“I Love War” Says The Donald in New Anti-Trump Ad
When 1964 made a comeback
Pro-Hillary PAC Priorities USA is out with a new anti-Trump ad.
“I Love War” uses Trump’s own words against him, splicing together a soundbite reel that paints Trump as a trigger happy war monger.
According to NBC News, Priorities USA has dropped a whopping $5 million behind the ad. “I Love War” will run in markets across North Carolina, Ohio, Florida, Nevada, and Iowa.
If the ad looks or sounds familiar, that’s because it is.
Like the Clinton campaign’s official ads, it takes a page from President Lyndon Johnson’s campaign against Barry Goldwater in 1964. Back then, the invocation of nuclear war to scare voters was considered so controversial that Johnson’s camp quickly pulled an ad featuring a mushroom cloud. But the ad, “Daisy,” generated so much discussion that it went on to be considered one of the most successful and famous political ads of all time.
Based on the latest round of polls, Trump appears to be slowly narrowing the gap. Clinton is still consistently ahead, but current projections give Trump a 1 in 3 chance of winning.

Libya? Syria? Iraq? Lying old hag doesn’t have a shred of self-awareness does she?
Oh, geez, I meant to upvote, and hit the downvote instead, my apologies. This also from the person who said she would consider Russian hacking an act of war. Self-aware, indeed!
Trump should offer to contract the Clinton Foundation if we need to start a war somewhere.
Stupid Trump quotes? Not even any challenge in it.
After the sorry excuse for a potus we have, a lose cannon might work out better in our favor. The other countries might have to walk on eggshells for fear of setting him off. The lying sell out the dems are offering will get us invaded.
What are you talking about? We’re already being invaded!
Context from the fever swamp: That ad released at this time may be a response to this:
Hillary Clinton’s Illness Revealed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr1IDQ2V1eM
The Clinton Campaign is desperate to change the subject or spike the speculation about Hillary’s illness. They seem to have picked up the line about not being fit.
Actually, Trump is very predictable.
Been one step ahead of him the whole time, have you?
Hillary is. She had no problem manipulating him into a Twitter tantrum during her convention. We’ll see more of it during the debates.
Putin thinks he knows how to work him, obviously.
meanwhile, back here in reality…
Hillary is not doing anything. She is not physically and mentally capable to run her own campaign. She just shows up and reads from the teleprompter while her staff cringes as every cough and her bald black Medic stands by with her injection if a long pause gives way to a grand mal.
Iirc she gave a speech at the DNC…
That reminds me of the old joke.
In 1960 they told me if I voted for Nixon we would end up in a nuclear confrontation with the USSR. So I did, and we did.
In 1964 they told me if I voted for Goldwater we would end up in a land war in Asia. So I did, and we did.
In 1968 they told me if I voted for Humphrey we would end up with wage and price controls and many new federal bureaucracies. So I did, and we did.
In 1972 they told me if I voted for McGovern we would end up giving up in Vietnam. So I did and we did.
In 1976 they told me if I voted for Ford the economy would go in the toilet and we would have an incompetent foreign policy”. So I did, and we did.
….
in 2016 they told me if I voted for Trump, our nukes would be launched.
I really shouldn’t be laughing as hard as I am right now…but I just can’t help myself!
Be glad you are not Hillary. You would have had to change your Depends.
Why are so many people voting you down? Is the History too hard for them to recall?
“Is the History too hard for them to recall?”
Most so called conservatives don’t like the truth.
Much like the left, they live in a fantasy land.
Here is something interesting
Mark Levin announces he is voting for Trump. Can’t wait to hear Rags calling Levin a sell out ethanol subsidy supporting collectivist statist puke. LOL
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016/09/06/levin-im-going-to-vote-for-donald-trump/
You’ll wait forever. You didn’t listen to Levin. He’s a “hold my nose” voter, not a supporter by any means.
And everything you depict I’d say about Levin is true of the Great God Cheeto. Not of people who feel compelled to vote for him because they feel that’s their only shitty choice.
It’s also true of T-rump sucking cultists, like yourself, for whom I have the deepest loathing.
As he’s made apparent again just in the last day or two, he’s to the LEFT of Cruz, Perry, etc. on immigration. He’ll cuck you idiots in a lot of ways before many days go by, and, as Levin has observed, he’s unlikely to win.
My head is very nicely intact, and my analysis continues to be confirmed.
LOL. Can always count on you for comic relief.
