Maxine Waters Supporters Burn American Flag, Scream ‘Black Power’ in Counter Protest
“America was never great.”
The Oath Keepers planned a protest outside of the congressional office of Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on Monday. She complained and told her supporters not to engage with them.
The group did not show up, but her supporters did. They burned an American flag and chanted “black power” in their counter protest.
Police officers went to the scene in order to ensure security, but those in contact with Oath Keepers said the group “decided not to come in order to ensure peace.”
That did not stop her supporters. From The Los Angeles Times:
“We’re here to defend our community and the members of our union against the hostile threat of this violent organization that’s coming into our neighborhood with an agenda that is opposed to our interests,” said union organizer Cliff Smith. He said he and his group would not be “baited into confrontations.”
A number of protesters remained near the intersection of 102nd Street and Broadway long after police announced the Oath Keepers were no-shows. For much of this time, the mood remained festive, although it was punctuated with moments of tension.
At one point, counterprotesters pulled a small American flag off of a pickup, doused it in lighter fluid and set it ablaze. The crowd then began chanting, cursing the government and saying, “America was never great.”
Other people screamed “Black power” and held “Resist!” signs.

Pastor Cue Jnmarie attended the protest. He told the LA Times he wouldn’t have chosen to burn the flag, “but people should be able to choose how they express themselves.”
As much as I hate burning flags I also believe in free speech and if you want to burn the flag then go ahead. I’ll know not to associate with you.
Jnmarie stepped in and helped break up “scuffles between counterprotesters and those suspected of supporting Trump.” He said he knew the Oath Keepers wanted “to intimidate and to bully” others. Of course he blamed Trump and claimed the president “clearly called for violence during his campaign.”
Jnmarie seems to forget that only last month “Auntie Maxine,” the nickname given to her by her constituents, encouraged her supporters that if you see anyone in Trump’s administration out in public “you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
Waters also went on MSNBC and went more in depth about her message:
I have no sympathy for these people that are in this administration who know it’s wrong for what they’re doing on so many fronts. They tend to not want to confront this president or even leave, but they know what they’re doing is wrong. I want to tell you, these members of his cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they won’t be able to go to a restaurant, they won’t be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store. The people are going to turn on them.
They’re going to protest. They’re absolutely going to harass them until they decide that they’re going to tell the president, ‘No, I can’t hang with you.’ This is wrong. This is unconscionable. We can’t keep doing this to children.

Oath Keepers got both Waters and Waters’ supporters to look like idiots on national TV. I think it went very well, and probably as planned.
Waters is a gift that keeps giving.

If there was any doubt about the orders of the LAPD officers there the events (getting ‘physical’ with strangers, stealing from bystanders, starting a fire in the street) should remove them. Like Seattle, Portland, Berkeley, Baltimore, Charlottesville, and Oakland the police are there to both protect the violent Democrats/leftists as well as ensure as much violence as possible is perpetrated on anyone daring to speak out.
The sad part is: there are still a whiole lot of conservatives / patriots that think the cops are on their sidee. They aren’t. They folow orders. Following orders keeps the family fed, the benefits coming in, the pension one day closer.
If we do indeed end up in a civil war, the police will come to the aid of those they are ordered to help, and due to polticial considerations, that will likely not be you. I include LEO members of Oath Keepers unless they are retirees.
According to other reports, the police warned the Oath Keepers that they would withdraw rather than interfere with Maxine’s little terrorist army.

