Q Poll – Hillary Would Trounce de Blasio in NYC Mayor Race

The nightmare casting has begun.
Fresh off her second failed presidential bid, and Hillary’s chances at running New York City are being weighed.
A Quinnipiac poll released today tested a hypothetical Hillary mayoral race against that of incumbent, Mayor Bill de Blasio. Several other local politicians were thrown into the mix for fun.
In this fictitious showdown, Hillary leads de Blasio 49 to 30 percent. 49% say the mayor “does not deserve re-election.”:
While he tops possible challengers in a hypothetical Democratic primary, de Blasio falls short of the 40 percent needed to avoid a primary run-off. And former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn or City Comptroller Scott Stringer would be serious challengers running as independent candidates in a general election face-off.
Results for a hypothetical Democratic primary show:
De Blasio – 35 percent;
Former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn – 11 percent;
City Comptroller Scott Stringer – 9 percent;
U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries – 8 percent;
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. – 5 percent;
State Sen. Tony Avella – 1 percent.“New Yorkers aren’t in love with Mayor Bill de Blasio, but they seem to like him better than other possible choices – except Hillary Clinton, who probably is an impossible choice,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
“None of the possible contenders has made any real noise or spent any money, so this race still could get interesting.”
If Hillary does decide to run for office again, New York City voters (except for Staten Island) seem open to the possibility. Or at least they do in this dream poll.

Ten weeks ago we all learned a lesson about the polls.
And that lesson was not that the polls about Hillary’s political future are as reliable as the tides.
Yes. I saved the results of the last Quinnipiac poll before the general election. They were abysmally wrong on federal and state elections.
Hillary would trounce de Blasio, no doubt, but would have a very difficult time against Kemberlee Kaye.

Please let Hillary run and win…. NYC will remind the rest of the country why elections have consequences and how fortunate the country was to NOT have elected her last November. Sometimes a great city is expendable to prove a point. Coventry was sacrificed to keep the Enigma secret, NYC to prove the failures of Progressive politics and Clintonism.
She would make an excellent mayor of New Caracas.

The Wicked Witch of Chappaqua will jump at the chance to stay relevant. The Mayor of New York City (the very center of the Universe) has a national focus. She would use the opportunity to promote herself in a different light and even show how well she could govern.
Of course, NYC is in deep financial do-do, has new municipal contracts coming do (let the strikes begin) and is in the center of the Al-Queda/ISIS bullseye. Run Hillary Run!

Wouldn’t that be funny if she failed to get elected as president twice and also failed to even be elected as a mayor? Perhaps dog catcher of Little Rock would be a more fitting elected office for her…
There’s no reason for her to run. It’s a miserably difficult job and a step down for her.
But plenty of opportunities for corruption and creating a new charity to replace the CGI.
And just think of all the great positions Chelsea could have.
This will never happen. I grew up in NYC. Being Mayor is a brutal, 24/7/365, thankless job. It’s all dirty local politics, unions, garbage strikes, police issues, utility headaches, etc., etc. You have no friends, even allies will stab you in the back over petty, regional stuff. Ed Koch could barely handle it and he was a master politician. No way would she be able to handle 1/2 the responsibility. Crash and Burn, Hillary!

Gracie Mansion is walking distance to the Federal Courts; seeing everyone and their uncle beating up mayor Hillary and then seeing her on trial is not quite the Mets v Yankees series of every New Yorker’s dreams but something that would nonetheless be entertaining.
Would it provide enough political influence to restart donations to the Clinton Foundation?
Hillary and NYC deserve each other. Let her become mayor so that the rest of the nation can see the bullet they dodged.