You can always be counted on for personal attacks based in lies and T-rump suckery.
Exactly like Gary Brit. Right down to the immediate self-up-thumbing.
The good news is it seems our favourite bag of hot air is gone, hopefully for good!
LOL.
1. That wasn’t a personal attack.
2. You really have this guy Gary Britt living in your head.
3. You and your cohorts have accused at least 3 or 4 others of being Gary Britt. Paranoid much?
Mark Levin is voting for Trump. That just leaves you and the Glenn Beck types and Cruz’s mistresses not voting for Trump. 😉
He’s faux outrage talk radio brigade. No surprise there. In fact, the change of heart was expected giving how he was bushing NeverTrump two days before he proclaimed himself NeverTrump.
Trump says, “I love war.”
Hillary, I presume, at some time said, “I love peace.”
However Hillary is the only one of the two to actually vote to send our young people to war.
Remember how they tried to smear “Ronald Rayguns.” He was going to start WW III with the Soviet Union, that is if he lived long enough in office to do so. Funny how that didn’t happen.
Unless it is Bill Clinton whose mantra is “I love piece.”
Hillary has a record of supporting interventionist foreign policy. Libya and Syria come to mind, as well as Iraq.
But – her hand was also in the pot with the Coup in the Ukraine.
As with all things tied to HEr, if you want the truth it will be 180 degrees in the other direction of what is being told to you.
Mailman
This is a really smart ad and I have to say I think a lot of people are missing its significance as it foreshadows the line of attack that will be used in the debates. It is targeted at Democrats and Independents to increase turnout (Hillary persuadable) and its all about just one issue, the war in Iraq.
As every Democrat knows, Hillary voted for the use of force in Iraq and now says she regrets it. Donald Trump in the Republican primary, came very close to using the “Bush lied people died” line against Jeb, but also has quotes from 2002 and 2003 where he supported going to war and, in its first few months, said it “looked like a tremendous success”.
So if both Hillary and Trump did a flip flop like John Kerry, how did this give her the advantage? This is the really clever part – because its not whether you make mistakes – everybody does – but whether you recognize them and learn from them. She can do that and Trump can’t.
Now, if you’re a conservative, you just laughed or cried or threw up or whatever, because you know the details of Bengazi, the email scandal, etc and know that Hillary’s incompetent and unqualified, not to mention corrupt. But most people who watch CNN or read the Atlantic don’t – they just know that she screwed up somehow and the FBI reprimanded her but didn’t charge her.
And they also remember the Iraq war, and how it was sold to the American people as quick and easy and necessary due to WMDs and ended up being a decade long nation-building quagmire. Why would they want to be reminded of the war? Because they also have positive associations with their own role in opposing that war – the 2006 election was a high-water mark for Democrats and occurred in midterm.
Thus, this ad is designed to rekindle those associations and preemptively place Trump in the role of Bush using his own rhetoric that can be directly compared to some of Bush’s 2003 “with us or against us” lines. And it does this by highlighting what Hillary feels is the greatest mistake in her career, but one that she learned from, to try to put her other recent “mistakes” in perspective.
“And they also remember the Iraq war, and how it was sold to the American people as quick and easy and necessary due to WMDs and ended up being a decade long nation-building quagmire.”
That’s complete bullshit.
But not surprising to hear the Democrat party line from a Trump supporter.
Quote Ragspierre
“And they also remember the Iraq war, and how it was sold to the American people as quick and easy and necessary due to WMDs and ended up being a decade long nation-building quagmire.”
That’s complete bullshit.”
Well, kind of….
What the Administration ~SAID~ was that that the Iraq War was expected to be a short, administration changing conflict with short, heavy-combat operations to rid the Middle East of a dangerous dictator with Weapons of Mass Destruction, terrorist contacts, and no compunctions about using and relinquishing those WMDs, and a longer-term rebuilding of the nation into a representative democracy (which is what the Administration believed that the people of Iraq wanted). Further, the regime change would rid the terrorists of a favorable place for launching operations.
without trying to kill each other.
The Main Stream Morons then USED that misperception to damage the Bush Administration by claiming “It was all a lie. See. SEE. BUSH CAN’T BE TRUSTED!” The Democrats capitalized on the anti-war sentiment and the “can’t be trusted” meme to drive turnout in the 2006 and 2008 election cycles.
So, there IS something to his statement, but it’s less about truth than it is about perception of the Democrat/Progressive Low Information Voters and their touchy-freely emotions about the war.