That’s not true. In recent decades, there were the Hutu and Tutsi. Before the regime change in South Africa, there was a Fatah/Hamas dynamic between competing black tribes.
I take it you never hunted in Africa. I’ll just tell you about the trackers I hunted with in Zimbabwe where I killed my first and last elephant.
No doubt I should get this out of the way first. It wasn’t a trophy hunt. It was a problem animal control, or PAC hunt. In my case I hunted a group of three young bulls who were literally eating some subsistence farmers along the Omay river out of hearth and home. A single elephant can eat a year’s worth of crops in a night. And there were three, night after night.
Zim has game rangers that are supposed to deal with these varmints. They also have tribal rangers. I was hunting in a tribal area. The problem is that none of their rangers are really any good. They are as brave as honey badgers but they simply are underfunded and elephant rounds cost a lot of money. So they aren’t practiced enough to be good shots. Typically they only provided with enough rounds to use in extremis and none for practice.
What usually happens is in the dark of night they hear the elephants gorging on the corn, so they wade into the field and shut their eyes, shoot, drop their rifles and run. I don’t blame them. An elephant is a scary thing. I sailed in aircraft carriers but I swear that when I got within twenty yards of my bull it was the biggest thing I’ve eve seen in my life. And he was a teen ager, elephant wise.
You might think an elephant is a big target, but actually there are really only two places you can shoot an elephant and kill it. The heart. Actually it’s best to shoot just above the heart and hit the arteries because if you if you shoot the heart the wound will close up and the animal may go a hundred miles before it bleeds out. But the arteries are not so elastic. The other is the brain. But both are small targets. Imagine trying to hit the last olive in the jar in the back seat of a VW as it is coming at you.
If you shoot an elephant anywhere else it will heal. And have a really nasty attitude about people. Because the rangers were lousy shots Zim had a lot of elephants with bad ‘tudes, so they allowed foreign hunters to come in and hunt them. The week before I arrived a man and elephant met along a road. The man was a little drunk, having been hanging out at the shabeen (combination liquor store and bar). I don’t know if that made a difference. The elephant didn’t even break stride he just wrapped his trunk around the man’s ankles and beat him to death on the road. And when I say beat, I mean he atomized the poor guy. There was nothing left except a bloody patch of dirt and his bloody jeans in the brush next to the road where the elephant tossed it as he went on his way.
I don’t know if the elephant I killed was the same one. I don’t think it really matters. If it wasn’t that elephant, the bull I killed would have killed someone eventually. He was aggressive. He and his two friends were also smart. You do not want to track an elephant for 100 miles as they can walk faster than you run. So eventually I got tired of tracking him and his buddies only to never get within range before dark. So I suggested to my PH that we just spend the night in the village so we could get on the trail at first light.
Boy, were those villagers angry at me. Because unlike their rangers I’m not wading into a corn field on a moonless night and shooting at an elephant I can’t see. They were yelling at me to shoot the damned elephant (rural Africans have an entirely different opinion about animals than suburban American or European soccer moms; when they heard a dentist from Minnesota shot Cecil the lion their reaction was, “Great! It’s about time.”) So not being suicidal I waited until morning as the Africans fumed and listened to their crop getting destroyed.
And the next morning I killed the elephant. The proper way a PAC hunt works is that the villagers get the meat. And why not? It was their corn that put the tonnage on him. The government gets the hide and tusks. Unfortunately some of the foreign hunters abused the privilege and shot trophy bulls (my bull was not a trophy but a young adult and its tusks weighed much, much less than 25 pounds). Which is why it was my first and last elephant. I’m not paying the six figure trophy fee. And even if I could afford it the countries that allow trophy hunting for elephants are all corrupt.
There was a vendor at the Johannesburg airport selling t-shirts with Robert Mugabe’s picture and said “Rob Mugabe!” On the back it said, “Before he robs you.”
But to the point. Keilani, the Shona, and Nyati, the Zulu. Nyati wasn’t his real name. It was the name he went by, the name of his totem animal, the Cape Buffalo. They were two of the bravest men I ever met.
After I got the elephant my girlfriend and I were just tourists, although I did kill an impala when a local chief asked me because they had an upcoming holiday and were throwing a BBQ. One day we saw a large herd of elephants on the other side of the river from camp. They were all females and most of them had young. So, despite my disclaimers about not being stupid enough to wade into a cornfield after three bulls we decided to go take a closer look. We waded right into the middle of the herd. If you know anything at all about elephants you know the cows are fanatically protective about their calves. They have no sense of humor at all
And Keilani and Nyati both turn to my girlfriend and tell her, “Don’t worry, we’ll protect you.” I’m carrying a .375 H&H. My PH is carrying a .416 Remington. And the trackers, unarmed except for their skinning knives, are telling my girlfriend that THEY will protect her.
And nobody doubted them.

Oh, I beg to differ. At the very time the crowd was hurling insults an desecrating our flag is actually a time when the greatness of living in America was revealed. There are any number of countries in which those in the crowd would now be in jail. The freedom they have is one which I think they take for granted.

