Yet some so quickly forget, nor count the cost of their freedoms. Well done, Branco, well done.

John McCrae, 1872 – 1918

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead; short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe!
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high!
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A great cartoon from a great cartoonist honoring the great and wonderful men and women who gave their all that we can remain free.

Thank you A.F. Branco for all you do in that effort.

Was it Memorial Day speeches where Obama referred to the “corpse-men” and Biden wanted the wheelchair-bound vet to stand up?

Today, before I cook out with my wife and kids, I’ll remember my brothers who will never enjoy another long weekend:
SGT Jacob Butler, SPC Larry Brown, MSG William Payne, 1LT Jonathon Rozier, SPC Simeon Hunts, PV2 Jonathan Falaniko, SPC Irving Medina, CPT James Shull, PFC Luis Moreno, CPT Robert Yllescas, LTC Paul Finken and LTC James Walton.

TY Mr. Branco, fitting and proper.

I visited the local Veterans’ Cemetery this morning, where the remains of three of my relatives are resting in peace. There, those of us who remember honored the fallen. It is always a special feeling, to see the flags and flowers that show that the fallen are remembered with love and respect.

Of course, having paid tribute to my loved ones, I will soon fire up the grill for the second part of Memorial Day — a FAR second in importance.