DAMN IT!!! I hate typing on my Surface…. The Keyboard and touchpad are SO DAMN AWFUL….
Missing Paragraph:
What the Democrat/ Progressive Low Information voter ~HEARD~ (due to misinformation and misrepresentation by the Main Stream Morons) was that we were going in to depose a dangerous dictator who was within months of having functional nuclear weapons that could be placed on medium-range ICBMs and terrorist contacts, and had no compunctions about using those nuclear weapons on our allies near the Middle East and giving them to terrorists to smuggle into the United States. Further that we would be greeted as liberators, the Iraqis would be grateful and repay us for our trouble with cheap oil, and would set up a functional democracy in a couple of months without trying to kill each other, and our troops would be able to come home.
The 2006 midterm election was a referendum on Iraq and brought out 43 million Democrat voters vs 35m Republican, giving them control of the House and Senate and two years alter, the Presidency. This ad is an attempt to reach people who voted Democrat in the past based on their expected shared beliefs and assumptions and lack of information. If you don’t see that, then maybe you’re not thinking like a “Hillary persuadable”, which most of the time would be a good thing, but in politics you do have to put yourself in other people’s shoes.
From the negative feedback, I guess some people think I agree with the implicit assumptions in the ad for whatever reason or share the Democratic world view on Clinton or Iraq although I believe I said it relied on voters not knowing Hillary like conservatives do. Regardless, when you see Hillary bring up the Iraq war, her vote on it, and Trump’s statements in the first debate, hopefully you’ll understand the approach she’s taking and appreciate that you read it here first.
Far from it rags.
The war (conventional phase) WAS quick and easy.
The insurgent phase was bogged down UNTIL GW’s surge at which point Iraq was stabilised and the backbone of the insurgency was broken (part of which was thanks to tribal leaders seeing a strong reliable American president who wasn’t going to throw them under the bus at the first chance he got).
Saddam HAD chemical and biological weapons that were discovered in quantity in Iraq (which they should never have had to start with) coupled with Saddam telling everyone he had the capability as well.
THEN along comes Barry “the black baby Jesus” Obama who announces the date he will withdraw from Iraq (be sure all great military geniuses have done that through time eternal), created a power vacuum, leads to the. relation if ISIS and the destabilisation of the region all the while as Obama surrenders and empowers the enemies of the west.
Mailman
“Far from it rags.”
And then you go on to agree with my statement.
It must be just a reflex…
Ahhhh, Rages The Disagreeable. Do,you ever smile?
Oh, HELL, yeah! I laugh at you cultists often and cheerfully! I addition to being a pack of liars and frauds, you’re an unwitting clown house!
Folks can think this is a rock star caliper ad but when the normally left leaning Polite Fact gives it a “half-truth” and says it’s out of context it seems pretty easy to refute.
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/jun/19/priorities-usa-action/super-pac-ad-says-trump-likes-war-even-nuclear-lac/
Her ads can be pretty good but she’s preaching to her choir, mostly women. Besides, why does she need ads at all when she has the monolithic MSM and entertainment industry handing out the Koolaid 24/7?
Here’s what you get when you have a great idea that a LOT of conservatives have been advocating for a decade or two…
co-opted by a stinking, lying, pathological Collectivist thug for purposes of crass political pandering to populists…
http://hotair.com/archives/2016/09/07/cnn-poll-support-building-wall-along-mexican-border-dropped-significantly-past-year/
The stinking, lying, pathological Collectivist thug can actually put the good idea out of political reach.
Because people associate the idea (gaining control of our southern border, which is good) with a guy they deplore for perfectly sound reasons.
Yep.
this is what will happen to the rest of the conservative agenda in the unlikely event that Trump is elected.
If Trump is NOT elected the conservative movement will be a footnote to history for 50 to 100 years. Trump is running on a solid conservative agenda. If he is NOT elected president republicans and conservatives will cease to exist as a material factor in presidential politics, 2 out of 3 branches of government will be immediately and permanently seized by progressive socialists, and there is a good chance the entire GOP will become nothing but a footnote party like the libertarians and greens.
You being a progressive democrat yourself I’m sure you find this prospect pleasing and desirable. Rags on the other hand prefers this outcome as a fitting punishment to USA for its failure to worship his Mormon prophet.
You are a lying liar who lies. Just exactly like the lying pussy Gary Brit. Same style of lying, and pretending to know one flucking thing…or care about…conservative ideas or ideals.
