While it isn’t a new strategy, it seems as if the left has recently been ratcheting up its utilization of the stonewalling tactic when confronted by high profile controversy.
Elizabeth Warren, who continues to show no signs of ever engaging in an honest discussion with the public about her bogus claims to Cherokee ancestry, isn’t the only one who is wishing that sticking one’s head in the sand would make the bad questions go away. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is also facing strong criticism for not being forthcoming about the role of the Department of Justice in the Fast and Furious scandal.
According to the Daily Caller, California Representative Tom McClintock has now become the 129th member of the House of Representatives to have signed a “no confidence” resolution in Eric Holder, demanded the Attorney General’s resignation, or both.
Holder has demonstrably failed to comply with all 22 parts of a congressional subpoena that House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa served him last October. With respect to 13 of the subpoena’s categories, Holder has provided no documents. He is not fully compliant with the subpoena’s other sections, either.
Holder may soon be held in contempt of Congress if he continues failing to comply with the subpoena. House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy joined Issa’s efforts to force Holder to comply with the subpoena recently.
In a phone interview Friday morning, Gosar said the possibility of contempt proceedings against Holder remains – although he and many others want the proceedings to happen faster.
“A number of us are frustrated,” Gosar told The Daily Caller. “After Deputy Attorney General [James] Cole’s comments last week [claims that the DOJ has cooperated with the investigation], my comment was ‘let’s get this on.’ Let’s start going forward with contempt charges. I even asked for it to be done this week, or yesterday, or as early as next week.”
Just as Warren’s stonewalling has begun to slowly erode her support, I suspect too that Holder will soon suffer similar troubles.
Warren and Holder may have to learn the hard way that ignoring a controversy won’t make it go away. If they keep stonewalling, people will just keep digging.

Warren may fall eventually but I don’t see Holder leaving. He knows where the skeletons are buried.
Actually, ignoring controversy DOES make it go away, for democrats, most of the time. It’s not working with Fast & Furious because, unlike other disgusting scandals (such as throwing away the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case), this one got a good man killed.
People are exceptionally angry about this one, so it continues to simmer. Personally, I don’t think Holder’s resignation is nearly enough. I think there are people (probably including Holder) who should go to prison over Fast and Furious.

Being both familiars of the Chicago school of naked power politics, I am surmising that the Obama-Holder alliance considers itself strong enough, and with sufficient depth of support (from other members of Congress, high gov’t officials and the media, to begin with) to simply brazen their way to the next election.
Question: if the House does launch a contempt resolution – let alone an impeachment – how soon will it be concluded? And what teeth would it have to compel compliance with the supoenas for documents? Five months seems a short interval to reach conclusions, let alone fully comply with document production, considering the players.
I would be surprised if anyone is successful moving against Holder before the election.

Well, it’s obvious. During that incestuous dinner attended by politicians and press where Jimmy Kimmel joked about Fast & Furious … few of the guests understood what he was referring to, so it fell flat.
That’s both sad and scary. They should cancel that obnoxious event.
It usually does go away, to media purgatory and they hope, lower still quickly. The progtard media controls 80% of the media at least. The WH/DNC coordinate with them as was so plainly displayed in both the Fluck/abortion and Romney/bully episodes recently. So if a topic arises that they want to go away NOW, they clam up, hoping lack of oxygen will put it out. Same thing on the progsites. I hang in the comments at MoJo (as neills) and frequently skunk them — and their response is to go absolutely silent. Part of the prog playbook, apparently. With their stranglehold on the media, it’s pretty darn effective (if exceedingly frustrating) strategy.
Nobody needs another reason to vote Obama out of office than Eric Holder.

At one time, the Free Press have exposed these two issues to the public, who would have reacted accordingly. That’s why The Left has turned the Fourth Estate into a willing Fifth Column, compliantly allowing the Obama administration to hide these things from wide scrutiny.
Training other branches of government can be likened to training a dog to submit to the ‘pack’s leader’. Instead of the House leadership exercising their rightful authority, they’ve submitted to BHO/Holder’s intimidation/barking. Now the only course that remains is for the actual ‘big dog’ we the voter to do the right thing and through the SOBs out.
Yes our 5th column press supports the BHO/Holder cabal. Time and technology, if we have that luxury, will slowly eviscerate the 5th column. Do we have said time/technology, & will to do what must be done to save our constitution?

I will still throw out a bit of speculation, a hypothetical if you will.

That, and 5 dollars will buy you a cup of coffee in DC. If, and when, the regime advises the Congress to engage in coprophagia and lycanthropy as a response to the vote; what counter will they have? They already ignore subpoenas. Congress cannot do anything with the budget; based on both time constraints before the election, and the small detail that we have not had a constitutional budget for 3 1/2 years and have been promised by the Democrats that they will not break their streak this year.
Impeachment? With the media backing the Democrats during an election campaign and an Institutional Republican leadership whose normal follow up to temporary acts of defiance is to roll over and expose their bellies, that ain’t gonna happen.
Just do not expect or depend on the Institutionals to defend the country from tyranny. That would involve agreeing with those icky Patriots.

Boehner is just another political hack. He will do what is best fir Boehner and screw the Country.
He needs to grow a pair and get on with the Contempt of Congress against Holder and subpoena Obama to testify about his involvement in Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Lightsquared, New Black Panther Party and all of the other scandals. There are so many, I can’t remember them all.
Keep this stuff on the front burner and let it fester. Ultimately the ABC’s will get on board or be co-opted by not reporting these scandals.
I hope they keep right on stonewalling until November.
