Stacey Abrams Rejects Being Joe Biden’s Pre-Named VP: I’m “just as capable of becoming the President”

There has been speculation about Stacey Abrams entering the 2020 race on a ticket with former Vice President Joe Biden as his running mate. During an appearance on The View, she said that’s not going to happen.
Abrams said she is open to anything down the road, but made it clear that if she enters the race for 2020, she’ll do it on her own.

Democratic rising star Stacey Abrams teased her political future during an appearance on “The View” Wednesday saying that “I think you don’t run for second place.”
Her comments and appearance on the show come just after her recent lunch with former Vice President Joe Biden and amid speculation of joining the 2020 fray as his running mate swirl.
“If I’m going to enter a primary, I’m going to enter the primary,” she said on The View during an appearance to promote her new book “Lead from the Outside.” “I do not know if I am running, I am thinking about everything.”
Abrams previously said during a recent speech at Vanderbilt University, she is willing to meet with any candidate running for president in 2020 under two conditions: “My two requirements. One, you have to tell me what you’re going to do about voter suppression. And two, you have to believe Georgia is a swing state.”
In the video below, after they talk 2020, the discussion moves on to Joe Biden’s recent apology over his questioning of Anita Hill. At the end, she confirms that she still doesn’t accept the outcome of the 2018 governor race in Georgia:
On CBS News, Abrams indicated she considers herself a potential presidential candidate:
“I think the success I had in our election… positions me to be just as capable of becoming the President of the United States as anyone running. My responsibility though, is to make sure I’m running for the right reasons and at the right time.”

When it comes to the Biden ticket rumors, one Abrams adviser made it clear that it wasn’t going to happen with some pretty sharp words.

The Democratic primary race continues to produce a fair share of drama, even among candidates who aren’t officially running yet.
Former Vice President Joe Biden is likely to launch a campaign sometime next month, amid rumors that he might pre-select a running mate to spice up his entrance into a crowded field. Rumors are swirling after Biden reportedly met with Stacey Abrams, the Georgia gubernatorial candidate who refuses to admit defeat in the race she lost to Republican Brian Kemp…
Team Abrams, however, is reportedly frustrated by the rumors, not least because they’d like to see more consideration given to the possibly of Abrams running for president herself. Abrams herself has argued race was a factor in the underwhelming media attention she has received compared to former congressman and failed Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke.
When it comes to Biden, some Abrams supporters are said to be concerned about the former vice president’s problematic record on race and criminal justice. One Abrams adviser had some particularly harsh words for Biden in light of his rumored offer to join the ticket as his running mate.
“What makes it particularly exploitative is that Biden couldn’t be bothered to endorse Stacey in the gubernatorial primary,” the adviser told BuzzFeed News. “Now he wants her to save his ass. That’s some serious entitlement.”
That sounds like a definitive no.

The funniest part is that it looks like Biden launched this talk about making her VP without once talking to her about it. He and his people just thought she would be awed by his presence. What a nest of snakes, all of them.
Actually a good move on Biden’s team’s part. They make an innocuous comment and then sit back while she takes herself out of the race with a rebuttal. None of these attention whores have learned the importance of STFU.

Just thinking out loud. I think Abrams will be one of the back-up black options should the Wookie choose not to run in an effort to keep the black vote corralled within the Dem party. But because of the investigations now just starting that will investigate this entire coup attempt, I think the Wookie will run for the same reason Biden is running: the temporary political immunity of political candidates. Trump has two major weapons that give him a yuge advantage: one, he knows he is innocent and two, he has the evidence to prove the corruption of the swamp.

I had to watch this ugly person nightly here in GA during the gubernatorial election and it was an example of the victimhood platform that is now the mantra of the Demorat party. Everything she did or said blamed someone else for the problems. Never once did she accept any responsibility for her back taxes nor huge personal debt. She wanted to count any and every vote no matter the source because she knew that all poor, illegal and minority people would vote for her. But like I said before, almost half of the people voted for her. All of the big metropolitan areas voted for her and that includes huge college campuses. What I/we see and what libs sees in her are two totally different things.
My brother lives in GA and he tells me the GOP is still stuck in that “Georgians are reliable Republican voters” and don’t put much effort into statewide elections. Meanwhile, the Dems have millions of outside money pouring in and growing with each election. And they have a massive GOTV effort. So the chances that Georgia goes more Dem soon are pretty good he thinks. After all, the whole identity politics, America was never great, victimhood tactic serves the GOTV purpose very well all across the U.S. And it’s working better and better in GA, FL, TX. It’s a part of the plan.

The dems have picked up Hillary’s line of “I won if the rules were different, so I won,” and are running with it.
Abrams has picked this up – she didn’t invent it. She should not have. We have a history of mostly peaceful and orderly transitions. If it gets damaged enough, another facet of our country turns banana republic and she isn’t really high enough on the totem pole to avoid the negative fallout of that kind of world.
Also, being a state senator, u.s. rep., isn’t enough to make you Prez material. Much as I identify Biden as THE village idiot, he looks good on paper.