Conservatives don’t have identical trade policies with Bernie Sanders. Der Donald does. All BIG GOVERNMENT, command economics, fascist crony capitalist.
That’s just ONE way you lie about Mr. Establishment being a “conservative”. Nobody believes that. Even Rush, who is a T-rump apologist, often says that T-rump is no conservative. T-rump is just a pretender…a fraud. Nobody with a brain credits him with anything he says, as Levin made very clear in the sound clip you posted above.
You are a T-rump sucking cultist. Conservatives are your natural enemies, and we’ll be here when you lying Collectivists have gone the way of the do-do. Or shit.
He’s got my number. Yes, I’m a Hillary supporter, left-Democrat. and I’m admitting that much! Right now!
Rags your response is just your usual moderator approved combination of vulgarity and delusional thinking we all have come to expect from you.
Tax cuts, reduce regulations, repeal obamacare, border security and enforce our immigration laws, everify, build wall, build up our miltary defense capabilities while cutting bureaucracy, renegotiate our trade deals from an America first perspective, and an America First foreign policy. All solid conservative positions. With the needed America First adjustments to correct for the demonstrated failures of the past 30 years.
Trump gave a great military speech today. Spot on.
More lies from both you and the Great God Cheeto.
Tax cuts in his plan will never happen. The Congressional plan is better, anyhow.
T-rump’s promise is to keep entitlements fully funded. That simply cannot happen. He’s baiting boobs.
T-rump thinks a raise in the minimum wage is groovy on a federal scale.
T-rump thinks its his business who you or I trade with, on what terms and where our property may be used.
T-rump has attacked…just like Bernie and Hellary…whole sectors of American business, including ENERGY and DEFENSE.
T-rump has expressly said that keeping Federal lands in the West is wonderful, and he won’t be opening them up for development. (See his Field & Stream interview).
T-rump has expressly said that the solution to BIG GOVERNMENT is smarter “brights” running our lives.
T-rump stupidly suggested that our military will follow his orders…when they are illegal.
I COULD go on.
You’re no part a conservative, and you just lie on behalf of your master.
1. Trump’s tax plan will happen unless congress blocks it. It is supported by Art Laffer and Stephen Moore. Even Mark Levin said it was a good plan back in 2015. So you lie and are wrong as usual.
2. It is smart for Trump not to fall into the usual trap of calling for cuts in medicare and social security during campaign like so many loser republicans of the past. Much better to first emphasize growth in economy and cut government waste as first choice then go from there. Not giving democrats a club to hit him over head with in campaign is smart. You not so much.
3. Trump favors minimum wage set at state level but isn’t opposed to modest increase at federal level. You lie and exaggerate as usual.
4. Wrong. Trump believes in renegotiating the trade agreements that currently provide unfair inducements to USA companies moving jobs and factories overseas. Morons like you prefer the current unfair one sided deals that have destroyed the middle class while making the banks and globalists richer.
5. Another lie. Trump preaches energy independence and an all of the above drill baby drill energy policy. And today he detailed plans for 50k man Army, 150% increase in Marines, 350 ship navy, ballistic missile defense, and 1200 fighter jet air force. Your lies and delusions about Trump K own no bounds.
6. Trump doesn’t want to build condos in Yellowstone. Certainly wise of him not to hand the democrats a club to beat him with during campaign. You not so much.
7. Wanting smarter leaders comb8ned with reducing regulation and government over reach is a good thing. Your lies and distortions nitwithstanding.
8. Not what he said at all.
Yes no doubt you could go on. There is never any end to your inanity and desire to help elect Clinton president.
You may not be aware of this, but legislation does not begin in the White House. Trump will not propose a bill that is “blocked” by Congress (take a few moments to read the Constitution).
Trump’s stance on the entitlements that are sucking up the majority of our federal budget is wily? It’s smart and savvy? Really? Wouldn’t an actual leader be able to explain to the American people that the top three money-suck entitlements can never ever be sustained by the American people . . . no matter the economy? Or do you think leading means pandering?
Your interpretation of Trump’s stance on minimum wage is laughable. So in trying to say that he does not support a federal wage hike, you say he intends to trash the Tenth Amendment and dictate to states what they should require for minimum wage. That’s exactly right, of course, but it’s an odd “defense.” Trump does intend to dictate all sorts of things to the States, including minimum wage.