My Cuban, Polish, and Vietnamese friends were gobsmacked. The fact that they could publicly do that meant they were not in fact afraid of George Bush. In 2010 I campaigned for Pastor Stephen Broden against Eddie Bernice Johnson in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. I thought he had a fighting chance because the news had just come out that Johnson was using the CBC scholarship fund that was supposed to be for the benefit of her constituency as her own personal slush fund. She was using the money to send her own grandkids to college, and the children of her staffers.
You would think that her constituents, largely black and poor, would have been ticked off about that. And besides, Pastor Broden founded the Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church in the late ’80s and then founded an associated charity in Oak Cliff. You would think he’s built up a lot of good will.
And BTW he’s black like Eddie Bernice Johnson and the majority of her constituents.
I suppose he has built up a lot of good will. But campaigning for him was the worst possible thing I could have done. I was knocking on doors for him and I was outside the polling station on election day (staying the requisite distance away from the door of the polling station) holding signs in support of him. And Eddie Bernice Johnson won in a landslide. Basically the reaction was since I am white, and all whites are racist, then if the Klan is supporting one candidate they were going to vote for the other one.
My black friends who have escaped from the plantation have explained the mentality. Race baiters like Sharpton and Jackson have infected the American black community with a siege mentality. Which is why, to pick a more recent example, Kanye West caught hell for pointing out that we ended slavery over 160 years ago. And if people still have a slave mentality that’s their choice. Sharpton and Jackson and their ilk make a rich living by maintaining that slave mentality.
I knew some of the members of 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, the Oakland Kali chapter of 100 Black men of America. They are all successful businessmen who try to improve the quality of life for black Americans. And even they are amazed at the mentality of many, perhaps most, black Americans. For instance, a great many of black teenagers will not do certain jobs that white or hispanic teenagers will happily accept. And the reasoning goes, “WE don’t have to do those jobs because WE did those jobs when WE were slaves.”
It’s why, for instance, you don’t see many black farm workers.
But who talks like that? What’s this WE stuff? The people talking like this have never been slaves. Their great grandparents weren’t slaves. Yet they talk as if slavery just ended last week. And they are really traumatized by slavery, as if they went through it themselves. It’s mind boggling, even to the black businessmen that I know.
Well, not all of them. I know (but am not friends with) a few hard left black businessmen. I was drinking at the bar with a friend of mine at Scott’s Seafood in Jack London Square. There was a loud, wealthy black man telling the bartenders how America is the most racist country in the world and black people were starving in west Oakland.
After listening to the man mouth off for about five minutes I had had enough. First of all, never be mean to children or your wait staff. They can’t fight back. Second, after spending a few years in the Navy I have seen real poverty. Real poverty is when you live in a tin shack with one naked light bulb and the proprietor makes his living scrounging in the local dump and is really proud to offer you THE chair to sit on.
People in west Oakland have satellite dishes, two or more TV sets, and a few cars. Sure, they may not be the kind of cars you or I might want to drive. But the kids in Panama or the Philippines playing naked in the rive their stilt hovel is perched over would drop dead from shear joy if their parents drove one home. And the black kids are much more likely to die from obesity than starvation. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of children who do go hungry. But it isn’t because their parents don’t have the money to feed them, they just spend their money on other things. Like nail parlors, hair salons, cell phones, meth (and I’m thinking of a white woman here, whose child has to go to mom’s ex-husband if she wants to eat).
So I tell the man if he thinks America is the most racist country in the world that just means he’s never been abroad. I point out he has a lot more money than I did. And he sure as hell doesn’t know what real poverty looks like. And I challenge him to go with me right then and there and show me the starvation-level poverty he claims is rampant in the black community. And my friend was then an editor for the SF Chronicle. He tells the guy that if what he’s saying is true, he’ll make sure it’s in the paper the next day. So let’s go look.

Anyway, thirteen term Eddie Bernice Johnson is still screwing over her constituents. And there’s a reason for that. I read a study that showed the average white woman 36-45 has a net worth of $40K. The average black/hispanic woman has a net worth of $5. So they’re one McDonald’s happy meal away from being broke. I emphasize it isn’t that they don’t have money coming in. Poor people are poor not for a lack of money but because they’re no damned good with money. It’s why you keep hearing about winners of lotteries, or as I like to put it The Redneck Retirement Plan, going broke because they spent it all on strippers. There are lottery winners who can handle the money but they don’t tend to make the news.
So when CBC members like Eddie Bernice Johnson or Sheila Jackson Lee host a pizza party on election day it’s a big deal. A free slice of pizza and a can of Coke! It costs so little it doesn’t cross the threshold of bribery. Then after everyone is done eating they stroll across the street to polling station to vote for their benefactor. You or I wouldn’t sell our votes for $2 but Lee and Johnson know this. So they keep their constituents poor and dependent. And poison their minds with nonsense about racist America. And how do I know it’s nonsense. Because African immigrants 1) keep coming to America and 2) do better economically than black Americans. In fact, black Immigrants from South Africa on average do better financially than average white Americans. Because their minds haven’t been poisoned.
Who talks like that? Jews. WE were slaves in Egypt, until 3328 years ago.
