Twitter Bans Marsha Blackburn’s Campaign Announcement Video for Discussing PP Sale of Baby Body Parts
“deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction”
Heaven forbid we have a factual discussion about a government subsidized entity which was under Congressional investigation for selling baby body parts, that might be offensive! Or at least that was Twitter’s take.
Marsha Blackburn, Republican running to replace Corker’s soon to be vacated Senate seat in Tennessee found her campaign announcement video banned on Twitter.
Why? For one sentence discussing Planned Parenthood’s sale of baby body parts.
If Blackburn wants to remove the line saying she “stopped the sale of baby body parts”, then, says Twitter, they’ll be glad to reinstate the video.
The AP reports:
Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s Senate campaign announcement ad has been blocked by Twitter over a statement the abortion rights opponent makes about the sale of fetal tissue for medical research.
Blackburn, who is running for the seat being opened by the retirement of Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, boasts in the ad that she “stopped the sale of baby body parts.” A Twitter representative told the candidate’s vendors on Monday that the statement was “deemed an inflammatory statement that is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction.
Twitter said the Blackburn campaign would be allowed to run the rest of the video if the flagged statement is omitted. While the decision keeps Blackburn from paying to promote the video on Twitter, it doesn’t keep it from being linked from YouTube and other platforms.
Blackburn took to Twitter to urge supporters to re-post her video and join her in “standing up to Silicon Valley.”
Blackburn was the chair of a Republican-run House panel created to investigate Planned Parenthood and the world of fetal tissue research that earlier this year urged Congress to halt federal payments to the women’s health organization.
Glorify celebrities who shill for Planned Parenthood, protect “hate speech” (their phrase, not mine) directed at conservatives and conservatism, verify white supremacists and trolls, but by all means, ban the politician discussing Planned Parenthood’s underbelly.
[Insert “hope they’re ready for Trump 2020!” diatribe here. What a bunch of sorry censoring good-for-nothings, grumble grumble.]

I’d vote for her, and I will donate some money to her campaign.
Once. We’ll see after that…
She’s off to a good start!
You GO, girl!
Like many information industry leaders that gain value from breadth of connectedness, Twitter is a natural monopoly, a little niche monopoly but a natural monopoly nevertheless. As such it should be regulated under anti-trust laws to require that it serve the public interest, most basically as a public carrier.
Even non-monopoly public carriers must serve the entire public. Monopoly carriers face more stringent requirements and can certainly be barred under existing anti-trust law from censoring speech so as to suppress the speech of political opponents.
That would open the door to government censorship, which would be even worse.
Twitter has long suffered the NFL disease. And both are vulnerable—NFL for its taxpayer subsidies and antitrust protection and Twitter to federal regulation.
Robber barons have a whole new face.
Did her a huge favor. 100 times more people will see it now.
I fail to see what is wrong with inflammation of the people over the murder and dismemberment of babies?
The sacrifice of innocent babies is a Holy Sacrament to the left. They cannot bear to see it questioned.
Celebrate Planned Parenthood’s service of one million babies.
Honor the PP flag and the progress it represents.
Lives deemed unworthy, inconvenient, and profitable.
That said, to arm those who have been disarmed.
It’s a start.
To give a voice to a voiceless minority.
Baby Lives Matter
Yes, we really are at the point where the TRUTH IS OFFENSIVE !
The TRUTH, the lowering of the privacy veil, marked the beginning of the end of the National Socialist regime, and, today, perhaps the beginning of the end of the neo-Democratic Socialist regime.
IANAL (sooo NAL!), but couldn’t a clever attorney twist this into a violation of FEC rules?
I’ve always been of the opinion that the huge advances on Democrat memoirs are nothing but campaign contributions.

I don’t see how. Twitter is under no obligation to allow the promotion of this video just because it happens to be a campaign ad.
Remember the NFL wouldn’t allow Rush to be owner because he was too controversial and inflammatory.
Nearly everything associated with the internet, like the overwhelming majority of the news industry, is owned and operated by radical leftists — and they censor and distort content to reflect their political preferences. It would take different ownership to change the policy, or so many customers cancelling their accounts that they would be forced to change to stay in business.