Your argument about trade is also completely devoid of any concept of how things actually work. Our trade agreements are only a part of the problem; the thing you mention has nothing to do with trade deals with foreign countries and everything to do with tax incentives (which come from Congress, you know that, right?). Trade and taxation on corporations are two separate things, but they are both indicated in the ways corporations choose where and how to set up operations. Trade agreements, further, must be approved by Congress. Trump, as president, has no power on his own to affect a single thing related to trade.
Trump talks about energy independence . . . like you do. Without a clue what it means or how it can be achieved. When he’s not pandering to green energy (a huge yuge deal to Trump), he’s busy talking about investing in an energy infrastructure. For those of you not paying attention, this means government-controlled energy.
The building condos in Yellowstone thing I’ve not heard of, but I can tell you one thing about Trump: if he thought he could make a buck on it, he’d be all over it.
Trump is not a smart leader, he does not know any smart leaders, and he would not listen to a smart leader if he did know one. He’s an over-inflated ego on legs, and he has no idea what he’s talking about unless it’s how to use government to force people out of their homes so he can build a limo parking lot.
While it’s nice to see someone actually address Trump and his qualities that one might think make him suitable to be president, it would also be nice to see some evidence that one knows what one is talking about.
Fuzzy, preach on, sister! ))
“legislation does not begin in the White House. Trump will not propose a bill that is “blocked” by Congress (take a few moments to read the Constitution)”
Isn’t that special…
I stopped reading after the above paragraph because anyone so profoundly ignorant of all the ways legislation can be proposed, drafted, introduced in congress, and passed in the real world couldn’t possibly have written anything worth reading.
Less likely to wipe out on stage than Fiorina?

Kimberlee, how about giving the context that Hillary’s ad left out?
1. Trump’s tax plan will happen unless congress blocks it. It is supported by Art Laffer and Stephen Moore. Even Mark Levin said it was a good plan back in 2015. So you lie and are wrong as usual.

I love watching you T-rump sucking cultist get really spun up, trying to sell your lies in service of your man-crush!!!
“Yeah, T-rump is a lying sack of excrement, but he’s a really smart, crafty lying sack of excrement!”
That’s one that NEVER gets old!
Then there’s the plain old bald-faced lies you tell. People can read. Der Donald is on record. And I never lie.
But the bottom line here is that your trying to sell a flat-footed lie that you know is a lie; T-rump is not a “conservative”. AT ALL. NEVER WAS.
Rush knows it. He’s commented on it numerous times.
Levin knows it. He knows he’s a bullshitter, Collectivist, and nut. He’s said so. Oh, and he finds Nationalist Populism disgusting. As do all conservatives.
Much like your vulgarity and childish name calling never gets old to the moderators?
Shorter version of Rags: “I got nothin”
P.S. The thing I love most about Trump? His father was smart enough not to get photographed with Lee Harvey Oswald. 😉
So T-rump’s slum lord father hung out with Lee Harvey Oswald, too?!?!?! Good thing, as you say, he avoided detection.
I mean, I knew Der Donald was all mobbed up with Roy Cohn and all, but wow.
Are you seriously peddling that Trump lie as truth? A roundly debunked lie that is based on “bears a similarity to” that could include every single Hispanic male within a 20-year age range? Are you some kind of racist? Do “they all look alike” to you?
The allegation or story to which you refer was a National Enquirer story not a Trump allegation. Trump just referenced the National Enquirer story.
Trump has a tax plan? Unless he published it in the minute it took me to write this sentence, I don’t think so. He has a list of bullet points full of tax cuts and promises to restore previously cut military spending. To say it doesn’t add up would be implying that there’s something that can be added.
By comparison at this stage last election, Romney & Ryan had already published a budget proposal which had been scored by the CBO. The spending cuts weren’t popular and would have been a touch sell to Congress, but did actually pay off the debt over time (not the deficit the entire national debt) .
https://soundcloud.com/conservativereview/mark-levin-why-im-voting-for-donald-trump
“Donald Trump is NOT a conservative”; Mark Levin, in context.
The polls lie. Trump is everywhere- the MSM is trying to push the election to her by implying that “everybody else is voting [her], so you should too”!
Pay no attention to the “polls”.
Trump will win in a landslide.
So Rags, this is an admitted aside but the other day you boasted that you had volunteered to join the army. Couple of follow up questions: Was it the US Army? After witnessing so many screeching, street-person screeching rants I’m guessing.that more likely it was the Salvation. Were you accepted?
Ah, what is old is new again!
