In his comments to the Armenian Bar Assoc he says “There is a story about firefighters who found a man on a burning bed. When they asked how the fire started, he replied, “I don’t know. It was on fire when I lay down on it.” I know the feeling.”
The rest of that speech is quite interesting. He married into an Armenian family and opens his speech with some anecdotes drawing comparisons of a socialist country vs Americas rule of law (in spite of all it’s problems).
