7:17 p.m. – Percentage reporting keeps rising, but vote split doesn’t. Hearing on Twitter that Mourdock trounced Lugar in South Bend and doing well in early counting in Marion (Indy).
The polls close at 6 p.m. Eastern. Official results at Indiana Secretary of State. AP Results page here. (added) Because some precincts are in Central time zone, networks will not project winner until 7 p.m. Eastern at earliest.
A local television station has a “live” blog, not exactly live but hopefully some local analysis to help understand the results as they come in.

Indiana had early voting for over 2 weeks. Polls opened a 6 am.. People had plenty of opportunity to vote if they wanted to.

No second chances in Indiana. It’s against the law. Lugar tried to tell that to a Cincinnati TV station, but they interpreted his answer to be that he wouldn’t run as an independent.
I apologize to Lugar. In the end, he conceded like a gentleman.
I don’t get Sabato’s “Crystal Ball”. Indiana is a pretty red state, the govt, the legislature is red, how is this even a “lean R”?
I would assume that Murdock is going to be win in the senate race in the general, is that assumption wrong?
I give credit to Lugar, he was very gracious in his concession speech, especially the part about a republican in the WH. Good on him.

Most reading this blog probablyh know, but if someone doesn’t Lugar who lives in VA. Lugar has no home in Indiana. His only property tie to Indiana is he’s a partial owner of a few hundred acres of farmland there.
In other words he is, or rather was, an 80 year old professional Senator who is out of touch with the issues people from Indiana face.
I think Larry is very naughty & will be inserting Chrystal Ball (& her dildo ) into more than the odd tweet in 2012.

I wonder if Lugar will do the honorable thing and endorse and campaign for Mourdock? Seems to me I remember that every Tea Party challenger that lost, immediatly endorsed the winner in the 2010 races. Can’t recall a single RINO that lost and went on to endorse the Tea Party endorsed winner. There’s no doubt in my mind that we would have control of the Senate if they had, instead of taking their ball and leaving because they lost.
