Does this supposed scholar have any evidence of Christians shooting up gay nightclubs or malls? How about bombing plots? Anything?

Northwestern U. scholar: Christian fundamentalism ‘more dangerous’ than Islamic terrorism
“Humanist” scholar Catherine M. Wallace of Northwestern University told the Seminary Co-op near the University of Chicago that “the Christian fundamentalist movement in the United States is more dangerous than Islamic terrorism.”
This is because “fundamentalist access to United States armaments is the number one threat to state security,” she says in The Chicago Maroon.
“If [anything Islamic] wanted to attack an American city, they had to hijack an airliner. If they want to blow up a concert, they need to put bombs on their own children and send young men in to kill themselves…that kind of radicalism [Christian fundamentalism] in control of nuclear codes was a much, much greater threat.”
Wallace contends contemporary Christian fundamentalism has its basis in the “transparently racist appeal” of (Southern) opposition to desegregation and the Civil Rights movement.

She only serves to betray her fundamental (pun intended) ignorance concerning Christianity. May I suggest that she read some C.S. Lewis? (She probably thinks that The Chronicles of Narnia is merely (pun intended) a collection of children’s stories.)
We’ve abandoned scholarship in favor of opinion…and uninformed at that. Western civilization is done. Hopefully, some monks in caves will keep records, so when humanity returns to its senses, we can pick up where we left off.

Yes, I know. This verse is in a context of those who might lead the “little ones” astray from believing and having faith in Jesus. However, it seems fitting to me when thinking of Wallace.
It’s an honor, a privilege really, to study with people, to explore, to discuss, to have those “lightbulb” moments whereby learning can be such a joy!. It’s not simply shaping a mind. It’s shaping, or helping to do so, a life. Such opportunities are here and then gone. They will never come again, at least not in the previous fertile sort of ways as when one is beginning this adventure called life.
There are those who take for granted their position in the classroom and academia. Petty tyrants they are, hardly “scholars.” They are, underlying their oft smiling and charming manners, cruel persons. They are along the lines of a professor who once replied to a sincere question from a young student, “That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard!” A truly teachable moment not only wasted, one also contributing to a stunting of growth.
I find such manners by professors, and I’ll include Wallace’s ignorant statement among them, repugnant to the nth degree. Any who accept such distorted statements as hers, ones lacking in integrity and honest scholarship, are truly being lead astray.
If you’ll forgive my bit of ranting here, then perhaps you’ll also not find objectionable my encouragement for prayers for better educators, ones who appreciate the very honored position they hold and do not spoil or abuse their charge.
