On Wednesday, President Donald Trump tweeted out an ad that features Luis Bracamontes and pictures of the migrant caravan in Mexico headed to our border. Trump wrote, “It is outrageous what the Democrats are doing to our Country. Vote Republican!”
Bracamontes, a twice-deported Mexican, received the death penalty in 2014 for killing two cops and the video shows him grinning as he says, “I killed f***ing cops.”
The left and the media has called the ad racist, but is it really?

I say no. As Ben Shapiro at The Daily Wire points out:
There’s no evidence that Bracamontes was ever part of a migrant caravan, that the migrant caravan has criminals like Bracamontes, or that there’s really any connection at all between the two stories — other than the broad debate about border security and illegal immigration. Furthermore, Bracamontes is evidence of bipartisan immigration failure: he entered the country during the Clinton era, was deported in 1997, re-entered, and was deported under President Bush in 2001. He then re-entered the country and remained under both Bush and Obama, despite 10 misdemeanor violations between 2003 and 2009.
But if the left and the media SLOWED DOWN and THOUGHT FOR A MINUTE, they’d realize that Trump’s argument is the fact that we do not know WHO is in the migrant caravan. I’ve seen the left and media scream women and children, but videos I’ve watched mostly have adult men with a few women and children sprinkled about.
Granted, Trump went into full blown scare tactic mode and chose a man who committed one of the most heinous crimes. Robert Verbuggen at National Review wrote, “I wonder if part of the thinking behind the ad was to goad liberals into making racism allegations that the GOP base would find ridiculous.”
If you’re going to make an ad to target illegal immigration, why would he use a video of a white man? Of course he used a crime committed by an illegal Mexican to highlight his argument.

It seems to me that when setting public policy that statistics, per ca pita rate of crime, reproductive rates, average IQ and other characteristics of a group should be factors in rather or not people are admitted.
I recognize that Hispanics generally have good work ethics, a desirable trait.
But, the other side of the coin is that our jails are full of Hispanics, a group whose crime rate is second only to blacks. If we counted 20-30 million illegals, their crime rate would be the highest.
I believe that high levels of criminal activity should lead to greatly restricted immigration for the group.
Oh, look, another white Hispanic.

That’s right. Judge a man by his character (e.g. principles, behavior), not color. Diversity is one step forward, two steps back. Three, if you count normalization of color judgments, that are not limited to racism. Diversity is a Pro-Choice policy that is selective, opportunistic, and politically congruent, and denies individual dignity.
“Content of Character not color of skin”…I am pretty sure I have heard something like that somewhere before..hummm.
It’s a corollary of the religious/moral or axiomatic principle of individual dignity, and the low-density information content of incidental features (e.g. color, sex, height, girth).

The left continually show racism, it was spread throughout those leaked DNC emails even, and in this case it is really clear that the actions of this person is what is at fault, not the ethnic background.
Though even with this, why is it racist to want to stop illegal immigration from becoming an ever growing part of our population? Many do not pay taxes, I would venture to say that most do not, as they are either off the books or using a phony SS number. You can claim enough children on your withholdings to void out any taxes withheld, and being that they are ghosts, they can’t be tracked down easily. Yet, their children use our school programs, they can claim benefits like welfare, which they frequently do, because they show zero income.
There are millions of illegals in this country. Tons of money gets sent out of this country from them, they are thieves in the various things they take without belonging to our country, and without paying taxes in large part. I have even heard tales of some who filed taxes and got back money through earned income credits.
The groups that come here include criminal factors, as well as LaRaza, a group that believes parts of the US belong to Mexico. Their intent is to be in place for the revolution which will free the land from the US.
Economic reasons are fine ones to immigrate to a country, however, it should never be allowed by a mob looking to storm our borders. Why should people who force their way into the country – illegally – be allowed to apply for any special status when those coming in legally have to wait years to become citizens?
The left look at these pawns as a new voting block, they need them, and I have no doubt that many voted for Hillary illegally which pushed her popular vote totals higher.
We have rampant voter fraud going on. Obama benefitted well from many places with ridiculous percentages of votes for him, turn out in some places being over 100%, and the illegal community had to aid in those efforts.
This mob is not a caravan. It is an invasion, it is planned, coordinated, and they are looking to force their way into our country illegally. That speaks to their character, they don’t care about our laws, or the laws of Mexico, and that is not what you want in a large group of immigrants. That isn’t racist to call out their character. And you know criminal elements are in that invasion mob.
Our media and the leftist politicians only see a means to gain power. Too bad if they ignore our laws, they are votes for the DNC leftists, and that is all the media and the Democrats see, so name calling and labels are how they attempt to hide what this invasion mob is.

I think all of us here want a good vetting process. I know you well enough to know you don’t want everyone excluded who seeks asylum under US law, just as you don’t want everyone admitted.
The killer referenced in the piece above was never “admitted” into the US. And under no circumstance could we keep all such people from coming here by any means.
We can do much better, however.
The problem with asylum applications is that the vast majority of the people making them are not entitled to asylum. Yet, they have been coached so that they can effectively lie their way through the initial asylum interview. Then, because of the backlog in immigration cases, they end up being released into the interior of the US with a promise to appear in court in the future. Of course 80% of them never appear in court, until apprehended. And, then we are treated to all the sob stories about how this illegal alien had to leave his “family” behind in this country when he is deported.
Unless the asylum seeker is from Mexico or Canada, then they should not be allowed admittance to the US at all, until their asylum claim has been verified. Under UN refugee rules, all of these refugees from nations south of Mexico should have to stay in Mexico, as that country would be a safe haven from political persecution. Now if a refugee should apply for refugee status or asylum with the US, from outside the US, then they can be admitted in accordance with the law. We do it for thousands of people every single year.
There should also be a significant penalty for being caught lying in the asylum intake process. Significant enough to deter people from doing so. It seems to me that would solve at least 90% of this problem.
Immigration reform, in lieu of emigration reform, motivated by Democratic gerrymandering, redistributive change, diversity, and labor arbitrage.
We must stop illegal immigration. Borrowing from Joe Biden: “…if there’s even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try.”
The truth is an absolute defense against anything..even racism.
